I have to comment... I don't know you from Adam, but I have to say as a Carnivore and an intermitant faster for several years now... I am so proud of you for making this and all your carnivore videos... many kudos... please do Not stop! You are impacting more than you know... blessings and thank you!
Thank you so much for the kind words and encouragement. Carnivore has transformed me from an old man with health problems into a youthful perfectly healthy "middle aged" man again with a new outlook and purpose. I hope to still be doing this youtube thing when I'm 110. Then I'll be the Really Old Guy Carnivore.... lol
I'm 31, weigh over 300 pounds and have been morbidly obese since i was 16 or 17. I've tried many diets over the years and can't stick with them. With my natural preference for meat over all other foods, I'm hoping this will be one i can stick with.
I'm 46, I'm currently 289lbs (or thereabouts), been morbidly obese as far back as I can remember. I've tried many things over the years that had varying levels of success. I've started carnivore before several times and then fell off the wagon, I've been on again for the past 7 days. This is the best channel I've seen on how to handle the mental challenges of sustaining the lifestyle.
Please come back and let us know how you're doing? There's really not a lot to think about, reduce all the refined foods and carbs, eat meat, feel better. You got this.
I've watched 2 videos from this guy. In those 2 videos. And I mean this HANDS DOWN is the Best and YES Better! than all the mainstream so called carnivore authorities, and I've watched all of them he is giving the most straight undiluted or over prossesd example to starting a carnivore diet into hopefully a way to healing and greater health I have seen!
I’m 60 years old. I’ve just been doing carnivore diet for 10 days and I see the changes. At random and I’ve came across your channel and I am already full of admiration. You should compile all your saying and writing in a book. Life changing lessons.
I agree with cleaning out your environment. However, there are folks out there who can’t afford noodles or cans of vegetables. Take this stuff to your local food pantry! Place in a donation box. Don’t throw it away!
I am very happy to have discovered the Carnivore Diet. Sometimes I think : "If only I had discovered it earlier!" Better late than never ! I am 59 years old now and I have been on this diet for about two months and what I find most miraculous about this diet is that the chronic disease symptoms are slowly disappearing!!! The other day I ate pasta again and immediately the day after, some symptoms of those chronic disease symptoms were back! I got tempted and my body immediately let me know the price for that. Since we are now seeing all kinds of attacks on livestock, farming and the entire food supply systems on a global level, I hope that as a city person, I will be able to buy reasonably decent meat for some time to come ! Supermarkets will of course go along with the artificialisation of our food, because there is huge investment in that now. So we carnivores will have to be increasingly careful about what we buy. Direct from the farmer is obviously best, but the farmers themselves are now also routinely attacked by governments bound by all sorts of agendas of the real power networks a.k.a. globalists.
I agree, but fortunately we love our meat and any attempt to deny us would probably cause a revolution..lol. Hopefully there will be swing back to sanity, but keep buying meat and stop buying crap. If enough of us do just that, the supply will rise to meet the demand. When I see the waiting lines at Outback and other steak house chains, I'm comforted.
You are not only exemplary in your video work, but also in terms of speed in answering the comments! You'd almost forget about RUclips's censorship frenzy! Thank you. Indeed, we must persevere with what we know is good for us. And channels like yours help us do that.@@OldGuyCarnivore
38 years old. Hit 400 lbs first time in my life last week. A switch clicked in my head and I said "enough delusions". Grace of God the algorithm popped up a clip from Jordan Peterson talking about how carnivore diet changed him. I have lousy self-control. Occasionally I tried to give up soda or such but I always go back. The idea of eating lots of crispy water (veggies) has never appealed. This diet? I've never been hesitant to eat a steak. That's one big hurdle removed. The numerous testimonies of significant weight loss gave me hope (I'm only a week in and I am treating my scale with suspicion as I've seen other Tubers recommend). Satiety from meat is real. Ohhhh myyyyy. Thank God my family is supporting me.
Having been on various diets labeled "cave man", "Stone Age", Paleo and Keto, I know the benefits of a carb-free diet. I have also known the benefits of a pure carnivore diet, which I have been able to manage for 10days to two weeks several times. But, as you say, Mitch, there are forces of family and society that fight us on this and I have never gotten to 30 days. Not yet. But you are inspiring me to just keep going, and to be aware of the many ways our efforts can be sabotaged, oftentimes with the best intentions, but mostly, by ourselves . Our old habits of thought. Thanks for the information. I am listening and changing.
Alan, I have been on all the different versions of low carb since Atkins. On and off and on again. Up 30 pounds then down 30 pounds. Such is carb addiction. Since carnivore a year ago, I can sense a real difference in the way my machinery works. I wouldn't have believed that just eliminating the last of the carbs could have such a profound effect.
You're another one that should come back and give us updates. I would never have made it to 70 lbs lost and so many health issues gone or close to gone, without the encouragement of so many other carnivores.
Same story as above, I have done many, many versions of low sugar/carbs, Atkins, keto, keto/ carnivore. Taken off 50 to 30+ lbs, then lbs back on with SUCCUMBING to cravings! Never reaching total goal of 100+ lbs off. You and fellow commenters here have inspired me to go at it again to get that "final BRAIN switch FROM carb cravings." PSThank you for your slides as they are concise and fantastic. I can SEE success right there on your "whiteboard"😅!!!
I'm 75. Carnivore for 5 years. I feel like I'm 40. Walk aile a day and lost 50 pounds and have kept it off on no medications. Wish I would have felt this good when I was in high school !! I'll never change the way I'm eating. WHY SHOULD I …??
