DOFP pissed me off the most with the poor treatment of the Sentinels, that was the last straw. i finally sat down and watched it and thought it was alright, it wasn't bad but it wasn't Winter Solider good.
This movie for me went down hill when professor x died. They should of kept some xmen alive by saying they retired or left. Then bring them in during that forest scene. Making the place the kids were at or going to where mutants were at.
When she called him "Daddy" for the first time in the film, that absolutely destroyed me. That was one of the most beautiful death scenes that I've seen in years.
- HADOUKEN- Making it sadder makes it better. Professor X's brain wasn't even in good condition either way. Downhill my ass kid. You just have bad taste
Luke M Eh, kind of. I didn't mind the portrayal but some things were off. Him being short and not morphing in size, other than in Charles' mind was one of them.
The Logan movie is more of the story of both Logan and Laura, and it has a much stronger message about what you can leave behind for future generations. Even though Logan's life is filled with disappointment, he can still create a better future for Laura. He can leave behind his hopes and dreams rather than his regrets. And that's ultimately true for the X-Men too. They may be gone, but their hopes will carry on with the young mutants. And despite how Logan dismissed Laura's comics as being made up fantasy, the film says a lot about the importance of the comics. Laura lives in a terrible reality where she was created to be a weapon and treated like a thing. She needs the fantasy of the comics to give her hope. And in the end, Logan is a superhero one last time to save his daughter. Laura is literally saved by her faith in the comics. Ultimately, I prefer the movie to the Old Man Logan comics. I think the comics are too overstuffed and unnecessarily gratuitous.
The comic was great, the f you talking about. Logan's arc felt more complete and fantasy superheroes are way better than that watered down fox X-Men crap. I'm glad Marvel's getting X-Men back . Mcu X-Men will be much better
I I think that while you’re right in that the MCU may not keep them entirely true to the original source material, they’ve proven with GOTG and Thor that they can change characters while also making good movies
I respectfully disagree. Old man logan is one of the greatest marvel comics and arcs. It's a good movie, but it's watered down to meet a certain movie time. It feels at time dull and straightforward.
@I xmen are back in the comics and the mcu is growing evermore comic like as time goes on. Guardians of the galaxy are the weirdos and the sequel is a great freakin film. Theres nothing fun about fox's xmen.
I agree there's nothing fun with Fox's X-Men live action films but now that Disney owns them Marvel and Disney might end up using the Jonathan Hickman rebooted X-Men version. House of X and Powers of X storys. Hickman has shown in at least one of his comic books all the established Marvel multiverse timelines.

SPOILERS: Manga - Protagonist cried when the guy sang at school, that's why he wanted revenge. Korean version is a good adaptation, while the only redeeming factor of the American remake is the reason for the revenge. (or if you want to see Thanos/Cable in love with Scarlet Witch) It wasn't that he cried or spread rumors about the guy having sex with his sister, but that he saw the girl having sex with an older man (which he didn't know was her father) and told creating news tabloids that pushed the family into hiding. This leads the dad to murder the family and commit suicide, but the son survived. Still loving his father, whom he was also sexual abused by, he does the same thing as the Korean version, but in this case the reveal is a lot more relatable to what the revenge was based around. The protagonist has sexual love for this woman whom he finds out is his daughter, the same feelings the antagonist's father had for his own daughter.

