    Thank you so much for providing such instantaneous, professional and in-depth content. You have completely revolutionized automotive journalism, I'll never have to pay for television/magazines again, as they cannot even compete with your content in my opinion. Keep doing what you are doing. I've been a subscriber for well over 4 years now, and I truly appreciate your dedication to the culture. You're a true petrolhead! - Cheers from Cape Town, South Africa

    Mercedes S class is best luxury car in the world, BUT Phantom is one level above it.... Phantom VII was pretty ugly for me, but VIII look so briliant... It takes very similar shape and makes it beautiful... Also I love how that guy from design team was speaking, there was no overhelming or speaking some unimportant stuff, he was direct and everything that he said I saw in design of this car.... It is first Rolls-Royce that I would drive, can`t wait for its online configurator so atleast I can imagine it easier...

      Maybach is above S class, kind of disapointing as even E class and skodas are now getting the heated and cooled seats, massaging seats, adjustable lumbar support is still an upper tier car feature, but I don't see any perferations for heated/cooled seats on this car, don't see adjustable lumbar support either. And the headrests on the Maybach S class looked very nice.....

      @ng jason even Ferrari is planing to make an SUV.... but the reason why Rolls Royce never made an SUV before was because it was seen as "improper" and not elegant.... (maybe Toyota will make the next Prius an SUV) heck while we at it maybe Range Rover will make a luxury sedan....

    Weirdly enough the previous Phantom is one of the only cars I can think of that looked better with a facelift. Very iconic car. I think this new model is a bit too familiar and also a bit fussy. Of course I don't really like that colour or those oversized wheels so maybe time will tell but at the moment it's not terrible looking but it's not exactly great either. I'm sure though like the previous one it'll be perfection to drive. Had the pleasure of driving a 2013 model and the V12 felt more like a turbine than an engine! I wore really nice clothes and acted confident and the Staff at Berkeley Square assumed that I was probably a millionaire and let me have a test drive. I'm only 20!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • @Shmee150
      @Shmee150  7 лет назад +5

      I have a 4K steadyshot camera, but dealing with 4K content is impossible. The microphone thing is something I am looking into, but I simply do not have time to test it. It is really busy right now and soon you will see why, so changes to the gear are not a priority at all right now. ;)

    • @jamiekins938
      @jamiekins938 7 лет назад

      The Mulsanne is great I don't like it when they change too much. They all need to take a a little guidance from
      Porsche, when they changed the headlights people went crazy and they put them back. When your car has established a look they should stick to it and do minor things to improve it. Not change the whole damn thing. I don't like the B backlights on the Mulsanne because I think it's beneath them to be so gratuitous and self serving. They don't need to do that.
      When all the luxury cars start losing the wood in them I lose interest. Any moron can stretch leather over a form. The wood takes real craftmanship. And the new art gallery is stupid. No one but a nouveau rich arab is going to put a Rembrandt in a car and that leaves just common art that isn't very impressive.
      There is nothing wonderful about a bunch of leather. Rolls had almost no wood in the new ones at the show. You can still get it but it will cost more. Porsche is doing great with the classic look they have always had.
      I fear that BMW is going to ruin Rolls Royce. I don't like their new little Rolls Royces at all. There is no man made art that is as beautiful as the natural grain of a beautiful wood. Nothing beats nature in any way. They should know that.

    Another great video, thanks for posting. Anytime you're in LA and you have an extra ticket to an event, I'd love to attend (fat chance, I know, but you can't get a no without asking!).
    Love the touch close doors from the outside. Amazing how close the front wheels are to the front bumper.
    Okay, now I'll be picky. A couple slightly negative comments. This first is going to sound silly but, if you look at the new CX-5 and look through the grille, they paid attention to removing "distractions" from behind the grille. Rolls might want to look at this as you can see a couple of struts/rods breaking up the beauty of their grille.
    The second is the gas door. They just have to find a way to hide this in a body panel, behind the rear tail light, hidden under the rear license plate, something! Just can't have the gas door breaking up the C-pillar like that.
    Now, not that I'll ever be able to afford one of these but, with the attention of detail to the rest of the vehicle, I believe this is definitely something to address in Gen 9.
    But, in a word, amazing.

    Stunning work of art, engineering, beauty, and power.That was an interesting choice of a colour combination for the interior and exterior. Maybe it's the purple lighting that makes it look that way. That being said, the craftsmanship at Rolls Royce is second to none.

    Wasn't feeling it so much when you first showed it, but after walking around the car with the guy explaining I like it more. The gallery in the show model wasn't too special, but the flower dash was just insane. I would love to make a design for someone's car.

    A lot of beautiful small details which sum up to a car which just looks like a facelifted Phantom 7. Expected more from the new flagship Rolls Royce.
    Oh, and what have they done with the back of the car!? The bumper could have been integrated so much better into the design.

    The funny part is that this new Phantom looks better than that $10+mill Rolls Royce that was made and purchased by one person. Oh and the roses on the dash niiiiice, it's a Rose Royce ^_^