I live in a household of 5 people and I'm the only carnivore. The first few weeks were a little rough, when i started. It's been a year and a half and now I don't crave any of the things I shouldn't eat! I rarely think of food at all. I'm down to eating one meal a day and rarely am I hungry! It changes the whole way you look at food. I highly recommend going carnivore!👍😎
I appreciate getting this advice from a senior that is living proof it works please keep going. I am weening myself and my husband to carnivore and watching content and seeing success in the senior community is very important.
Mitch, I know others have said the same thing I am about to say, but here goes. I have been pursuing the carnivore lifestyle for a few months now and have consumed many other RUclips creators on this subject. I just found this video and it is by far the best "starter/beginner" video out there. I loved the no B.S. approach and the simple message to just focus on eating only carnivore whole foods. Please keep up the content according to your time constraints. Love the channel so far.
Thank you, you just made this soo clear for me, i understood this perfectly a very clear explanation no faff no BS just what i needed, this uk 65 year old is now fully on board instead of wondering how do i make this work, what am i doing wrong, please do NOT stop informing us and showing us other ways to cook, a true inspiration. x
Ann, I just took a peek at your channel and saw your curated playlists. I saw all the videos about how to make low carb imitations of foods that we are addicted to that drew you in. That exposes a problem that has gone relatively unnoticed. In my opinion, that is one of the greatest triggers and hence, the greatest cause of failure. This is why I was so emphatic about NEVER to eat or even think about those things.
You just popped up and I clicked on immediately. Get ready, your channel is gonna blow up! YOU ARE GREAT!!!! Carnivore saves lives and you are a great representative of the lifestyle. Be Blessed!
I just started carnivore on July 1st. I'm not having cravings for sugar anymore and I'm not hungry between meals. Amazing so far. Grocery shopping sure got easier. 🎉
I just turned 70. I’ve tried Carnivore and would always fall off. I watched two parter on how to start the carnivore diet. I don’t know what message it was but the simplicity that you presented it’s working. I am a type two diabetic I was averaging about 230 my numbers I’m not down to 150. I even hit a 128 the other day so somethings working, thank you
I'm 78 and just starting out. Watched all your videos and love tbem. The other day I did a simple recipe with Planko crumbs and it completely derailed me. All of a sudden I craved fruit and chocolate which I didn't eat often. Yes, fruit I ate a lot of every day.
@@OldGuyCarnivore I know, maybe but reminded me of breaded stuff. I'm a week into this and had no idea how hard the craving hit me. It was mainly for fruit because I was a fruitarian for many years . I know, I thought I could lose weight just eating fruit but that didn't work either,
65 yrs old and started this journey 15 days ago. First 6 days were brutal but feeling so much better already. Have a get together with the girls this Wednesday and the host just asked what snacks can I eat as she didn’t want to leave me out I told her don’t worry about me I will eat before I come no snacking will be needed. She finds it hard to believe I won’t want anything. I suppose it is hard to get one’s head around that
Finally discovered ‘priming’ after spending weeks white knuckling and failing. it was ‘priming’, and eating ALOT whenever I was hungry, that flipped me into being a relaxed, satisfied, true carnivore. All your steps are right on (especially the priming for some of us)!
How have I not found this channel before? I would NOT have struggled if I had found you sooner. I am 48yrs old and the struggle is over now I've found you. I just know it. Thank You Mitch. X❤
Wow Mitch, you are amazing. Not only do you know how to do technology better than me, you also understand processed food addiction. I subscribed. You are going to help so many people. I just binge watched all your videos. I don’t know you, but I’m really proud of you. Just amazing stuff. Stay yourself, keep this channel going with just being you. You are relevant and you bring value to this world, thank you for your work!!
Great video. You just popped up in my feed. I’ve been eating carnivore for about 10 months and I feel the absolute best that I’ve ever felt. I’m nearly 58 and feel like I’m 30. After starting carnivore my energy levels picked right up and I felt the need to begin exercising. I took up barbell training and have been on a strength training program for 30 weeks. I took to this way of eating after 3 months of keto. I gave up alcohol and have tried to learn as. Urchin as possible about health and nutrition. And after learning the effects of a bad diet on health and the liver I have zero desire to ever eat crap again.
Great what you have done for yourself!🏆I agree with you about the Diet Sabotaging!👍I'm Eating 99% Meat🥩. 99 days today & I have gone down from XX Large T-Shirts to Med T-Shirts & size 48" Jeans to 32". I ate One Meal A Day(OMAD)(23.5hrs Fasting) until August🙂. Now eating 'One Meal Every Other Day'(OMEOD) for August. This is known as alternate day intermittent fasting(ADIF). 47.5 hrs Fasting until next meal. Better mental Clarity now, Fatty liver & psoriasis is gone, healthy gums, no more Stomach issues & much more..!👍😎👍
I have learned a lot from the younger carnivores but have been actively searching for anyone closer to my age. You are spot on about recreating fake versions of the foods that got us here. Best of luck to you on your new venture and I look forward to watching your videos.
Nurse here and just turned 65. Started carnivore diet 4 days ago and doing IF (have been doing this on and off for over a year). It’s working well for me and I find I’m simply not that hungry early in the morning. I drink coffee and add butter to get in additional fat. I’m finding 2 meals a day is sufficient and keeps me full. I have anxiety, sleep issues and skin problems. I noticing all of these are improving even in this short time. Jordan Peterson and his family had amazing success while going carnivore. I’m going to share your video with my husband who is 74 and addicted to carbs. He recognizes his addiction to sugar and knows how detrimental it is to his health. He will be a process (and that’s fine). He ate a carnivore meal for dinner last night! 🙌🏻 When he’s ready I will be happy to walk alongside him. Great information and thanks so much for sharing your experience.
That's great to hear. It sounds like your husband has passed the first hurdle, recognizing that he is a carb addict. We all know how hard that was to accept at first.
