I was stationed as a Marine at Henderson Hall back in the late 70's and on several occasions walked over and watched these men perform their duties flawlessly every time no matter what the weather was like and I was there during the winter congratulations to U.S. Army Spc. Adam Platt for completing your mission thank you for your service
Tomb Guards don't get enough respect or recognition, to walk every day for hours, sick, fatigued, cold, hot, wet, dry. Most people dont understand how hard it is, I give my respect to this man and all the other Tomb Guards.
It is with deep pride and affection that I salute you, Specialist Platt, for your dedication, service and honor in serving our country and the Old Guard. No measure of excellence can be higher then serving as a Tomb Guard and the devotion it takes to be this perfect is worthy of the highest honors. Go on your journey Specialist Platt, for you are now a part of a rare breed of honored members who stand the watch for our country's fallen and known only to God.
America is modern Babylon. God is not on its side. Only the resolve of man. Which in the end, is always usurped by other men. When god gets involved, all die.
Thank you beyond words for your Honorable Service, SPC. Platt...and very best wishes for the future!! I can't speak to the gloves and sunglasses, Joc6420, but the white roses are the hybrid Forever Rose created for the Centennial of The Tomb...and you can order them for your own garden, by the way! And of course it was a spray of white roses that Younger laid on the casket of the first Unknown....be well!! B K Zahn, Assoc. Mem., SHGTUS, 12 APR 2022 - 🇺🇸🗽🇺🇸🎗️🇺🇸
The ceremony of the roses is so moving. You have honoured the unknowns, your family, your comrades and your country by your service. I wish you and your proud family a happy future. ⚘️🇬🇧
Once you visit the Tomb of the Unknowns, and watch the polished precision of the proceedings, you get it. For me, it's something that I will never forget, very somber, surreal and moving. Much respect to Mr. Platt and all of the other Sentinels keeping watch over this sacred spot.
Deeply, deeply moving! Thank you to every man and woman who has served this country and defended the Constitution of the United States! Your service and sacrifice are seen and acknowledged by a grateful nation.
Congratulations Spc Platt . Your dedication, selfless service and professionalism speaks volumes . Tomb Guard and Taps bring a tear to my eye and a lump in my throat. Proud of my almost 30 yrs of service to this country.
I was down in Arlington back in 1977. This is very holy ground. And the ceremony is very special as well as dignified. Take care Sentinel SPC. Adam Platt and your wonderful family. Thank you to all the guards and service people who did their duty and sacrificed with their lives. God bless you all, thank you for you service, and welcome home.🌹🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
This ceremony is truly a somber occasion , I have been privileged to see this ceremony four times. What it takes for this young men and woman who are selected for this honor are truly the best
I can only imagine The amount of emotions that must have been going through him and his family as he made his final walk and the ceremony of the roses. He has joined one of the rarest teams in the military as a tomb sentinel and will have an honored place in our nations history.
I was a tomb guard back in 2012 when i was there it could have been done for the retirement of duty. The glasses are made by Oakley specifically for the tomb guards. So he gives them as relief of duty and his gloves for closer goodbye. Last point of duty was over when he handed the rifle, his last goodbye was when he scraped twice walking out of the gate with his girl.
❤ amazing presentation ANC! I’m alone watching this and somewhere near is someone is cutting Onions. Specialist Pratt, good luck at your next duty station! WELL DONE!
& Then they either ETS out of the service, or report to an 11B line unit as we use to receive a few of the Old Guard troops, to be de-programed, we get to re-program them to fit in with us line mud puppies.
The rarest qual badge in the US military. I'm an Army veteran, an ex-tank crewman and a proud cavalryman. I've been to Arlington and seen the Guard in person. This is one of those situations where you can respect and admire a unit but still not have the slightest desire to emulate them. But then, I was always more comfortable with mud on my boots anyway. I mean, you have to admire a unit that chose to man their posts during a hurricane TWICE. I hope the Tomb Guards, past and present, will accept a respectful tip of the Stetson from an old cavarlyman. Stay safe, guys.
My GOD!! How in the world did the entire family keep it together during that ceremony? I cried with pride for them. Just another reminder of the caliber of those who do what they do so knuckleheads like me can live in a free country. "Thank you" seems woefully inadequate.
When I was in the 82d, we got to visit with some of these guys in their ready room area; it is a very tough gig, and I have a lot of respect for them. As a veteran though, I just HAVE to ask; what is up with those covers guys? If you look back a few years, they were set so that the crests were still visible, but now? They kind of look like someone left it unattended on a chair and a mishap occurred... IMHO it takes away from the otherwise stellar presentation of the uniform.
Whats with the music? Not many there to witness his last walk. This is the first time i seen a last walk wher the guard has removed gloves and sunglasses. I watch Jessica's last walk just before seeing this video and she didnt remove gloves/ sunglasses.
Good afternoon! Today is Armed Forces Day in South Korea, a day to celebrate and thank the South Korean military for protecting and defending the country and its people. I hope the rest of the week brings you good health and good things. And always support your beautiful/attractive activities. ^^
I'd like to be able to say the tears in my eyes are from the chlorine gas and smoke from the Covington BioLab. But they're not. God bless all those who have served- or are serving - in the Old Guard, and thise they lay to rest there.
The Sentinels should be applauded for their dedication but the whole unnatural ceremony turns them into robots and it's a performance that lacks dignity and gravitas.
This is why I love our country. We truly are the greatest nation on earth, and we can keep on being the greatest nation on earth if we don't vote for democrats trying to say and do otherwise.
Words are inadequate.
Awesome.
Well done, young soldier
Well done, parents.
The time, the discipline, the commitment required for this assignment is unimaginable.... a most impressive young man .

