Hi Matt, for the personalised reindeer ornament, for the nose I would use red glitter acrylic. I can highly recommend the xtool P2 as serious upgrade from K40, this s a great tool for some with limited space and can be placed on a large desktop, it is better than other competitor products in so many ways. I have laser engraved on slate, bathroom tiles, plywood and acrylic so far. I 'm hoping the customised bathroom tiles take off
The rechargeable compressed air machines with the plastic brush on the end of the attachment works great as well. It's a lot cheaper over time than buying the cans of compressed air. I paid like $35 for mine on Amazon.
Thanks for the video! I’ve got the discontinued Makeblock Laserbox, so my struggle bus has been the R&D for your laser. I’d love to know how you keep track of files for your projects. During project development I’m doing a three step because the Laserbox until recently couldn’t use anything but the proprietary software, so I create a png in Photoshop Elements, covert to svg in Inkscape, then import into XTool Creative Space and set my cut/engrave power and speed. Testing and tweaking a design has left me a garbage pile of excess files that I’m now trying to cull out the bad files and organize the good ones after converting them from the old lq Laserbox files to the new xcs. I’d love to know how you organize so you can locate things when a job comes in or as you develop a new product.
I can't wait to get my P2 setup and running. We've had it for several months now but nowhere to set it up. The shop is almost done, maybe I'll have it done by Christmas. So for now, the D1 20w pro has to keep doing the job.
Hey Matt I have been watching your videos religiously for over a year now and I'm starting out like you in a small space but smaller then yours and I have just my xtool d1 10 watt and it is tight I'm taking over my wife's area half the time and we started doing craft shows and did ok but wish we always did better honestly our main problem right now is getting actual legit people on fb groups marketplace I get alot of people with weird sketchy facebook pages and etsy we are afraid to go on being so flooded and not establisheded enough yet do you have any pointers for us to get more online facebook marketplace / group pages with legit people. I'm so glad you do these videos they help me.
Another awesome video Matt. I just bought the Xtool S1 it doesn't do everything I wanted to do so I will probably be looking at the P2 real soon. I finally figured out that with my honey business I needed something else because not every year is a blockbuster year like this one. So I really need to start supplementing my business income with some laser projects. I've been watching a lot of your videos on this channel for tips and tricks and just all-around pointers. Of course I have followed you on your other homesteading channel for years. Thanks for sharing.
Hope yours works better than mine. Had to do a total unit replacement and now my new machine needs the z axis cable and new circut board. Less than 90hrs on it.
Hi Matt, Just purchased the xTool S1 40W enclosed laser with the extras including the rotary attachment. Wondering if its worth purchasing the 2W 1064nm Infrared Laser Module for small metal engraving.
I really enjoy your videos. They are very informative! Do you know if the X1 will cut 1/8” board ? Thank you for all the effort you do to help others ! Glenn
Hey Matt! Awesome Video! What material and settings did you use to get that dark engrave on the reindeer? We have a tricky time getting it to look so dark. Alos Happy thanksgiving and thanks for another great video.
Hey Matt. How are you venting the laser fumes outside? Are the neighbours complaining about smell? I’m obviously having an issue right now and looking for ideas
A charcoal filter will help. Hydroponics shops sell them for hydroponics growers who don't want their neighbours getting upset with what they are growing.
Hello Matt I bought a table top laser engraver several months ago I made some slate coasters and wood ornaments I put them on Esty didn't sell any of them and I also put them in my eBay store not one has sold yet I don't know what I'm doing wrong I do love making stuff with my engraver it is a little discouraging when I haven't sold anything any suggestions Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving

That’s a good idea. That’s awesome yeah I really like the P2

Thanks appreciate it. I will check them out.
Thank you. Good content. Tip if you don’t have one, but they make rechargeable canned air things. They work great.
😃 got one 😉
I love my P2. The close up camera is crazy accurate.
Yes it is

Congrats. Hay at least you have a plan

I don’t sell on Facebook. I sell plenty on Etsy. You really should sell on Etsy or amazon. Etsy is easy compared to amazon.

Wow well time will tell

Yes and no. Because that all depends on what you are going to do. It is fast and if you do shows people can watch you make it for them.
Schnazz to the schnozz! :) Those look great and I just ordered the transfer paper through your link too. Thanks for that!
Thanks 😃
Great video & some neat files in there, too. Happy Thanksgiving to you & your family
Thanks 😃 and same to you.

I think you mean D1 and yes it will. Not in one pass but yes you can.
Yes I have a D1 but haven't got to use it a lot yet. I'm planning on getting started learning with it. !!!
I just bought the xtool p2 can't wait for it to come in. I am coming from using the glowforge had it for four years
Congrats 🎉 you will be able to do way more in the P2
1st video I've seen. Love it, subbed.
Couldn't you use the vacuum rather than blowing parts with the compressed air?
I have tried it but it doesn’t seem to get all the pieces out.
Hey Matt! Awesome Video! What material and settings did you use to get that dark engrave on the reindeer? We have a tricky time getting it to look so dark. Alos Happy thanksgiving and thanks for another great video.
Give me a minute I will put it in the pined comment and I used maple mdf 1/4”
Awesome little laser 👍
Great stuff as usual!
Thanks
That looks like a great laser Matt. . I think as an intro unit, that'd work great.
You absolutely right 😃
@@laserengravingwithmatt I mean, you know this. . . Man .. . .LOL
Great video, do you think something like thr Xtool or the Thunder Lazerbolt would be better for a first machine?
That is a tough question. It all depends on what you plan on cutting with it or engraving with it and your budget.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family..
Thanks and same to you
Question how offen do you have to fill up the machine with water. Also can machine be run long hours like about 10 hours a day
As needed I haven’t needed yet. Yes it can
Happy Thanksgiving guys
Matt, what is your opinion of the new Thunder Bolt?
Same to you. I like it but why 30 watt. I feel like they should have made it 50 in my opinion.
@@laserengravingwithmatt , I agree, but there’s always a reason behind company decisions.
@@laserengravingwithmatt It's a 30Watt RF though - so equivalent of a 60Watt Glass and a smaller laser beam :)
What was your setting on the baby giraffe milestone ? I have done a few at different settings and not found the right shade for the giraffe.
I don’t remember. I am pretty sure I said it in the video
Nope, I watched it twice. Never mentioned the settings.
Sorry I thought I did. Speed was 200 and I am guessing the power was 100
Hey Matt. How are you venting the laser fumes outside? Are the neighbours complaining about smell? I’m obviously having an issue right now and looking for ideas
I go right out the wall. I don’t have neighbors though. Can you go up through the roof?
A charcoal filter will help. Hydroponics shops sell them for hydroponics growers who don't want their neighbours getting upset with what they are growing.

Hi 👋. I would change up your tags and if you don’t think your pictures are better then your competitors then change them.
What do you do for the charring on the edges? It gets all over everything fir me. I have the xtool d1 pro 10w.
I don’t have any charring. With the D1 I would do multiple pass and see if that helps
Hey Matt Xtool P2 or Thunder Bolt for small business?
They are both good. It all depends on the things you plan on doing.
Can diode laser engrave polymer ?
I haven’t tried it.
Awesome