The down side to this diet, is at 62 I have to workout alone because all my friends are taking too much medication or overweight and out of shape to join me. 😢 Btw I used to only eat chicken and fish before carnivore I HATED steak. Now I crave red meat especially steak and feel better when I eat red meat. Love your advice about eating when when you're feeling hungry. I tried eating twice a day because all the carnivore videos said two meals a day and I was always snacking on pork skins. A voice said eat three times a day dummy, because more fat was giving me the runs. 😂
I also workout alone, usually at 5 or 6am (Gym opens at 5). I actually have made some new friends there. Most of my lifelong friends are dead now. Two of them were vegans who used to give me hell about eating meat. Sad because they both died in their early 70's. I eat in a 4 hour window each day. We each have to find what fits.
I NEVER leave comments but out of all the hundreds of carnivore videos I’ve watched you are the only one that explains our brain chemistry in a way that actually finally clicked for me. I’ve been carnivore for 3 years but not consistent long enough to completely heal. I’ll see improvements then fall off the wagon. I literally thought there must be something wrong with my brain that I can’t stick with it. I can now recognize when my primal brain is lying to me ! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and love how you get the message across! Please keep making great content!!🥰
Thank you Audra! This may be the most gratifying comment I have gotten to date. The reason is that you actually get it. I'll continue to try and explain the real reasons for our behavior, but attention spans these days are about 3 seconds. "Wow me or I'm gone" is the attitude of content consumers who don't really want to understand the why, but are just seeking the quick fix!
I'm starting my fourth week of carnivore so I can't provide any meaningful testimonials yet. But one thing that surprised me was how my hunger has been supressed so much that I have to remind myself to eat. If I go too long without eating, I get light-headed before I actually get hungry and the pounds are just melting off.
Best start up video switching to carnivore yet, Mitch! I am living proof, like you, and once here we cannot imagine ever going back to what we ate before.
Great video. I am just starting and feel like I am getting fatter with this diet. Almost all carnivorians emphasize fasting and it looks like fasting makes them loose weight, not the carnivore diet. He is different.
I'm 63 years old, and I went cold turkey with mistakes. My first mistake was bacon. I did not know some of them had sugar. Second mistake, too much cheese. Third mistakes, not enough electrolytes. The final mistake is expecting to have support. This is why I can not clean out my pantry.
I didn't figure this stuff out overnight. It's been a process. The biggest challenge most people face is living with someone who has to keep their junk food around. The solution? Different for every situation!
Shoot, I know a solution. Keep your items in a different section, plastic container box, and away from the cupboard with the junk so that you don’t ever have to open that one and see what’s inside and then get tempted by it. The food smells cooking. Well if dinner was around five consistently, I’m sure a game plan could be worked out for that or in expectation of that like go somewhere else, eat till your stuffed so that you are so full that it won’t bother you, play a musical instrument, do a hobby or watch a movie/t.v. or internet to distract you. Go for a walk outside.
Hasta haciendo mucha trampa he bajado peso. Hasta el App que uso, se sorprendió, ahora tengo mucha motivación para empezar nuevamente con seriedad. Pero lo más importante es que mi sistema digestivo a mejorado, ya me había acostumbrado a tener el mismo estómago mal.
I agree with everyone else who said what a great video this was. I especially liked the tips (or rules) about eating till you're stuffed (don't/won't think about food) and keeping cooked meat in the fridge ready to go (if you do feel like a snack). Stuff I haven't heard anywhere else. Keeping off the scales is also a great idea. Go with how you feel, not with what a scale says.
That last part about not thinking about eating is similar to not thinking about the engine burning gasoline in a combustion chamber - you just want to get from point A to point B! Very good Old Guy!
Mitch, thank you so much for this!! I’ve been trying to find the perfect carnivore video to share with my Dad who is 60, works two jobs has had two different kinds of cancers. He needs to hear the benefits of this lifestyle, so thank you for sharing your experiences with us! ☺️
I’m a carb addict. And love my beer. 2024 is the year to start carnivore. 30 days seems insurmountable for me. I think looking at 7 day increments is my best option to get going.
First, I went gluten free, then paleo, then keto to ketovore, and finally carnivore. So I never had any transitional symptoms, keto flu, etc. This was not some intelligent grand plan. It was just me figuring things out as I went along. It was also 15 years ago (keto for 15 years with the last 10 being carnivore). There was not much in the way of help to be found online back then. Yep, you never hear a lion saying, "Hmm. I'm not sure if I should have some more antelope meat or not. Let me plug the data into my chronometer so I will know." I love the white board and library background. Were you a teacher in your working life? This was an excellent summary. Very clearly presented and no-nonsense.
Thanks for the kind words, never a professional teacher unless you count the few years I spent as a flight instructor. Sounds like you and I have been on the same diet adventure all our lives.
@@OldGuyCarnivore Yes, I got started on this before it was "trending" (back when trend was not even a verb) because I has a seizure disorder for 35 years. It got somewhat better on keto but went away completely on carnivore.
Thanks for your video about how you started the carnivore diet. I was doing intermittent fasting, one or two meals a day, no snacking before adding the carnivore diet. After adding the carnivore diet, I continued to also do the intermittent fasting. It’s important to try to not eat for about 16 hours, or more per day, so that you can get autophagy hours each day. Autophagy is the process where the bad cells in your body are recycled and replaced with good cells. Autophagy starts after you stop eating for about 13 hours. Autophagy can also help reduce the amount of loose skin that you can have after you lose a lot of weight. I gradually added the carnivore die over about a two week time period. I experienced about a four hour time period of diarrhea as the changes took place in my body to run on ketones. Some people experience diarrhea for a few days. One of the things that makes intermittent fasting and the carnivore diet work do well is the fact that almost all of the hunger sensations that you used to feel, are gone. I threw out a lot of “foods” that I had in my refrigerator that were bad for the carnivore diet, starting with anything that contained high fructose corn syrup. I ate those bad “foods” when I was doing just the intermittent fasting diet, including junk foods like pretzels and potato chips. Since adding the carnivore diet, I no longer eat any of the junk foods. My maximum weight was 246, and I dropped 26 pounds doing intermittent fasting. I’m now in the lower 180’s, sometimes going down into the upper 170’s. I haven’t had that low weight since the mid teenage years, and I’m 68 years old now. I usually weigh several times per day to better track my weight loss journey. I have a scale that communications to an app on my iPhone, which records the weight. What kind of exercise are you doing? I do about six Zumba classes per week. I’ve recently added weight lifting exercises. Thanks again for being an inspiration for the old timers that need to lose weight and improve their health!
