How ANYONE can watch this time-honored tradition and not be humbled, respectful and grateful, is beyond me. Yet, many videos show that many attend and see it differently. It’s insane of how precise and coordinated the guards are. They do it all perfectly and barely any mistakes and it’s just beautiful of how well they do it.
I remember when I came here with a tour guide who told me that every movement is also precisely calculated as well. I believe it was exactly 21 seconds walking across the mat, and exactly 21 seconds at each end turning, switching shoulders on the rifle, and preparing to walk. Not to mention each step being precise and every stop and heel click too. And as such, when the changing of the guard comes on, it also comes on exactly synchronized with the previous post's motion. Seamless. So much respect for these guys.

There's a reason that PhRMA doesn't want you to know the TRUTH about CBD oil, and it's greed, and money.... Don't let the media hype fool you. Cannabis was in the "U.S. Pharmacopeia"{ until the early 1940's. And no, I'm not talking about "smoke pot", or "smoke weed", or "smoke marijuana". CBD, or "cannabidiol", and related alkaloids, are VERY helpful. The human body even has a Natural cannabidinoid system. Like Genesis Chap. 1, Verse 29 says, ALL the plants were given to Man for food and medicine BY GOD. When used correctly and carefully, CBD, and cannabis, can do wonders. But PhRMA doesn't want you to know the TRUTH... ALS is one diagnosis that has shown a great response to CBD.... BEST WISHES!

But hey, at least the crowd remained SILENT and RESPECTFUL.... This video made tears flow from my eyes. God, I am so PROUD and HUMBLED by you Guards!....
Bill, I am a 65 year old, 22 year AF vet and I tear up every time I watch videos such as this one and especially the videos of the fallen as they make the final trip home. As a family deeply affiliated with the military, it made me extremely proud, that my kids were allowed to be part of this beautiful ceremony.

Is it always the Old Guard? I know either the Tomb or burial units rotate between the services.
@@bengemeister yes it is always the old guard
@@martinvanco8459 I've read many despicable statements on yt but this is the most vile, disgusting, and ignorant that I've seen. I pity you.
The *BEST* version, not a sound from the people and the changing of the guard was phenomenal
Thanks for the nice comment. We worked hard to get it right.
A most sacred memorial to those who have given their "last full measure of devotion". RIP
God Bless America
Amen!🙏🇺🇸
😔😔😔All I have to say is they shine like a new pennie. Keep shining on brother's and sister's. I Thank you for your service Amen😔😕😔
Wow. Such precision and co-ordination. Truly a magnificent spectacle.
These young men are so disciplined. It's an honor to witness this. I am so blessed to be an American! God bless our military! 🇺🇸🎖👏😊
In 1984 I had the honor of laying the wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, watching this brought back a memory I’ll never forget, the Honor Guards are gentlemen that you’ll never forget
God bless brethren....Thank youfor your service.
Thank you for your service. Top notch. Most precise movements I've ever seen. Nothing but the utmost honor and respect to you.
Amazing perfection. Respect and admiration from a former RAF fighter pilot.
Thank you for your speedy response, may God bless you and your wife for informing the public of this sacred tradition. I look forward to seeing more of the same from you in the future.
I never ever get tired of watching this!
The respect shown here makes me happy. Not one sound that was not allowed.
Thank you for posting this. I served in the Army in the 80's. I lost a buddy of mine then, in a car wreck. He's not buried there but, Im sure he visited. Reminds me of him. Thank you so much.
You are welcome! I was in the Army in the 1970s, and the only buddy I've kept in touch with is suffering terribly with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). He can now barely move a single finger... it's awful to see him that way. He had a great job and had just a few months to go to retirement, and now he gets fed from a stomach tube. Awful. I wish I could do something.
We all carry our lives around with us. Take care.
@@BobKovacs I understand, my father, a Navy veteran, died from cancer. It's hard to see our friends and family suffer. But, we will see them again. I firmly believe .My thoughts and prayers are with you. Sincerely, Daryl
PS, something just wanted me to share this with you .

