      @@hansloyalitat9774 haha, no. The standard world physics and weather implementation are better of that then P3D and XPlane. Once A2A releases their Comanche, MSFS will be truly unparalleled in the world of flight simulation. As it stands now, nothing even comes close. The thing I find funny is that this is the exact same PMDG plane that was in FSX and P3D that everyone lauded as the best airliner simulation money could buy and argued that the high price was worth every penny. Now, because it's in MSFS it's suddenly bad, even thought it flies no different here than it does in FSX/P3D, and when A2A does enter into MSFS, they will be using external physics anyway, which they have always done because because FSX/P3D flight model and physics are shit and always have been. So what we have here is just another person listening to the anti-MSFS bullshit without doing any thinking on their own. Laughable at best.

      and you have no idea if he actually did proper in-game ATC procedures. It might very well have been him taking off into traffic. I have played plenty of msfs and have not seen AI planes do runway incursions when in-game ATC was used. The vehicles in the game are somewhat iffy though, that is true. Then again, apart from the oddball fuel truck coming at you on the taxiway or weird clipping with scenery at times, they do add life into the game and more often than not enhance the feeling of realism.
      I have just watched a video from the latest iteration of x-plane and I was appalled at what they managed to come up with several years after MSFS became the new standard. Also, MSFS does these graphics even with reasonably modest specs. I had more than fine FPS with a 1080 and frankly, anything current gen would allow you to play with graphics that blows the competition out of the water. It might not be an important aspect if you are looking for a training aid, but familiarity with terrain, landmarks, etc can be a great help in training for VFR and I can tell from experience, that the scenery is pretty damn accurate even in some remote places.
      So yea.. LOL all you want, but for people who have no axes to grind or nits to pick, MSFS can pretty much give you a realistic VFR experience, it has a physics engine that is more than okay for its price and class and it has planes that are modeled and simulated to training level detail. Does not get any more realistic than that, unless you do the real thing.

    I live in Boston, so I automatically love this episode to no end. It doesn't get featured enough in flight simulators or general media in my opinion, so real glad you chose here as your departure point. Logan Airport is a very familiar part of home to me and I can confirm that Microsoft did a smash-hit good job on nailing the design and accuracy not just of the airport but also of the city. Now granted, for the latter, it doesn't look like it's up to date with its current appearance - namely the area by the Prudential Center and that other large skyscraper; a new one went up a few short years ago - but it's fine, as it seems to bring me back to a simpler time when there wasn't as much construction going on here as there is now.
    The flight as well as your commentary and video presentation were all a solid 10/10 as per usual. No trouble this time with the plane like last time and the landing, while maybe not exactly butter, was still a nice, firm landing regardless. I was a USAF flight sim guy in the early '80's and this is just incredible! In those days, the visual system could only display night scenes and flat plane surfaces. This has amazing realism. It took a room full of electronics chilled like a meat locker to give a much inferior experience. The textures, reflections and detail were not even dreamt of in those days.

    Sir, you forgot one important detail. A formation of hot air balloons exceeding a velocity of about Mach 5 intercepting your flight path at least once and pulling a vertical after aggressively attempting some strange slewing around your aircraft midflight. That would then at least make the video closer to a realistic simming experience for all of your viewers.

    I love watching the traffic on the roads in these simulations, the planes and scenery are amazingly realistic, far less so is the traffic on the roads, sometimes just disappearing, most driving at a constant 70mph, in the cities or on the freeways and occasionally going straight through scenery. Yes I know, they can't make everything spot on and it is a flight game, I'm not criticising in any way, I just find it amusing that's all

    What an insane video, I'm blown away every time. The fact that this is a simulator is just completely mind blowing. • @FoDaddy
      @FoDaddy 2 года назад +10

      Nvidia wouldn't do that. They are in the hardware business, they aren't going to make add-ons for a game. However DLSS support is coming for FS2020 in a few months, that will help performance significantly.

      @@marwinsteiner5817 Again, Nvidia wouldn't do that. Microsoft or Asobo might though. Nvidia might give studios tools to do what you're proposing (similar to DLSS or hairworks, etc.) But they aren't going to do artwork for a specific game themselves, that's not their business model.

      Yep. A lot of games and simulators let you enable a feature where it uses a lightweight algorithm to figure out what you're trying to focus on based on your camera movement, and simulate the blurring effect of focusing with a high-quality camera. I've heard some software might actually be using this to *improve* performance at some point by rendering the blurred/unfocused parts in low resolutions instead of applying a blurring filter afterwards; cool stuff all around