I do 45 minutes of HIIT (high intensity interval training) resistance training every other day. 6-8 reps 2 or 3 sets and I use enough weight that I can push to failure in less than 8 reps.
@@OldGuyCarnivore Thanks for you’re response! Years ago I did HIIT classes, but I found them to be too boring compared to the Zumba classes. Although, HIIT is supposed to be very effective. The Zumba classes also exercise your mind. The choreography matches different points in each song. The choreography isn’t random. So, you have to know what choreography is constantly coming up if you’re doing the Zumba alone or teaching a Zumba class. I started with dumbbell weight lifting with 5 and 8 pound dumbbells, following the Mind Pump RUclips channel.
Hi Mitch, I’m 78 and have been doing (mostly) carnivore for the last year. Your story is great to hear as there is so much of myself in there. I appreciate what you are doing as I can really relate to you as a fellow traveler. Thank you again and am looking forward to watch more of your version as I slowly appreciate and grow into my version. Cheers to you mate! 👏 from Tasmania, Australia.
Yes, it is a lifestyle. It usually comes with intentional eating, weight/strength/sport goals, excercise with purpose. No you dont need that much fat.. Dont worry about fat that comes with protein (1g/lb/day). Get enough salts. I added one element at a time and ended up using ALL the tools at the same time. Meat, dairy, excercise, IF, HIIT, good sleep. Based on your current state and control range the tools can be applied to tune your body to your purpose.
Dr Chaffee has the best burning fat body. All humans are saturated fat burners. I have RRMS and I lost 60Lbs in 16 months with zero exercise because I hurted too much. Now all my pain is gone and am starting to include more movement.
You are a walking talking example of what can be achieved, at any age and its inspirational. I am starting off as a full carnivore at 62 after being low carb, just to be as healthy as i can be and hopefully kick all auto immune issues into remission. Love your straightforward advice, to the point, i have subscribed and am off to binge on all of your videos. 🌼✨
Many compliments from Italy! I've watched dozens of carnivore videos on youtube, but none is more performing, concise and clear than yours, I immediately subscribed to your channel. Please keep it up!
One thing I have learned is that everyone learns to stick with a lifestyle change in there own way that makes them comfortable. What works for one does not always work for another. For instance I must step on the scale as it keeps me on task, stop doing that I go sideways.
Absolutely compelling! Thank you for this solid information. Eating Carnivore, like yourself, has transformed me - and for that I will forever grateful.
Thanks. I really appreciate that you simplified this. I mean, on the surface of it, it already sounded simple. Yet, I was apprehensive on how to start. So this gave me a level of confidence I didn't have.
Great video. I am 73 years old, eating one meal per day for the past few years. Started walking x 30 days and felt better. Then added some in home exercises and felt even better. Then began carnivore plus sprouted nuts an seeds. Now on day nine and feel great. Glad I found your Chanel, this is the best first 30 day video I have seen. Thank you.
I just realized that my piano is a fat burner... no, I'm just playin', haha! 63yo carnovore (2 years) You're right about how to be successful in this lifestyle. Take it easy with the protein, but don't fear the fat. Your body must learn to let it go.
Mitch, thank you for making these videos. Your message about our struggle with carb addiction is exactly right. I found your channel last week and said, No More Sugar.
Mr. OGC - this is one of the best video's concerning carnivore that I have watched - and I have watched a lot of them. I am 74 and have been thinking of trying the carnivore lifestyle for some time but I have not pulled the trigger yet. I have felt for sometime now that this just makes sense. Again, thanks for your inspiration and God Bless friend.
Excellent information! Thoroughly enjoyed the slide presentation. Brief and to the point! I recently got off of all processed foods meaning anything in a box, bag, or bottle- (soda, fruit juice, and coffee- I just drink water and electrolytes) it will be (3) months September 1st. I have just been eating Fresh fruits & fresh vegetables, grains & Legumes. I can’t do diary so no dairy for (3) months- very addictive. After watching your video I realize I do not have “food freedom”. I want food freedom. I am going to give this a go. THANK YOU so very much!
This is good information. I’m looking to go carnivore over the Christmas break. I can’t afford to be ill from the transition whilst at work right now. But listening to yourself and others on RUclips I may be over thinking it. I can’t stand prepping food so the simplicity is appealing to me.
start reducing carbs now, it will help go full carnivore a lot sooner then Christmas with no side affects... switch one meal a day then do another meal a week later..
Thank you, this was a very well thought out presentation and filled with common sense. Also, it was simple. I will be using it as a guide when I start...
