30 year contractor. This is part of the problem in the land clearing industry. LOW BIDDERS. Seen it my whole career. Low bidders ruin profits and are not in business after 2-4 years but the whole while artificially deflating prices. I pay Cat, Deere, Komatsu, Volvo mechanics $185 per hour, travel time for truck, work towels too for every towel they use :) while pulling up on the jobsite with $500,000 dozers excavators ect and I get calls from customers who thought 2 weeks worth of work is only going to cost them $2K lol. Heck my laborers cost me $50 bucks an hour minimum when it's all said and done. and I am in Texas so it's a less expensive state.
I’m just getting into the business would you say 1480/acre is a good universal price or just because your in the northeast and everything is expensive up there.
Better hope you have no breakdowns bid very cheap won't even cover machine payment only thing LEARNED HERE IS HOW TO GO OUT OF BUSINESS IM WITH THE GUY THAT HAS THE BIG EQUIPMENT LIKE I DID I WOULD NOT LET MY TRACK LOADER ON JOB AT ALL IT'S A MILLION DOLLAR MACHINE I DON'T PLAY AROUND WHEN DID JOBS DO A LOT OF HIGHWAY BUILDING WORK FACEBOOK AND MICROSOFT BUILDING SIGHTS GOT A LOT OF EQUIPMENT RATHER KEEP THE GUYS ON UNEMPLOYMENT THEN HAVE THEM DO A LITTLE JOB LIKE THAT FUEL AND ALL NOT WORTH IT ARE HAVE 7 MECHANICS WORKING FOR ME WORK and maintenance. In winter get ready for spring jobs still have a lot of work to finish before weather changes still have interstate work to do so set all winter to settle then sheep foot it then have the ready mix company ready to pave next year good night going to bed have to get up in 3 hours to go to work till dark till winter shutdown then sleep a little more 7:00

This is the case for EVERY business. Race to the bottom pricing with new people coming into the market.
You are working for free at 4k. Know your worth and charge accordingly
Forestry mulcher attachment on a skid steer is expense but popular.
Charity prices.
6500-7500 minimum and I would mulch as much as possible

Keep selling it at a loss. You'll make it up in volume.
6k is fair, 3k is cash and I have nothing else to do. That’s a ton of labor that most guys won’t even bid