yes, and also no at the same time. While i'm not saying he COULDN'T be joel, i am saying that i can see him more as a brother of joel, or a family member. I have 5, i think now 6 brothers, and my parents remind me of how similar i look and even sometimes sound like some of them. So jackman could easily be a brother, but not as easily be joel himself. and by brother i don't mean joel's actual brother, like a new brother or something.
Are the two narrators a thing? Why did they keep cutting to that kiss scene. Also, you can draw a lot of similarities with Logan and the Last of US in my opinion
X-23 wasn't created for the movie, she first appeared in the animated series X-Men Evolution. Also, the "cyborg dudes" are The Reavers, who are from the comics, and who had a robot clone of Wolverine which must have been the inspiration behind X-24. If not, then that's a wild coincidence.
Vincent Xu Look, I get that their phrasing makes that technically true, but I'm pretty sure anyone watching this video who didn't already know X-23's origin would hear "a little girl who's been cloned from Logan's DNA by a company called Transigen that was specifically made up for the movie" and infer that she was an original character. At the very least it's awkward writing.
comic book movies usually just win technical awards for make up, costumes, editing, all the technical stuff. Heath Ledger (RIP) probably wouldn't have won had he not died. the nomination was like when Johnny Depp was up for Best Actor in the first (and best) Pirates of the Caribbean, throw a bone to the movies that made money but give the award to something no one saw. oh darn, maybe next time Johnny...and he's still waiting. LOTR Return of the King won Best Picture cause the Academy wanted to acknowledge Peter Jackson for his work but could only give it to one movie. if all three LOTR movies won Best Picture, it would have done the Oscars a disservice.
The story and thematics of Logan were excellently done, literally brought me to tears at the end, but i really felt like the cinematography itself was a little sub par (ex: SPOILERS - we definitely didn't need to see Laura loading the gun before shooting x24 at the end, it was foreshadowed heavily enough that the payoff would have been there regardless)
Top 10 Marvel (Comics Based) Films: 1. LOGAN 2. Spider-Man 2 3. Days Of Future Past 4. The Winter Soldier 5. First Class 6. Iron Man 7. X-Men United 8. Guardians Of The Galaxy 9. Civil War 10. Deadpool
I appreciated what Logan did to mix up the super hero formula. But what made me upset was that all that Bryan Singer did to fix the X-Men Franchise with Days of Future Past is undone with this movie. Unless, is this non-canon and Deadpool is Canon? I need someone to tell me please. Thanks.
Thormier If so, that means it was pointless to create Days of Future Past and fix the abomination which was the Last Stand. No future where mutants and humans can get along, humanity is and always will be too evil to save then?
Same thing happened in the comics though. Days of future past still happened because despite Shadowcat going back in time to fix it it just split off into another universe DBZ future Trunks style.
Logan is not an adaption of Old Man Logan lmfao. Not to mention the Old Man Logan comic was far more interesting and emotionally impact-full than Logan, OML as a movie would be infinity better than Sonys shameless attempt at keeping audiences interested in their X-Men universe now that they've milked every possible cent out of practically the only redeeming quality their movies had, Hugh Jackmans Wolverine.
Oh! Good call, the book for that is great, used to have a copy but lost it somewhere along the line, lent it to people and at some point someone, I can't remember who, didn't get it back to me...really cool story though, I remember it being wider in scope, the movie focuses mainly on Nanahara where the book has whole chapters around all sorts of other characters.
Here's an idea for What's the Difference. Do Ghost in the Shell as a three way with the manga, anime and feature film. Oh, and as always great stuff on CineFix.
Everybody is forgetting who saved Super Hero movies! Fucking Blade saved super hero movies from the shit pile we got in the 1990s.. People can brag about the 1990s all they want but that decade had some of the worst super hero movies ever! Batman & Robin and Steel.. Take your pick...
Steel was a good movie, it wasn't comic accurate in anyway, but if you discount that, it's about as good as the campy 90s stuff gets. 90s had some good movies in the entertaining fluff variety, stuff with "hip" aliens, buddy cops, and cartoonishly unrealistic technology.
I love *Old Man Logan* but imo (I know I'm likely in the minority), *Logan* was a little better overall. I know, as the video said, they're almost completely different. But in terms of enjoyment, character development, villains, and emotional punch, I prefer *Logan.* Though certainly not flawless, its near-futuristic setting, themes, and more isolated story managed to match and in some aspects surpass shared concepts in the comic while having less source material to legally work with. *#ClawsOutForLogan* 👊
I thought you were gonna talk about the different between x23 (Laura) in the movie! (Trust me there are a lot) but I like this idea better! Great videos, keep it up!
They aren't really comparable...the movies have nothing, at all, to do with the books save that there are some people named the same and who act SOMEWHAT similarly (with a lot more focus on action and comedy in the movies), and same with the modern series which will sometimes use cases in the books as a jumping off point but purposefully changes them drastically to fit in the modern day and not be predictable to people who've read the books, they also tend to "meld" them together so there's little bits and pieces of three or four book mysteries in one episode along with totally original material. One COULD do it however for the old BBC series, the one with the brilliant Jeremy Brett as Sherlock as that one literally takes direct cases from the books and adapts them to episodes, and is really extremely faithful for the most part (you can find most of them on youtube here ruclips.net/video/ZaDfTP7zohQ/видео.html ), but to try to do one for the movies would be redundant, you could just say "what are the similarities? It has characters names Sherlock Holmes and John Watson who are consulting detectives and close friends in 19th century Britain who use forensics and deductive reasoning to solve cases the police can't. What are the differences? Literally everything else." then the episode would be over :P
xero 9ravity what are you talking about? The comics are fantasy crap not the movie, freaking dinosaurs, inbred hulks, and some weird goblin monsters? The comics suck