Thanks so much for your video, very well done… I did the cold turkey. I don’t think it was my imagination… I felt better, or felt the difference rather in as littlest two days. Definitely the first week… Lost 24 pounds the first month. Had a doctors appointment shortly after and he informed me that I lost 30 pounds but did not like the fact that I was on the carnivore diet. He basically told me that he knew I was going to be fat, he knew I wasn’t going to lose weight, but I needed to go back on a regular diet Because of my cholesterol… So now my cholesterol is improving, and my blood work showed that my insulin resistance is gone… I think I was at 78 before and the latest bloodwork was at 23… Which supposedly is very very insulin sensitive. Anyway close to 40 pounds down now… I’ve been on it 2 1/2 … Months, the desire for bread, pasta, cereals, etc. and highly processed. Carbs is completely gone… Hershey Kisses taste like wax now. I don’t eat cakes and pies, but I do still desire them… And of course, potatoes, vegetables and fruits I could take them or leave them… The sweet tooth is going away. The desire for steak is strong… But the strongest desire is for bacon… And the fact that lard, butter, as well as beef tallow is healing to the body is awesome. Thanks again for being out here… As a sidenote, I love the size of the screen against the bookshelf…!! Good backdrop! I am 57 years old… I feel so much better than I did years ago
Thanks Dante, sounds like you are off to a great start. I can't tell you to ignore your doctor, but I've gotten mine to the stage where she respects my knowledge and doesn't give me advice.
Priming sounds like a great way to make yourself hate meat! Otherwise, most of this advice seems pretty good - best to keep it as simple & easy as possible. My first step - after 46 years of not eating any red meat at all - has been to find out what types of meat I can eat and enjoy. This has involved developing a whole new set of cooking skills, because cooking red meat is quite different from cooking chicken or fish. I've done keto before, but now I am aware of needing to avoid high oxalate foods, which had become my staples. Weaning off these is not quite like weaning off junk/processed food, but it is still a bit of a process. And I totally agree with #11 - this has been my downfall in the past!
Was recommended to watch your videos by my son who has me on a carnivore diet. My aches and inflammation pain are gone now in less than a week. Your testimony was great too!
This is amazing. Im 71 and I'm just trying to catch up to ya! LOL... What a huge change already, I'm feeling wonderful.. keep making these videos, I'm following. xoxo
Hey, I just wanna say this is a very down to earth, to the point video. I'm just getting started on our actual carnivore, and I don't really expect it to be that tough, but this will help a lot.
Just came across you channel and love it. I have subscribed. Yes, shopping and eating is so simplified now. I am happy eaating carnivore !! Love not being hungry and happy to know that at almost 50 year's old...the best is yet to come. You are a inspiration
I have tried and failed carnivore several times and just about gave up, but I've never heard of priming so I'm going to give it another go. I'm 63, female, and about 60 lbs overweight.
Priming can help. My version of it is a little different. Just try to eat more than you think you can for at least 30 days. NEVER even allow yourself to get hungry!
I started the BBBE diet 2 weeks ago and have been galavanting all over the internet looking for the right information. How to budget, real beef and bacon was just a rare treat for many years. When do I start see the benefits? What should be happening? Do I need to supplement? Today this random Old Guy shows up on my YT feed and I am impressed, with some beginners like me in the comments. Looks like I'll be hanging around, I really like and understand what I found here. One question, how in the heck do I get my fat intake up that high?? All my life fat was the enemy, this is definatly a new learning curve.
Thanks for the kind message. How do I get enough fat is an issue I want to address a whole video to. I will get to it soon, but in a nutshell, all food that comes from animals contains the correct ratio of fat to protein. That is how all animals and early humans prospered as they didn't have scales and calculators. An egg contains the exact amount of fat, bacon, fatty cuts of beef like brisket, ribeye, chuck, 73-27 hanburger, etc. also contain exactly the right ratio. That is why this is so easy to do. Just add some fat if you eat lean protein like chicken breast, pork loin, lean beef, etc. Eat dark meat chicken with the skin and you get what you need. I generally add some butter to make up for some of the fat lost in cooking. Better too much fat than not enough. Hope that helps.
Yes, it helped, thank you. One YT carnivor said to add 1 tbsp of butter per egg, and I was thinking that can't be right. I have been adding a bit of butter but worried I wasn't doing this right. Very much looking forward to your 'fat' video.
@@OldGuyCarnivore I’ve tried the diet before but had a lot of difficulty eating enough. I find ground beef hard to get down on its own for some reason. I seem to do a lot better with whole cuts like steak, chuck, etc. so I’m going to try that this time
@@cilo902 Not eating enough, especially enough fat is a very common occurrence. I eat a lot of bacon and eggs, both foods with a perfect fat to protein ratio and nothing tastes better than bacon ....lol
The biggest question I have is why lamb doesn't sit at number one. Talk about a fatty red meat. Perhaps it's the price. We raise our own so that's not a barrier here. Lamb roasts, ribs, etc cooked in my Ronco Showtime melts in my mouth. Been eating and enjoying it for about 40 years now so it's a no brainer to just gorge on lamb with beef as my break along with our free run eggs and chicken. Just purchased a pork belly yesterday so that will be new. I'm doing carnivore for cancer, energy, muscle building, testosterone and all around health. At 76 I am amazed by the lies we were brought up on and what those lies have done to all of us. Keep spreading the truth Mitch and all👍😎👌
If I'm not mistaken, lamb is way more popular in Europe than here. Maybe it's Just tradition. Come to think of it I haven't had lamb in quite a while.......
Hi Mitch. 👋 This video is fantastic!! I will be watching it again. I have just started Carnivore and this is the best video I have seen. Please keep on sharing your knowledge cause I really need it. Take care and may God bless you. 😊
Thanks for Sharing your version of the diet. The nuances of how we do this matter. I just started doing the carnivore journey and documenting it on my Channel and seeing the nuances of how everyone does it are useful. I totally agree that focusing on the immediate future of ketosis has to be the priority. The first time I tried to do keto I tried to workout and do everything but it is just way too much to do sustainably.
