Spent years mountain biking in Peru. Mostly Huaraz with a great guide named Julio Olaza. It's an incredible place! Thanks. It brought back many memories.
Amazing video! As a peruvian im really ashamed for the road blocks and problems you've encountered, but thanks for for the good spirit and showing our trails to the world! Cheers!
Pedro Castillo is the most corrupted President in the Peruvian History. His nephews, his wife, his sister-in-law, his acquantances, etc. A mafia that took over the money of all Peruvians since the first second of his government.
My husband and I hiked the trails to Machu Picchu back in Sept of 2001. The 3 day hike was incredible. Machu Picchu was amazing! We got back to California the night before 9/11. I can’t even imagine what it would have been like being stuck in Peru if we hadn’t gotten back on 9/10. Anyway, your video took me back to our hike experience in 2001. The Andes mountains are so beautiful. Thank you for sharing your ride. ❤
Thank you so much, for all the kind words you dedicate to my country, with no complaints for the many problems you had here (what a shame!). Also for the accurate information you bring about peruvian food, and the geography and climate of Cusco. That reveals you really apreciate the information and attention that local people give you, and share it to the World. From a man who has done mtb in the most legendary places of America, Europe and Asia, that means a lot. A big huge from a new suscriber from Peru!
Even by your high standards, that was an amazing video. Can't believe how you are able to talk while riding so fast along trails with such extreme exposure!
I had to laugh when you said, "Oh, Peru! Never heard of it!" My husband is from Arequipa and I pretty much felt the same way before meeting him. My f-i-l makes the BEST Ceviche I've ever had and we all love Chi-Cha. Did you get to try that drink? Yummy!! Glad you had an excellent experience! The Peruvians are incredibly generous and hospitable! And I'm pretty sure my husband hiked those trails in his younger days since he has extended family in Cusco.
Oh my gosh, so beautiful, can’t get enough of those mountains. You are having a blast, your bike looks great and the video quality is superb! Thanks for taking us on your adventure!
Thanks for these videos. I live in the Northstate and have a friend who is from Peru (born and raised). Has told me the mountain biking is sooo good, then I read about it in a National Geographic book on destinations outside the U.S. Watching this confirmed all I've read and heard. Need to make a trip some day.
Sick new bike, sick trip, and sick video! I was just on Mount Kenya 16,000 plus feet look a lot like Peru. Also, thanks to you/Trail One for all that you do for trail advocacy!
Looks Awesome. I was there is 2006 for the Mega avalanche that year. I recognize some of those trails. It was a once in a lifetime trip for me. I would love to go back!
wow, you have been here for the 2006 mega avalanche with some pro riders who came that year too, i bet that was awesome, yes bro you should come back and ride all the amazing trails around.
Another great vid. Love the new Ripmo. It might be the camera, but it looks like your handlebars are narrower. Your dropper post lever is closer to the trail one logo than your blue ripmo. Looking forward the next video.
If I had unlimited money, I'd probably start an MTB travel channel that takes you on amazing trails and ends up teaching you about local history/customs/culture around the world. I'd have to say your channel is the closest to this right now 🔥
Been watching you for years and I have to say this might be my favorite video of yours. Beautiful scenery, incredible trails, and just so wild to see how the trails are built into the landscape there. Would love to see you lean into the travel aspects in future videos a bit more!
Queenstown New Zealand (South Island in general). Awesome destination. Skyline bike park. The fernhill loop. Day trips to Glendhu, the various ski hills, and the less visited but awesome Alexandra. That's where all the NZ rocks are! Steep chutes, rock rolls and drops, a bit of exposure, it has it all and then some. Highly recommend having a local guide, if in doubt, 'follow the pink dots'! I'd love to add Peru to the bucket list, just need to make some room in there!
I’m from NZ. Just ordered a Ripmo frame like the one Brian has here. The Nelson/Tasman region where I’m from has some incredible trails including the Wairoa gorge.
Told you bro , from the first day when you had no bike and no luggage you had hope , and that’s all you needed bro and now it’s turning into an epic journey 👍🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
That place looks amazing-been a bucket list adventure to me for a long time.I hope I can experience that part of the world in my lifetime. Also like to see people stand up for their freedom from opression- something us "first world"people have forgotten...or sold
If you are in Cusco and the Sacred Valley, you have to make the trek on the Inca Trail!! You don't go all that way without the incredible Inca trek to Machu Pichu!!
Dude! Just gorgeous video. Yeah, loved this one. How does this compare against Spain? This reminds me of that, but more rugged. As a Colombian, I'm jealous that Peru has such beauty. Wow!!!
Wow! Such a fantastic video! I love your bike handling skills! Have you ever thought of doing the race Mountain Hell or Megavalanche? They would be a great video.
Nice video i enjoyed every minute. Peru 🇵🇪 is very beautiful. Nice bike as well, the bikes we have here in Jamaica would be broken in pieces after one minute on one of those trails.
You made me feel so jealous..I like to go around here in LA, Pasadena, Oak Park, etc...But nothing like this in my own City...Cusco..I am leaving in a month to Peru and definatly I'll try to get a bike for some fun...Thank you for sharing this great adventure..
Hello! 👋 Yeeees, I've seen the previous vids of Peru, I'm glad that the bike and the GoPro came back to you. Nice trails there, man. My wife was a little bit curious and watched this episode with me and she said, I quote: "I would be scared to walk those trails" 😀 I said to her that I would love to ride this kind of trails in the future. You inspire me, man. Love your adventures. Health to you, keep riding those trails, I'll be waiting the next video. 🇹🇩Greetings from Romania 👋
Guess what ? you don’t need to wait!! The next one is already on patreon and with an awesome and epic extended version. Yes! What are you waiting for!!
Damn, I need to travel!! I'd love to do a MTB trip like this. I've done some MTBing in Northern Thailand, but somewhere like Peru would be amazing or elsewhere in SA. Awesome scenery!!
I heard you should set your suspension to bottom out or come close to bottoming out on your rough rides. I noticed your oring on your fork had a ways to go after going down the double black diamond ride. How do you set up your suspension? Maybe I am running mine too soft.
Only been riding 2yrs and I really want to try this. Just have to start putting some cash away and make it happen. I wonder if it is advisable to bomb a hardtail down it

Huaraz is amazing and super cheap too

For sure, that cockpit looks so good with the colors and Ibis’s new logo, also a perfect video to showcase the new bike. Awesome!
Wow, you guys are just hauling down those trails, especially considering they're all new to you. Nice job!