Well then he should change his name to Miller then. Goddamn Brits.
Or Americans can learn to speak English.
Excellent analysis
What happened to the other narrator? (haven't watched the show in a while.)
Please do what's the difference for "Get Shorty" (book vs movie) now that the television version is out.
Are the two narrators a thing? Why did they keep cutting to that kiss scene. Also, you can draw a lot of similarities with Logan and the Last of US in my opinion
Bo Xue Have you heard about a movie called "The Road"? Last of Us took from that movie.
They didn't say X23 was created for the movie, it's the organization in the movie responsible for making X23 that was created for the movie.
Fair point, it is pretty ambiguous. They must have assumed that everyone knows who X23 is already.
Vincent Xu I might give them that if not for the whole Reavers thing.
Some people were just born to play certain characters! Hugh Jackman is the definitive Wolverine! 👌
awesome literally watched this last night.
well re-watched anyways.
This movie better get nominated for best picture
Cameron Field didn't the dark knight win an oscar?
comic book movies usually just win technical awards for make up, costumes, editing, all the technical stuff.
I'm so glad I had a psp, it's comic app was how I was able to read Old Man Logan and X-23 way before this movie was even announced.
What's the difference for Civil War comic and movie
To much for just one video, MAYBE a three parter
Civil War doesn't make Tony & Steve unlikeable jackasses like the comic storyline for one thing.
Top 10 Marvel (Comics Based) Films:
1. LOGAN
2. Spider-Man 2
3. Days Of Future Past
4. The Winter Soldier
5. First Class
6. Iron Man
7. X-Men United
8. Guardians Of The Galaxy
9. Civil War
10. Deadpool
Nick Sketch what??? How tho
I Think spiderman 2 should be way lower,.... and Deadpool way higher. ;)
Now you gotta throw Infinity War in there somewhere
And now I will watch this fucking movie AGAIN and cry again and chase my cat trying to get a hug again..Thank you, cinefix!
The Giver, The Exorcist and Forrest Gump.

Awesome video!
Thanks.
I think it is canon, but in the future so it doesn't matter yet? i'm not sure but I think so
Thormier If so, that means it was pointless to create Days of Future Past and fix the abomination which was the Last Stand. No future where mutants and humans can get along, humanity is and always will be too evil to save then?
Same thing happened in the comics though. Days of future past still happened because despite Shadowcat going back in time to fix it it just split off into another universe DBZ future Trunks style.
Rainbowhawk1993 It's its own timeline
Movies With Mikey explains the canon of this movie in relation to the other movies
Hugh jackman is a god. Best wolverine. Best comic movie. Hands down
I loved the noir version aswell

So American lmao
Final movie as wolverine
2024: about that
Deadpool: disney is going to make do this til he's 90
Quick answer
everything
These are two very different stories but I really enjoyed both.
I'm between Logan and The Dark Knight as the best superhero movie of all time
Cool video, but I wish you took a minute to compare X-23 to how she appears in other comics. Interesting stuff.
One of the rare instances where the movie was better than the books
You can call Logan a.movie adapatiin if it has nothing to do with the book
Ambiso Tawsik the comic was way better.
I preferred the movie personally. And that doesn't a lot.
Yep. But it was a very smart adaptation...
Hey with the new IT coming out next month about The Miniseries and the Book?
Can we have What's the difference: Battle Royale?
Terence Viloria what a film
ZarathustrasCrown Mitsuko and Kiriyama had the biggest changes from the book.
Kenrick Eason I chose Batman Returns and Rocketeer.
FROOOOOST!
In 20 years time people will look back at superhero movies like avengers and nearly every marvel movie and laugh at how crappy CGI was in this time,
Good fucking joke. Blade was absolutely terrible, Xmen and spiderman saved superhero films
2:58 NEVER NOTICED THE X SCAR UNTIL NOW
Where is the original two guys?
You are absolutely correct in your assessment that it is the best comic book movie in history
I want them to do IT book v 1990
I love *Old Man Logan* but imo (I know I'm likely in the minority), *Logan* was a little better overall. I know, as the video said, they're almost completely different. But in terms of enjoyment, character development, villains, and emotional punch, I prefer *Logan.* Though certainly not flawless, its near-futuristic setting, themes, and more isolated story managed to match and in some aspects surpass shared concepts in the comic while having less source material to legally work with.
*#ClawsOutForLogan* 👊
There barely the same
This was more like "what's the same".
Yeah, they should have an "In Name only" clause like the Dom.
I thought you were gonna talk about the different between x23 (Laura) in the movie! (Trust me there are a lot) but I like this idea better! Great videos, keep it up!

What's the Difference between the Les Miserables book and movie
Cameron Field I don't think Liam neeson is in any les mis adaptations
there has been MANY different Miserables movies. I bought a DVD where it had three movies of that story and three of them were different and good
now Hugh Jackman has played both versions lol
what's the difference with sherlock holmes movies , or the serie
Rachel Bologna sorry miss i'm not even an english speaker , so not interested (and this is not a good method to have viewers)
Rachel Bologna piss off ye

The book is actually good.
+Alexander Angelus so was the movie
+Wade Wilson except for the fourth one.

I'd prefer the main cast to return and have a story where Greg is in college.
This is a good one
I will cry
Stop it
I'd like to see you do the Green Mile, Misery, The Stand, and any other Stephen King adaptations you haven't covered yet.
The comic sounds ridiculous lol but kinda cool, I love the movie and I'm glad it wasn't like that.
IKR? The movies are usually far less ridiculous than the comics. Just look at the X-Men: Days of Future Past comic vs movie.
ridiculous or just too dark for you happy fantasy?
xero 9ravity what are you talking about? The comics are fantasy crap not the movie, freaking dinosaurs, inbred hulks, and some weird goblin monsters? The comics suck
