Best ESPN broadcast booth of all time, They haven't found one since they let these go from Sunday Night Football. They had to steal Joe Buck and Troy Aikman from FOX

Barry with back-to-back TD carries of 73 and 80 yards - except for the holding call. That ONE holding call prevents Sanders from having 100 career rushing touchdowns (has 99), a 5th consecutive 1500 yard plus rushing season, another 200 yard rushing game, and over 100 yards rushing per game career average.

Silverdome used to be a house of horrors for the Packers back in the day, they had about 6 years in the late 90s and early 2000s where they only won there like 1 time. And it was some bad to average Lions teams beating some good to great Packers teams in that stretch too!

This ended up being the final rushing TD of Barry Sanders' career. It still boggles my mind that he inly rushed for FOUR TDs in 1998 despite playing all 16 games.
Still don't know this Lions team finished 5-11 either.

Because the genius Bobby Ross thought taking out the best RB of all time on the goal line was a good “strategy.”

Barry Sanders is the only running back that I've ever seen that literally looks like he got faster quicker and more precise with his cuts with age..... Compare 1989 to 1993 Barry Sanders to 1994 to 1998 Barry Sanders I'm telling you the man's faster and quicker at 30 when most backs should be slowing down or at least dealing with injuries......guy looks like a first year rookie out here 😂.......

Apparently he started eating properly and worked hard on improving top end speed. I agree. Really noticeable. A true pro. Always striving to get better.

He had 3 50+ yard TDs from 89 to 93. He had 13 50+ yard TDs from 94 to 98. I think you’re spot on.

If I had a dollar growing up watching the lions every time the QB through a 2 yrd pass on a 3rd and 5 or 6 or 7 I'd be rich. We had ZERO imagination when it came to the offense!!

The way Barry sanders can stop and Start at full speed his strength is like a regular person jump roping with a dishwasher on their back. Also they should have ran him on the goal line, his college coach did and Barry jumped over everyone

Does anyone know why this game was played on a Thursday so early in the season? Pretty uncommon for pre-2006

Ahh, Looks more fed up! He wanted to win, no doubt. Had they been closer, I think he would have played. Also, Don’t think he was willing to break the Greatest RB of All-Times rushing record

The call at the end was prob bad, but it was over anyway. Glad Lions won! I’m a Steeler fan, So I was partial lol..Actually hate Gay Bay Peckers, but I will refuse to be like everyone else and look for “excuses!” Refs get to atleast make a couple minor bad calls, but asides from the last play, I didn’t see much in way of uneven calls. Pretty fair game. Barry’s second TD call WAS a hold into a damn tackle! The O-Line F’d Barry on that one! That was so dumb, just let the guy go. So, That is on the OLine! Good game all in all tho. Charlie Batch, Mr. Steeler and Best backup QB we ever had!
