Friggin' LEGEND man! You are the man. Family is everything. Something they will never forget. PS- And I thought building my t-bucket was arduous. Peanuts compared to this.
Thank You!, This was a complete design and build in six months plus DOT registration, Tried to get the family involved as much as possible, this was a blast to do, drive it everyday if possible furthest trip was about 300 miles one way. Hope to do a update video soon. All my best.
This video should have 1 million views. I appreciate the energy and time put into building this marvelous machine. Exciting and phenomenal man ! Grandfather John Pennsylvania
Bedstefar John, Thank You for your service my best friend was USMC Desert Storm. Thank You for the Kind words, It was a challenge almost everything had to be hand built on this plus start to finish all in less than six months including planning and setbacks it is a blast to drive around something you hand built. All My Best!
@@BraveJammer You're welcome BraveJammer. I'm 64 yrs old and have been a car guy, more like a car nut since age 11. When I watched this video I was reminded of building model cars back then and focusing on the details like painting the radio knobs & door handles, white letters on tires etc on those small models. Not a good comparison to what you built here sir but I recognize you are clever, skillful and pay attention to detail. What you've accomplished by remarkable effort led to this impressive machine snd impressive it is from many different angles.
Our Dad used to take us to the Huge Rod & Custom show in Oakland back in the 60's. We saw all of the 'Theme" Cars. Also George Barris, and all the other Rod Gurus. Ed "Big Daddy" Roth Air-brushing T-Shirts. GREAT Memories and AMAZING Chrome and Metal Flake painted ARTWORK!! The Mysterion was one I remember and the rest will eventually "come back to mind". Incredible Stuff. Keep DREAMING AND CREATING. IT'S YOUR LIFE.
Great build dude definitely no camera trickery going on but i like how Herman Munsters face appears in the bottom right corner of the Window on the car at 24:11 Tyvm for sharing 👍
Rexamus 75F, Thank You, I am not the greatest Video creator, Nor Car fabricator, I thought the same thing but the one that freaks me out was the one I seen at 25:10 ~ 25:12 in the speedometer gauge. Glad you enjoyed it Thank You for sharing, All My Best
Jason, Thank you for the kind words, Barris was such a inspiration. This was my interpretation and a unexpected journey but great memories for the family. All my best
Beautiful build man! I'm a Munsters fan. You made it your own! Cruising 75 mph likes it's nothing! But all the bugs hitting the windshield (and everything else) OMG, noooooo! LoL!
Steven, Thank You! you know I built it my way to drive and enjoy and it does just that! How many projects actually get completed in less than 6 months let alone 6 years to get bugs on the windshield! ~ It's a blessing! One I hope my Kids talk about for years! Thank you for the kind words, All my best
There’s not enough words to describe the effort it takes to build such a machine sweat non-sleepless nights it is just one hell of a build God bless you man
Attention to details! One COOL KAR! I can see a few more items to add, the cap for the radiator, and the running board steps. Keep the videos coming. Would like to see a video on how you made the side lanterns, if possible. Glad to see the kids involved!
Willy Billy Martin, Thank You., I agree the whole front needs work, radiator cover and head lights, the steps I am working on done for this year, I really hope the kids have memories of their crazy dad doing this one summer. All My Best
Kenneth Thank You ! I should have built a larger shop first, that would have been beneficial. But I have built allot of those and for some reason this had to be done, So if you have room for a 24' Koach perhaps we can work something out!! All My Best
nice job hands down the munster coach is still the the coolest rat rod ever built . it was and still is ahead of the game . great work buddy . now put it in the garage lol .
Gord, Thank You, I only copied a version of what George gave to us. It is really cool I would expect mine to be a bit more comfortable and enjoyable to drive than the original. All My Best
Watching this video turned out to be much more than I expected. What a truly nice job. Mr. Barris combined three coaches into one. You made them all from scratch. Amazing! I am dumbfounded that one person could do all this from beginning to end, by himself, in his wide open backyard - weather and all. So impressed! Serious congratulations. Can't help but wonder how the discussions went down at the DMV. :-)
Ryan, Thank You! It was a Journey from the unknown, but something for my kids to talk about someday, I didn't know anything about Barris or even the Munster's until I woke up one morning. Kinda sad how allot of Barris's artifacts have scattered, what a artist and contribution to americana. Yes all from scratch I knew I wanted transvers front and rear suspension and the overall look but there was no blueprint! There were challenges but everything went pretty good. ~ Good bones to work with in the future. It was drivable before the 4th but it did take several weeks for the local office to get things correct for the state it may had been the first or second vehicle the local office ever did. but the state DMV was a blast I drove it first time the over hour drive to the DMV the people there were waiting with cameras some of who never check vehicles bit they seen the paperwork and came. It all went very well allot of laughs and best wishes "Have a great Halloween!!" and back home I went. Its been a blast!! Best wishes!!
Awesome build and truly a masterpiece from the beginning to the end !!! Congratulations on your true one of a kind piece of art !!! Keep doing what you do brother
George Barris would be proud to see you building this coach, if it would have been done sooner, Rob Zombie May have used it in His new Munster movie, looks like a great update to a classic, I loved watching it progress from the ground up.
Will, Thank You for the kind words! I hope your rite about George what a imagination and contribution to us all. I am Glad you enjoyed it Its different and I think Life needs that once in a while. All My Best
Am I the only one who thinks the back tires need to be wider? Like Mickey Thompson Sportsman wide? And that Ford shaped cowl should have a Ford engine in front of it. But, since it's completely hand built, I guess I can look the other way
Big Mountain, Yes the rear tires are supposed to be bigger, Hoosier Pro Street Radial Tire Size: 29x18.50R-15LT. They have been on backorder since i ordered them in April still aren't available. All my Best
Mike Thank You! The original will always be the real deal, But I made mine "Comfortable" and obnoxiously big, When Fred drove the original, he had to sit on the floor and way back, if this wasn't going to be fun and comfortable to drive what was the point! All my best
Thank You! I have intentions to drive it as much as I can so I made it comfortable ~ wider, and interior designed off our Escalade. To me everything about this car is loud and obnoxious so I also made it longer, a much larger center section and more room in the driving cabin. If it wasn't fun to drive I was afraid I would enjoy all the hard work. But it IS! easy to drive and allot of fun. Need a cup holder! All my best
It is only 60" wide, The steering column, pedals and seats were places just as they are on our Escalade so the front cabin area is as wide as a full size SUV with the dash height and so on to match todays full size, I wanted to make sure it was comfortable to drive and not squished like the originals!
Chris, I love that Idea!! I have learned finding brass-colored items is a challenge or even to make them. I think I may still make the very back high mounted seat; my son wants to put that on too. Thank you for the Idea, All my best.
Will, I did consider that, But decided for my version I liked it all black, I do think it needs more Yellow or gold so when the steps are done they will be gold. Thanks for your input All My best
Got two questions for you this is Ken down in groveland Florida I don't know where you're at but the way you was talking about the storm coming in so don't know where you in Florida or not you might be up in one of the other states that got hit bad my first question is what kind of power plant are you running in your monster rat rod number two question what was the original power plant in the one they used in the monsters was it Chrysler or was it Chevrolet now don't get me wrong I mean on camera yours look like Chevrolet but I could be wrong but everything looks different on video so get back to me this is Ken down in groveland Florida you can get back to me through RUclips email or you can get back to me through my email and I think my email flashes up when you punch in RUclips thing I'm not sure I don't know how that works I just like watching RUclips oh man I'll tell you what you doing a great job I love the way you fabricated that firewall and everything looking good I used to be a model builder myself but not build a couple of those monster at rods and out of plastic I never could never could come up with enough money to build me the real thing all right man you have a great day
Ken, Thank You, I live in a rural part of the US, we had a high straight-line windstorm come through for about 200 miles. Lives were lost allot of farmers lost Barns and buildings, we are still recovering. I used a SBC 350 due to the availability of the type of parts I wanted to use. It is still difficult to find parts I spose due to covid. I do believe the original Munster Koach had a 289 ford. My intentions were to just build a cool car Koach 77. All My Best

