Really warms my heart to see that someone is taking care of these cars that I grew up watching on TV. What a wonderful Era that was!

This guy owns at least four of the cars that shaped my fascination with custom vehicles when i was growing up in the 60's
    1. The Red Baron
    2. The Monkees GTO Wagon
    3. The Munster Coach
    4. Dragula
I was a poor little kid in Spokane Valley in the 60's but was able to go to World of Wheels, Autorama and HotWheels tours. I could not sleep in the nights leading up to the Car Shows and it took weeks to regain my normal sleep patterns after. It made my childhood perfection out of what most would think was a horrible time. So good to see and hear them again!

Used to love going to The World Of Wheels. Went to one in about 1980 I believe in Boston. What a show. Paul Revere and The Raiders as Musical guests, Adam West in full costume with The Batmobile speaking and signing autographs and The King Mr. Barris roaming the floor with this great jacket on festooned with patches of all his creations talking with anyone would cared to talk with him. What a great time. Still one of my fondest memories. He told me a great story of how he kitted out a motor home for Elvis. He had built the drivers seat to fit Elvis' body perfectly by taking a mold of him sitting. Elvis asked George to take a "test drive" with him. They didn't come back for three days!

Funny that I just watched the episode where Herman loses his car at the races so Grandpa created the Dragula to win it back yesterday. In the show Grandpa wins, but forgot to unhook the parachute so he can't stop. So he's running in circles trying to stop and Herman grabs the rear bumper and slides on his boots to stop it. His boots were smoking like crazy when he did get it stopped. Funny.

Those shows in the 60s were so good, even 1 or 2 season shows are still rotated in syndication today. Can you imagine, The Honeymooners only ran for 1 season? Yet, it's so great, people think it ran for years. Imagine a 1 or 2 season show from today even being picked up in syndication, let alone able to be seen year round? Just not worth it because people aren't going to watch as apposed to 60s shows that are loved by young and old alike. No profanity, no immorality, nudity, sex, or violence. Just goes to show you that good wholesome entertainment is always going to outshine the opposition.
That said, one of the things I remember having tears rolling down my face from laughter, was when Herman stuck his feet thru the floorboards to stop the car. I don't remember the episode, but I just couldn't stop laughing as smoke was coming off his feet.

Half the reason I loved this show as a kid was the cars that were so cool. Loved this. Sorry I missed you in Panama City Beach, Dennis.

OMG this brought back memories! I got to sit in & have photos taken in Hermans car (the actual show car) as a kid way back in the 80's 😮

Leave it to George Barris to build a car that can bring a smile to everyone's face. Those cars were featured in one of my favorite episodes, the guy that Grandpa was racing stole his parachute and Herman had to grab the car and stop it by dragging his feet, his shoes were smoking it was hilarious. Also the next day after Herman got his car back they show him driving and the engine falls out and is left running on the street as he continues on.

Dennis, I see that the Herman's coach coffin had you working overtime just to go on a straight line. LOL 👍

I am 70 now and grew up loving the Munsters! It was years before I learned that Lilly (Yvonne De Carlo) was a young movie actress & starlette before she did the Munsters. I found that hard to believe.

I would watch the episode with dragula over and over when I was a kid. That car is what actually made me start watching the Adams Family.
