Thank you to both of you Chris’s. You definitely touched my heart. I’m 29 from Singapore, and also took the science route despite favouring design for stability and to make parents proud. I only recently took the plunge to become an interior designer. However my family fell into financial turmoil the past few months (parent lost entire life savings to a crypto love scam), and knowing I’m not getting paid as a commission-based designer for the next several months until each project is completed, is really tough (working odd jobs in the meantime). Throw in a break up, family estrangement, 2x ankle sprains and Covid. I felt like a shell of myself the past few weeks, and seriously considering to jump ship and find another job (even minimum wage) just to get a regular income. You’ve helped to renew my spirits. I’ll stick it out and see it through. 💪 Thank you. 🖤
I'm so glad this showed up on my feed! Time to watch and listen in a week is limited, especially longer form content, and this was worth every second... beautifully cut and edited. I'm inspired. Thanks for the post!
So thankful that I came across this. I spent close to 7 years freelancing living a double life between my business and working for other companies/agencies. The pandemic forced me to sit down and get that breather. I made the decision to go all in because I’ve always dreamed of starting my own studio for design & photography. As a POC myself, this was so inspirational and right on time!
NOT GONNA HOLD YOU! I've been watching this channel for years & have NEVER applied the tactics cause I'm from small town MS.. "that doesn't work here". To me Mo is the EXCEPTION. But seeing someone that looks like me... from MISSISSIPPI do it! MIND BLOWN! GAME CHANGING! I needed this today.
Awesome. This is inspiring! Thanks Chris and Chris for this one! Just 8 months ago I lived in my aunts home with my family and no job. I started doing web development, digital transformation, and experience which ended up with me landing a web dev job with a startup. As a digital developer, I aimed to get to $2500 a month for management and landed my first two client. Going up to $5000 with the new knowledge I have acquired.
My son sent me this video and I am so happy he did. He started with a Thank you note for believing and supporting him. He sees himself in Chris F. This episode taught him more and underlined his desire to succeed despite the many setbacks. Great conversation! I did learn a lot, too. Mom of Nix Perada (future one of the 1% of the happiest people)
I have so much respect for the way Chris Do has utilized The Futur to discuss the deeply emotional other half of being a creative -- especially as it relates to our families. These are the topics that dig deep, far beyond just design tips. Keep this going bro, I'm happy to listen to all of these critical discussions ✊🏽
I love that so many creative professionals go through graphic design to get to other niches. That's why I chose it as my major - I thought of it like the defacto creative professional degree that would give me options.
Even after 30 years of running a freelance career and now starting a retail business. In a way, with all the new information and learning curves involved has always elements of starting something new.
What a story! I’m glad I watched the entire video. After listening to Chris Franklin’s story & hearing the advice he’d give to his 19 year old self, it gave me a wake up call to believe in myself more & to give 100% in my video career. Wow! Thank you Chris Do & The Futur for sharing this episode. 🔥🙏🏻
There is this gentleness in Franklin's voice that just exudes his true character and I'm so glad Chris pointed it out because my mom used to say to me that if you stay optimistic, it will resonate in your very being and in turn in every part of your life even your work and she had it and I always admired it :) This podcast especially was just so humbling and the emotional, deep level conversations which many crave. I have never had an interest in video editing but damn do I have some now just cause of Franklin's way of expressing himself :) much love to the futur and Franklin for this!
This video made my day thank you for the inspiration and I can relate to this story. I'm on my journey as a creative. thank you Chris Do and Chris Franklin💪
Thank you so much for sharing this. I relate to this man's backstory with his father and his current point in life with becoming confident in you career. MUCH NEEDED!
Newly subscribed, and already so much inspired! The "safe" road led me to a mediocre mid-level career in business and administration, hurting my back but thanks to a bike accident on the way to work, I broke my shoulder which allowed me to re-evaluate my entire life. Since then, my stifled creativity is finally expressing itself. Thanks a million for helping the world 💜
What an excellent insight and a real inspirational story, it's so good to see others succeed in what makes them happy. Thank you Chris and thank you Chris for sharing your story, I think you are both truly magnificent people ❤
Wow! That's a beautiful and emotional story! Most creative people have high emotional intelligence, and being loved and appreciated by people we love and respect is everything.
This is a very helpful and insightful conversation, thanks to both Chris's for taking the time to share and open up. loved the questions and honesty 😀💙🙏
Bro, as he was telling the first few parts of his story, i realized that it’s very similar to my story. From the upbringing to where I am now transitioning into video production trying to prove my father wrong, that I can do it on my own. Show that this my passion Being vulnerable etc
Thank you for this video. I am a high school teacher and I am sharing this video with my students in my Arts and A/V classes. I truly believe it is my job to give students exposure to different possibilities and allow them to create their own paths. Thank you for telling your story.
I stream this video at once when I saw this on my notifications, and I thought I will hear a lot of golden creative information like what this channel usually gives but I ended up feeling emotionally energized. This is something so deep and it's therapeutic! Thanks for this TheFutur and Chris!! More power to you guys 🔥 🔥
I love Chris' journey. I know the feeling of being told "uh...yeah we decided..." but he came out better on the other side, and left without any ill will. Chris struggles with talking about money, even at his level? haha Its a process I find myself hesitating saying the numbers as well, despite watching futur vids and practicing.
I’m very happy to have found your channel! I’d Love to see videos with other kinds of creatives. There are so many parallels within the professional creative experience to share experience of that would be very helpful to a much larger community. Photographers, Hairdressers, artists, makeup artists, etc.
Man, thanks Chris squared. I've battled with accepting my choice of getting into filmmaking. I've never gotten validation from my family even when I was doing well and now that I'm not doing as well, it's hard to remain grounded. This makes me know that I'll bet okay. 🙏
What an amazing episode this was. I love this hour long videos, I watch them as a movie. Great story by Chris and I could definitely relate to the part where he confronted his dad, because I was in those shoes 10 years ago.
Wish i could post comments about your trip to the phils but alas im just a follower on the fb account. So ill post it here. I have officially started the "buy a futur product and save for when chris comes back to the phils fund". Im currently working on building my own diy company and brand. And am learning so much from the free content, that i feel it's a crime if i dont buy something soon. Ps. Pls do a cebu visit too. I can even organize the whole cebu trip for us. (I used to have a tourist van business so i know how to get around the best spots).
@@thefutur ohh cool! so the march trip does include cebu. I have a question about the products. Im specifically looking at the core kit and the pro group membership. Are those two separate things? Or does the pro group have access to the core kit and the other products?
This was such an amazing experience, Chris. Thank you so much for having me! Can’t wait to see you so again, soon! 🖤

You are wisdom personified bro. Thank you for speaking from your heart.
It's always heartwarming to see a fellow Black/African American male Mississippi native successful in life!

Money isn’t evil. It’s how we use it.

Please Chris, shed more light on what you were referring to, when you said it has to be under 30%. Time stamp 41:33
Ok OSA. Let me rewatch. Thank you for including the time stamp.

I used to believe those emotions must be suppressed and controlled. But not anymore.
That is not healthy.
I have to express myself and let it out.

@@thefutur maybe a bit too emotional. Then again my expectations were a bit different! I love the channel btw.

Nice video as podcast but not very helpful on how to start a creative business

Update… same with the CrediCard yeesusssss!
