This is a good idea for a series and the one ship I REALLY want you to cover on this is the Liberator. That thing is both an open book and a mystery, because I know what it does but I can't divine what people will end up doing with it, if it'll be niche or something literally everyone has
Cool, if you do will you post a video to RUclips please? Id love to see it. There's not a lot of Star citizen models, that would make your video particularly unique.
Very well done! I look forward to the next one. If you're starting with ships that are not currently available, I would like to see one done on the Polaris and Perseus.
Agreed ZW, I would actually prefer ships not currently flyable in this series. There are lots of ship reviews out there on flyable ships, but I love the way SJ has correlated all the info, graphics and lore into this one great video.
@@STARJUMP_GRIM Does the privateer version still have the capability of repairing, rearming, and refueling ships? Or are those assets lost on the privateer versus the standard version? Your graphic in the video shows the fuel tanks disappearing in the privateer version which is why I'm asking. I've not been able to verify this information anywhere and I figured you would know. Thanks!
GREAT WORK! Thoroughly enjoyed this. Makes me happy to have a Kraken and actually makes me think about getting a Privateer as well even though I have a BMM. I can really see there being benefits to owning both after this. You really got me thinking about the key differences and how each has their own strengths and benefits. Really looking forward to the Endeavor episode next week. I have a Master Set and can't wait for you to sell me on it all over again! Would really like to see your take on the Banu Merchantman and the Polaris as well. Thank you so much for all you do for the community!

Not going to fool myself into thinking this'll be out anytime within the next few years but videos like this help my "need" for more Kraken content. THANK YOU! Wonderful video! Great look and POV on it.
This is the first video I've seen from your channel. I'm glad YT recommended it. This was a VERY well done video with tons of info, including stuff I've never seen/heard before.
Great content and very informative. I think CIG also needs to look at organisation ownership and ship user permissions. To have an Org. With 15 members on board and only able to deploy in their own ships, it is so limiting. Even on a reclaimer, you need ship ownership to board or use. For any ship, a minimum crew of over one, or any organisation with multiple known members, giving use permissions to organisation ships is a must for the future.
I see Kraken I must click… There’s still lots of things I’d like to see them improve about the layout and design like extending the large deck by a meagre 2 meters to give it better synergy with the caterpillar.
Awesome! Great ambient background music, appropriate on screen media that actually applies to the topic at hand, and well.. Kraken. I love this, keep it up! I'm hoping for Perseus next.
awesome video! The Kraken was the first ship I fell in love with when I began playing SC about 4 years ago but at the time I didn't know it wasn't yet in the game and i've been waiting for it ever since lol cant wait for that day to come
Fantastic! I look for more episodes of Shipyard. The attention to detail and the visuals certainly make it stand out and are a good reminder why I have this beast in my roster. As always amazing work from the StarJump crew and well worth the wait.
I can really see a Kraken Ore Refinery variant in the future. Sure, it can bring along a MISC Expanse, but I picture a couple of Moles + 4x escort fighters.
Nice. Since large tractor beams are on the horizon I'd be super interested in seeing what the Orion is looking like these days. I know they scaled it up going into this phase but its hard to find good information on this much closer to release ship.
Loved this episode. I have been on the fence about the Kraken Privateer v. Kraken and this gave some really great perspective. Thank you Starjump team!
I think I remember hearing during a Live that the larger capitol class ships such as the Kraken are meant to be persistent no matter the state of the owner. So I think it is possible that they won't start development until there is solid footing underneath full persistence.
So they did say that the Bengal would be persistent. However in the Kraken Q&A it was stated that the ship will despawn if the owner logs out. If other players on still on the Kraken when the owner logs out, then the ship will persist. However as soon as no one is on the Kraken anymore then it will in fact despawn.
Thats an idea, close ups on the components and weapons would be FANTASTIC not to mention that could be an entire new series that could take years to complete (BTW I would watch every episode;).
Outstanding video!! Keep up the good work. I love the idea of deck grav plating control / deck controller operator mode. I hope CIG is taking notes. LOL
Thank you for this Grim! I look forward to some more in the future, hopefully a breakdown of some of the smaller ships for the new folks too. I love this idea. Great addition to the channel! Especially the lore bits at the start.
A good amount of discussion has been made about the ponderous atmospheric and landing problems of big ships like the Starfarer and Reclaimer, but I think the solution to these things is relatively simple: They're like the weapons on a Prospector. In essence, they're a last resort for when absolutely every other option is off the table, and even then using them is ill-advised. In other words, folks talk about the problems that come about because a Kraken CAN land on a planetary or lunar surface, but the real question is whether they SHOULD. And, of course, the answer is a resounding NO, 99.99 percent of the time. The only situation I can see where landing a Kraken is a good idea would be when it needs to power down in order to hide, and needs to do so relatively long-term. Even then, however, there's so much space out there to get lost in - is it really worth the danger and expense of landing, when you could just as easily Quantum out to an empty spot in space that may actually end up seeing LESS traffic while being MORE accessible to friendly forces in the case where repair, replenishment, or the like are needed by the Kraken?
Picked an easy ship for the new vid series I see! J/K, this came out GREAT, very smooth all the way view and the audio and visual flow was great. o7! Polaris next!

Fantastic presentation mate. As time has marched on do we have any idea how merchant gameplay is shaping up? BMM, modularity arriving (so possibly shop options) and of course the Kraken Privateer. I'd be curious to know if just doing my own gameplay I could also end up stocking shops inventory myself instead of buying in stock. We now have physical salvage, with weapons and components. I would envision that simply moving from place to place would adjust your supply and demand feeding whatever is the economy system. Imagine a Kraken Privateer, on the the deck - Vulture, Prospector, Expanse, Cutty Black. All feeding into a shop and economy system!
Great job this was very enlightening and I am working to buy this ship to take it to my drake next level,As an owner of a Merchant man that would work great side by side a Kraken base model or a Privateer they would set up a safe area of commerce in a distant location with my Orion and Arrastra,Mole, Prospectors,Starfarer as well as other support ships like my Crucible and Expanse and so on. So cool but you would have to be online in game for almost the whole day non stop to make it worthwhile.
real shame I cant get the game to run for me. After about 5 min the game crashes and locks up. AMD 5800X3D CPU, AMD 7900xTx Vid card, 48 GIg system ram. Windows 10 all drivers are updated and the Bios is the most recent. Been trying to get it to run for the last 3 weeks. NOTHING

Hard to believe this is an in game, playable ship. SC is just massive or will be when it’s finished.

The bridge gives me serious Space Battleship vibes.
RELEASE THE KRAKEN!!
My most wanted ship in SC frankly!
real shame I cant get the game to run for me. After about 5 min the game crashes and locks up.
AMD 5800X3D CPU, AMD 7900xTx Vid card, 48 GIg system ram. Windows 10 all drivers are updated and the Bios is the most recent.
Been trying to get it to run for the last 3 weeks. NOTHING
14:09 Jesus, a hammerhead!?
A hammerhead lol
It will technically fit. Its landing gears are situated so that it will fit on the large flight deck... creatively of course.
Excellent!