I absolutely love your content!!!!! I’m 50 years old and I’ve been following this carnivorous lifestyle for about three months now. This way of eating has completely reversed my type 2 diabetes and I have so far lost 46 pounds. I’ve got about 70 more pounds I’d like to lose. My energy level has gone through the roof!! I’m looking forward to the other health issues I have to eventually go away as well. Thank you for what you do! I’m currently working through all of your videos as I just found you yesterday. Thank you and God bless from Franklin Kentucky!!!!
I am not overweight (too much LOL), but because of feeling tired at age 60, I decided to give it a try (30 days ago). It seems completely ridiculous based on the SAD (which is S***), even at 180 pounds, I have lost 5 pounds. Its an awesome video, and even thought I am past the 30-day period, I think its spot-on. I also add corned beef, and other stuff with my hamburger (70-30 fat), and liver, to add flavor to the mix. Its the simplest diet and lifestyle in the world. Tomorrow is day 31, so I will drop the 1-banana (20 carbs) a day that I have had during the first 30 days. Also, I live in the Philippines, so I drink coconut as a form of natural electrolytes. Peace love and light to you. May your god bless you!
That, unfortunately, along with addiction, is one of the major destroyers of our efforts to get healthy. Would those people drink in front of you if you were a recovering alcoholic? Probably not. Ask for their help by assisting you in avoiding things that trigger your addiction, lecture them on what food addiction is, and tell them to keep and eat their donuts in their own rooms. Good luck!
I've been eating a keto diet for four years. Next month I will be switching over to carnivore. I appreciate your channel and the experience you share. I am 65 years young.
Great info. I have always done this as an elimination diet, but I'm now looking at it as a long term permenant fixture. This was very educational. By the way I highly recommend finding a local dairy farm and buying a while jersey steer for butcher and have it cut exactly as you like it. It's way cheaper and that breed had delicious meat.
When I was young my dad worked with a guy whose family raised cattle (wasn't really big enough to be what I would think of as a "ranch"). My dad had an agreement with the guy that whenever they slaughtered a steer for their own use he wanted to buy half of it. They already had a good relationship with a local butcher, so it was a very easy way to get great beef at a good price without having to buy a whole steer.
@@OldGuyCarnivore Florida produces a surprising amount of beef. Given your channel promoting the Carnivore Diet, I would bet a bit of legwork (maybe quite a bit) would turn up at least one outfit that takes retail orders for a side of beef. You might even find one that has an affiliate program.
This was well delivered. I don't agree with all of it but I am convinced, more than ever, that there are many wats to eat and be healthy; This is one of them.
omg ! i wish i had seen your video months ago ! you're explaining it so well and simply. i had watched so many others when i started, feeling bad with migraines or nausea; with this stuff of "fasting" , i try not to eat in the morning even though i was sometimes hungry. i still am. watching your video makes me want to make some changes and try to start in a different way, more listening to my body instead of continuing of starving because i feel i am still addicted to food (even if it is butter or beef) still have cravings, i just want to be free of food , just like you said " food freedom " . thanks for explaining how to start and how to do it ! i will rewatch it because very interesting and helpful to go on this journey. thank you !
Stay brilliant, Sir….I’m 63 with disastrous metabolic health. I’ve started today. I’ll probably eat only OMAD since I don’t feel like eating more. Your videos will help. Thank you. Doug
I think It is very important, at least it was for me, to not do intermittent fasting during the first 30 days, but to make sure that I was getting an adequate supply of ALL the nutrients into my body, hungry or not. I made sure that I wasn't eating too little.
@OldGuyCarnivore I apologize, Sir...last question. Did you use any seasoning for your meals? I'm aware of store bought are full of sugar. Lemon with fish? Garlic with Chicken? Etc...thank you
I really like your videos, thinking about going carnivore, already keto, and I think you've convinced me. Thanks for what you do. Oh and I totally agree with the keto versions of food note, it is a total trap to try to do that.
This video was helpful for me, Mitch. I like short videos with a simple, good content as you do it! This is good for my nerves. Most of the other carnivore influencers are talking too long in my opinion. Hope you can understand my bad English, from Germany. Have a good day!
Very good advice. I too love starting the day in the sun for a few minutes, getting a nice dose to start the day. Also.. I like starting my day with a coffee.. I throw it in a blender with a tbsp of coconut oil and tbsp of salted butter. Tastes exactly like a latte.
Then I'll be the Really Old Guy Carnivore.... lol
You look and sound great!!
I'm 31, weigh over 300 pounds and have been morbidly obese since i was 16 or 17. I've tried many diets over the years and can't stick with them. With my natural preference for meat over all other foods, I'm hoping this will be one i can stick with.
You can do it
You can doit 🎉❤
I'm 46, I'm currently 289lbs (or thereabouts), been morbidly obese as far back as I can remember. I've tried many things over the years that had varying levels of success. I've started carnivore before several times and then fell off the wagon, I've been on again for the past 7 days. This is the best channel I've seen on how to handle the mental challenges of sustaining the lifestyle.
I wish you success in your journey.
Please come back and let us know how you're doing? There's really not a lot to think about, reduce all the refined foods and carbs, eat meat, feel better. You got this.
I am 73 yrs old. You are making me feel there is hope for me yet. Thank you so much for a great video. God Bless ❤
At 72 years of age, im amazed at my future self 🎉
Yesss!
That's quite an endorsement Perry, many thanks.
I’m 60 years old. I’ve just been doing carnivore diet for 10 days and I see the changes. At random and I’ve came across your channel and I am already full of admiration. You should compile all your saying and writing in a book. Life changing lessons.
Thank you Luis.
Keep it up! Soooo worth it!
Thank you my friend ❤😅
Kings eat meat while peasants, slaves, prisoners eat wheat. Thousands of years of history shows us this very fact.
Nothing has changed, the global elite certainly aren't eating impossible burgers at the state dinners!