OMG this is an AMAZING build!!!!! GREAT JOB!!!!!!!
Looks awesome 👌 I love it.
That was Bad Ass!!! Loved it!!
Nice job
Damn nice job very very well built I've done a few cars but nothing like that very expensive but I have to say very well bill
Thank You! It was a fun unexpected journey, it actually came in just under expected budget but some items are still on backorder. Best wishes!!
Great job
Super kool man!
Nicely done inspired by the monster mobile with your own twist on it
Outstanding!
Beautiful work. I love it. George Barris could have used you in his design team.
Johnny, Thank You, could you imagine being around him during this era! Never a dull moment! All My Best
Freaking AWSOME !
Let's go for a ride.
Dude. That’s pretty sweet.
Big Daddy Roth would be proud.
Roth was good at Rat Rods but George Barris was the king of TV-show cars.
You know, the original Munsters coach was powered by a Ford hi-po 289 with a four speed and had 10 one barrel carbs that were functional,
Didn't it have 2 V8s, one behind the other?
@@briananthony4044 no it just had the one engine

Do that in Germany.. Impossible
....or even in California anymore 😣
Daddy's little squirt & mommy's little egg.
In what world is that a rat rod?
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Little long isnt it??
It looks great but its huge. The Munster's would have used it for a motor home for sure. Good job.
😲🙌🙌🙌💞💯🙏
Nice job bro
Are you going to build the coffin car also
No, I don't think so, I have a 56 F100 next then my 65 Riviera GS, I am thinking about doing a C Cab that could be neat. All my best.
I thought it looked way different but still cool👍
Munster back ground music is too distracting

Great ,but not a rat rod.
Fake if not Ford powered
Are you shallow often ?
Ok..credit to a decent build.
NOT a Munster Coach.... Close, but no cigar.
Not gonna try to pick it apart..way too many errors