What an absaloute tribute to honour those who have given their lives so we can enjoy ours.
Thank you!
Why did Spc. Platt remove his gloves and sunglasses? Is there a special meaning for their removal? And why white roses, because it was farewell?
I was a tomb guard back in 2012 when i was there it could have been done for the retirement of duty. The glasses are made by Oakley specifically for the tomb guards. So he gives them as relief of duty and his gloves for closer goodbye. Last point of duty was over when he handed the rifle, his last goodbye was when he scraped twice walking out of the gate with his girl.
@@Son.of.4rtthank you for your service, and the explanation.
Also, white roses signify, purity, innocence, and loyalty.
@@Son.of.4rt this may sound dumb, but do you get to keep the shades?
@@indigodakotawonder7997 that I can’t speak for - but 11 years ago yes- a sentinel that does his full duty (badge received /honored)
Thank you, Spc. Platt
❤ amazing presentation ANC! I’m alone watching this and somewhere near is someone is cutting Onions. Specialist Pratt, good luck at your next duty station! WELL DONE!
I've watched the ceremony many times, always an honor to see it. And by the way - that's the TALLEST sentinel I've seen!!!
Blessings on Blessings

The word is HERO'S!!!
Nowhere in the world is there any equal to the military guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
Well Done
Saluuute''' Soldier...
Job well done Specialist Platt.
To get to guard the tomb of the unknowns a high honor
Honoring the fallen of the unknown.

God Bless the United States Army.

Continue march young warrior.
This is the other side of the USA, well done Gentleman of the Military

It was like he was a patient who has just taken mental medicine. Then he did exercise as following doctor instruction
Where can I watch this without the background music?
Turning off the sound
Did he leave the army or only the guard ?
Wonderous. And you know he's not a General. He knows how to properly salute.
🇺🇸⚓️ The best.

Im ok until taps is played then it really hits me
why do they not have a loaded gun instead of that 'toygun'
😇🫡😇
Dude.
Are you harrassing
me on RUclips,
or are you a friendly?
What do you need, son?
The Sentinels should be applauded for their dedication but the whole unnatural ceremony turns them into robots and it's a performance that lacks dignity and gravitas.

This is good to look at but also cringey AF. Only the US would spend the time and money for something so pointless and counter productive.
Awesome

Why that robotic walking. It's not normal. You are human, not robot.
Thank you for your service Spc. Platt.