Let me wish you the best of luck!
This is the best, most concise advice video on how to start carnivore that I’ve seen. And I’ve watched hundreds of carnivore videos! Thank you ❤
Wow, quite a compliment, thank you!
You and fellow commenters here have inspired me to go at it again to get that "final BRAIN switch FROM carb cravings."
PSThank you for your slides as they are concise and fantastic.
WHY SHOULD I …??
i am just starting carnivore . I have had high LDL and am 70. Wondering if your cholesterol has lowered or risen since going carnivore.
Hi barb….no meds👍good for you…
Do you eat just meat? Any eggs?
I live in a household of 5 people and I'm the only carnivore. The first few weeks were a little rough, when i started. It's been a year and a half and now I don't crave any of the things I shouldn't eat! I rarely think of food at all. I'm down to eating one meal a day and rarely am I hungry! It changes the whole way you look at food. I highly recommend going carnivore!👍😎
yep....food is just fuel! If hunger is not the problem, food is not the answer! :))))
I appreciate getting this advice from a senior that is living proof it works please keep going. I am weening myself and my husband to carnivore and watching content and seeing success in the senior community is very important.
Please continue to help us with beginner steps! It’s so important to hear!!
Thanks for the great compliment.
@@OldGuyCarnivore I'm convinced you are right, and today i am committed to the 30 days x😊
You just popped up and I clicked on immediately. Get ready, your channel is gonna blow up! YOU ARE GREAT!!!! Carnivore saves lives and you are a great representative of the lifestyle. Be Blessed!
Thanks so much. I am shocked and elated at the reception I have received in the last few weeks.
I just started carnivore on July 1st. I'm not having cravings for sugar anymore and I'm not hungry between meals. Amazing so far. Grocery shopping sure got easier. 🎉
Yep!!!
Brother I thought you were way younger than 76.
You look great man.
You give me hope as I get older.
Thank you my friend.
I just turned 70. I’ve tried Carnivore and would always fall off. I watched two parter on how to start the carnivore diet. I don’t know what message it was but the simplicity that you presented it’s working. I am a type two diabetic I was averaging about 230 my numbers I’m not down to 150. I even hit a 128 the other day so somethings working, thank you
I'm very glad to hear that, thank you.
I'm 78 and just starting out. Watched all your videos and love tbem. The other day I did a simple recipe with Planko crumbs and it completely derailed me. All of a sudden I craved fruit and chocolate which I didn't eat often. Yes, fruit I ate a lot of every day.
Addictions are insidious, and the best we can do is to learn what triggers them in us individually
My pleasure, thanks for the nice compliments
Wow Mitch, you are amazing. Not only do you know how to do technology better than me, you also understand processed food addiction. I subscribed. You are going to help so many people. I just binge watched all your videos. I don’t know you, but I’m really proud of you. Just amazing stuff. Stay yourself, keep this channel going with just being you. You are relevant and you bring value to this world, thank you for your work!!
Too kind, my friend. Yes, I have a strong tech background for an old guy.
Well said. i too think Mitch is amazing.
Good for you
Great what you have done for yourself!🏆I agree with you about the Diet Sabotaging!👍I'm Eating 99% Meat🥩. Better mental Clarity now, Fatty liver & psoriasis is gone, healthy gums, no more Stomach issues & much more..!👍😎👍
So what you're saying is this thing actually works? Imagine that!
I have learned a lot from the younger carnivores but have been actively searching for anyone closer to my age. You are spot on about recreating fake versions of the foods that got us here. Best of luck to you on your new venture and I look forward to watching your videos.
Thank you!
I am starting day 31 ! Everything you mention is SPOT ON !!! 🎉
I just walk.
That a great downside
me too@@meatavoreNana
Hi valentine..lol your so right I did the same.. best to you
Same for me.The best way for me to get compliance in the house is by example. Once they all SEE the change and benefits, you'll have their interest. 🙏
Yes! Have food ready to go! If I crave something I have some bacon...no matter what time it is. That works for me.
Glad it was helpful!
I’m a carb addict. And love my beer. 2024 is the year to start carnivore. 30 days seems insurmountable for me. I think looking at 7 day increments is my best option to get going.
Go for the 30!
One Day at a time. 🥰🥰🥰
This is the best introduction to ketogenic eating I have seen.
Thank you!
Let me plug the data into my chronometer so I will know."
I love the white board and library background.
Thanks for the kind words my friend!

That means the world to me, Thanks so much.
Exactly!!
One thing I have learned is that everyone learns to stick with a lifestyle change in there own way that makes them comfortable. What works for one does not always work for another. For instance I must step on the scale as it keeps me on task, stop doing that I go sideways.
I Step on the scale a lot too. I just meant during the first 30 days as the goal is only to start changing metabolism.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you.
Thank you so much, I appreciate that compliment
I just realized that my piano is a fat burner... no, I'm just playin', haha! 63yo carnovore (2 years) You're right about how to be successful in this lifestyle. Take it easy with the protein, but don't fear the fat. Your body must learn to let it go.
Mitch, thank you for making these videos. Your message about our struggle with carb addiction is exactly right. I found your channel last week and said, No More Sugar.
That's great! Best of luck.
I am 84 and I wish I had heard you before I started all the keto products. Keep up the good work. ❤❤
Well done , it's never too late. God Bless.
I’m 78 and I’m on my 8th day of carnivore having been on keto for a couple of years.
Good luck, let me know how it is working out.
@@OldGuyCarnivore I will … thank you for the encouragement.
Glad it was helpful!
Common sense is what i like best about MITCH
I wish you all the best. This sounds like a drastic change for you, so ease into it over a month or two.