Thanks... nice video!
@@BobKovacs Honestly, I hope your buddy has access to, and uses CBD oil, or some similar preparation.
I can watch this 100 times, still gets me every time..
Thank you for your views!
For anyone interested in learning more about the guards, my friend who was a guard himself made a documentary about it. It’s called The Unknowns. It’s really cool to see behind the scenes what they go through.
Recently watched it twice over Memorial Day weekend. Excellent documentary. Much more respect for our armed forces. May God bless and protect the United States of America 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Absolute dedication. I'm humbled by these men and women. Unfortunately, the public at times are rude. This is a place of respect and silence.
My unwavering respect and immense gratitude cannot be communicated in words alone.
Thank you soldiers for honoring my father and buddies
Whats so amazing is they do this no matter the weather. Such discipline and honor. Many in this country can learn from this.
Watching this while standing under the sun in summer heat, sweating like a pig, I was in awe at their ability to maintain their composure and timing. This is definitely something you have to see in person to get the full experience.
Beautiful discipline, I could watch this all day
THANK-YOU, Bob, for this video! I watched the whole thing very carefully. The best part was closely watching the expressions on the faces of the crowd when they appeared in the background.
I'm saddened, that SOME of the crowd seemed more interested in looking down at their devices, than watching the SKILL, PRECISION, TRAINING, and DEDICATION of the Guards....
But hey, at least the crowd remained SILENT and RESPECTFUL.... This video made tears flow from my eyes. God, I am so PROUD and HUMBLED by you Guards!....
You are welcome!
Excellent filming. It’s so impressive to see their accuracy!
Thanks for the nice comment!
Thanks, Bob. That brings a tear every time I experience the guard change.
You're welcome!
Bill, I am a 65 year old, 22 year AF vet and I tear up every time I watch videos such as this one and especially the videos of the fallen as they make the final trip home. It just hurts to watch the families and friends of the fallen as most (but not all) are so young and had their entire life ahead of them. As always...never forget.
Both of my daughter's, went to the east coast for two weeks during their 8th grade year. It's a wonderful trip kids in 7th and 8th grade can go to. It's not paid for by the school and costs a couple thousand dollars, by it's an amazing opportunity. Both of them were chosen to be part of this. As a family deeply affiliated with the military, it made me extremely proud, that my kids were allowed to be part of this beautiful ceremony.
Amazing, dignified, precision, smart and timing, all perfect,a great spectacle to watch.
To witness the changing of the guard is to have an experience that mere words cannot express - a grateful heart and a deep appreciation to those who defend us all.
It just brings tears to my eyes plain and simple
Excellent video. The chances of being selected for this detail are about the same as winning Powerball. VERY strict qualifying. A real honor for the soldiers.
The 3 of them look identical. I can only wonder what training must they undergo to be so elegant and perfect with every move.
Reiner hours and hours of grueling training to prefect this ritual. It is a very coveted honor/role for these soldiers and very competitive. Hundreds try out but very few receive the honor. There is an old documentary on this somewhere out there showing the competition
Sen. Tom Cotton, who served in the Old Guard, but did not serve as a guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, writes about the preparation in his book 'Sacred Duty'.
If perfection exists , I just witnessed it....
Much love to my brothers that have the honor of being selected to this duty, sisters you are not forgotten
💙💙💙💙💙was there twice in person! It’s very overwhelming with solemnity - All of Arlington cemetery is heavy with emotion😭❣️❣️❣️❣️💪❣️💔 Thank you for your service😘💙❤️
I remember as a kid, living in Arlington, that every year on Memorial Day we would pack a lunch and go picnic on the grounds of Mount Vernon and then our day would end here at Arlington Cemetery for the Changing of the Guard !!!! We were an amazingly patriot family as were all families that lived through that terrible War !!!!
Why would anyone put DISLIKES, IF you have not ounce of RESPECT, WHY did you watch THE CHANGING OF THE GUARD, BRINGS TEARS to my EYES every time I watch it.
RUclips has a system where it auto adds a few dislikes to each video to prevent them from being targets of dislike raiding. Basically because the internet people are assholes.
Beautiful. Brought me to tears just knowing what this means and the sacrifice of all the unknown soldiers that have died, and the POWs and MIAs.❤🇺🇸👍
Two most sacred places in DC - Tomb of Unknown Soldier and Viet Nam Memorial. The looks on the crowds' faces watching the soldiers' ceremony are priceless. They finally really understand what war is about and the sacrifices that have been made.
Sir I an 1 of the many of the British soldiers who admire your tribute to the glorious dead of our nations
Respect from Canada! 🇨🇦🇺🇸
Respect right back to you from the USA

The chimes of the clock adds a nice feel to the moment. I visited there last year chimes went off etc. The whole thing was fascinating ❤🇺🇸
We saw this changing of the guard a few years ago. Impressive. Very impressive.
Thank you for your service and sacrifice. I’m proud to be an American. God Bless
Army veteran here, well done men, well done.......🇺🇸
The soldiers representing the monument are magnificently honorable as far as I can tell I think they are fantastic respectful and they realize the loss that has occurred I should say the monumental loss
Beautiful !!!!!! Dam Proud to be in the USA
Hell Yeah !!!!!
You did a great job,Arlington is such a sacred place and the Tomb of Uknown just adds to that...
Thanks!
I've been there to witness the changing of the guards, best short term description i can think of is " respectful precision to God, our families, military comrades, and country", i was blessed to miss vietnam by appx. 2 years, thank God, but i would have enlisted, & thank God for all of our veterans. Amen.
