  • The Bell AH-1 SuperCobra is a twin-engined attack helicopter that was developed on behalf of, and primarily operated by, the United States Marine Corps (USMC). The twin Cobra family, itself part of the larger Huey family, includes the AH-1J Sea Cobra, the AH-1T Improved Sea Cobra, and the AH-1W Super Cobra.
The Super Cobra was derived from the single-engined AH-1 Cobra, which had been developed during the mid-1960s as an interim gunship for the U.S. Army. While initially opposed by the Department of Defense, who were keen to promote commonality across the services, in May 1968, an order for an initial 49 twin-engine AH-1J SeaCobras was issued to Bell. The type entered service during the final months of the US's involvement in the Vietnam War, seeing limited action.
In October 2020, the U.S. Marine Corps retired the last of its AH-1Ws after 34 years of service, having replacing the type with the Bell AH-1Z Viper. By the time of their retirement, the model had collectively accumulated 933,614 flight hours.
Thank you for checking out another of our videos.
Today's example is a magazine type model which I assume is a DeAgostini or Amercom. The seller did not state and there was not branding on the packet. It is the Bell AH-1 SuperCobra of the US Marines used during the middle east conflict. It is 1/72nd scale and made of diecast with plastic accessories.

I'm a huge fan of attack helicopters and even though I already own the AH-1F model of the Cobra (operated by the US Army) as well as the AH-1Z Viper, I'm tempted to get this one as well 😅 You can never have enough Cobras in your collection!

I also don't mind a cobra. It's like the Apaches skinny older brother 😂. I also have one in 1:48 scale I need to review so look forward to that one. These ones are a pretty simple budget build, but still look good enough in the cabinet 😀. If your handy with a paint brush you could always add a little more details here and there 😀. Thanks for checking out the video and commenting 😀👍