Good work. We’re all in this together. You’re not obsolete because of your age. Keep posting 👌
Was recommended to watch your videos by my son who has me on a carnivore diet. My aches and inflammation pain are gone now in less than a week. Your testimony was great too!
You have a smart son!
This is amazing. Im 71 and I'm just trying to catch up to ya! LOL... What a huge change already, I'm feeling wonderful.. keep making these videos, I'm following. xoxo
Way to go!
Hey, I just wanna say this is a very down to earth, to the point video. I'm just getting started on our actual carnivore, and I don't really expect it to be that tough, but this will help a lot.
Glad you enjoyed it
Just came across you channel and love it. I have subscribed. Yes, shopping and eating is so simplified now. I am happy eaating carnivore !! Love not being hungry and happy to know that at almost 50 year's old...the best is yet to come. You are a inspiration
New sub. Great video. I've tried a few times. Never actually got to 30 days.. I'll be starting again. After I go food shopping
Thank you for all these tips. I started today
Let me know how you make out and best of luck!
@@OldGuyCarnivoreagreed.
The BEST “ WHAT TO DO for the FIRST 30 days of my CARNIVORE diet “ video ever !!!!!!
Mitch, EXPLAINS the BEST ❤
Very kind of you to say, thank you
Great points, well done.
@@OldGuyCarnivore my wife said yesterday "have you seen the price of lamb at the store?" Perhaps that's why 🤔
Hi Mitch. 👋 This video is fantastic!! I will be watching it again. I have just started Carnivore and this is the best video I have seen. Please keep on sharing your knowledge cause I really need it. Take care and may God bless you. 😊
Thank you Margaret
Thanks for Sharing your version of the diet. The nuances of how we do this matter. I just started doing the carnivore journey and documenting it on my Channel and seeing the nuances of how everyone does it are useful. I totally agree that focusing on the immediate future of ketosis has to be the priority. The first time I tried to do keto I tried to workout and do everything but it is just way too much to do sustainably.
Thanks Salim. I just subscribed to your channel and I'll be keeping an eye on you... lol. Don't screw up!
@@OldGuyCarnivore haha copy that!
Great tips on beginning this adventure. Thank you!!!
You are so welcome!
Thanks so much and I hope you don't get to tired of me after all those videos ....lol
Just keep going!!! It's worth it!! Life is worth living!!!
This was the best how to begin video I've seen. I'm starting tomorrow.
Glad to hear it!
Thank you!
Starting at 78 yrs 3 weeks ago and this is good advice Now how to live with people who are not Carnivores.
Good luck!
@@OldGuyCarnivore Thank you so much 😊
Be ready to disappoint people, I've already had to explain to friends why I can eat this or that. Don't let anyone screw with your health.
@@danvitale1825 Thank you for the encouragement
I've been eating a keto diet for four years. Next month I will be switching over to carnivore. I appreciate your channel and the experience you share. I am 65 years young.
Best of luck!
I yelled at my sister the other day when she suggested I look into these keto wraps. I said I only want whole foods!
Don't ever buy anything in a package that has the word "keto" on it!
Morning and thumbs up, i defo need to change what i eat and stop smoking, but you are right
I have heard from people who have been there that breaking addictions is a lot easier on a carnivore diet than on the SAD.
HI, I am an old guy 68. Meat mostly 98%
Older not old. It tends to last longer that way........that this way of eating will do.
I did almost the same thing my first 30 days! Great intro advice!
Thanks for the tip about the steer
When I was young my dad worked with a guy whose family raised cattle (wasn't really big enough to be what I would think of as a "ranch"). My dad had an agreement with the guy that whenever they slaughtered a steer for their own use he wanted to buy half of it. They already had a good relationship with a local butcher, so it was a very easy way to get great beef at a good price without having to buy a whole steer.
@@christopherstewart9874 I wish I had a neighbor like that!
@@christopherstewart9874 Not a bad idea Christopher
The perfect advice for newbies!
This was well delivered. I don't agree with all of it but I am convinced, more than ever, that there are many wats to eat and be healthy; This is one of them.
I agree
Thanks for sharing your wisdom Mitch
omg ! i wish i had seen your video months ago ! you're explaining it so well and simply. i had watched so many others when i started, feeling bad with migraines or nausea; with this stuff of "fasting" , i try not to eat in the morning even though i was sometimes hungry. i still am. watching your video makes me want to make some changes and try to start in a different way, more listening to my body instead of continuing of starving because i feel i am still addicted to food (even if it is butter or beef) still have cravings, i just want to be free of food , just like you said " food freedom " . thanks for explaining how to start and how to do it ! i will rewatch it because very interesting and helpful to go on this journey. thank you !
Thanks for your kind remarks and good luck!
@@OldGuyCarnivore wow….you changed my thinking. Ok….appreciate it, Sir.
@OldGuyCarnivore I apologize, Sir...last question. Did you use any seasoning for your meals? I'm aware of store bought are full of sugar. Lemon with fish? Garlic with Chicken? Etc...thank you
This was excellent. Thank you!
Great info , definitely gonna help this reasonably old guy ! cheers Mitch 👍
Wow you are very awesome my friend. Your videos are so motivating.
Thank you very much brother Mitch💯💙
I really like your videos, thinking about going carnivore, already keto, and I think you've convinced me. Thanks for what you do. Oh and I totally agree with the keto versions of food note, it is a total trap to try to do that.
This video was helpful for me, Mitch.
I like short videos with a simple, good content as you do it! This is good for my nerves. Most of the other carnivore influencers are talking too long in my opinion. Hope you can understand my bad English, from Germany. Have a good day!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very good advice.
I too love starting the day in the sun for a few minutes, getting a nice dose to start the day.
Also.. I like starting my day with a coffee.. I throw it in a blender with a tbsp of coconut oil and tbsp of salted butter. Tastes exactly like a latte.
