I did it the same way, but the battery is not being detected properly by apple still showing a required status and no battery state of charge. I even received a second battery from the retailer, but same behavior. In addition, the phone does occasionally turn off and on again. No clue what went wrong.

Most probably there is an issue with the board. You need to seek a board technician.Bad connector port, IC etc
Why you remove the haptic?
To be safe side. You can do without removing it too.
