Speaking about how it's a song that's going to last forever... I was expecting it to stay a lot more popular throughout the years (decades actually). I remember my local radio station in Austria doing a countdown of the "Top 100 songs of the millenium" in the last days of December 1999, and everyone in my age group (teens to mid 20s then) kind of expected "One" to be voted number 1. I was kind of disappointed when it became a runner up to "Let it Be" but here we are - during the lockdown window concerts in 2020, Let it Be was also on heavy rotation and One is not nearly as well known in 2024.
