i started with the BR03 + IOTAVX-SA3 combo like many others and was very, very satisfied. I then realized, that i use them much more for movies than music and also jumped on a second pair for a great price on ebay. So i swapped out the IOTAVX with a used Onkyo AV-receiver, added a BRC1 center and a Klipsch SPL-150 subwoofer lol. So now i use 4 BR03s as front and rear channels, the fitting center and a massive sub, all in a one-room appartment in relatively near field conditions around my couch. I'm a happy man now, my neighbours not so much.

Thanks for the candid review, especially with the theory on the recent bad/negative reviews. These Triangle Borea BR03 speakers are on my short list versus Klipsch RP, ELAC Debut and Dali Oberon speakers. I need to arrange a demo to hear them in order to pull the trigger.

When one reviewer says a speaker has weak bass, consider its the placement ,room and seating location that caused dips in the bass! Who knows how poorly they might be at speaker setup and placement experience, and bass response is IMMENSELY position dependent!

The speakers I tend to like do that, as you get closer and to the plane of the drivers it kindof sounds like having a good set of headphones on with the sound going past the speakers. Nice, deep stage. My Triangle Zetas do that but they have a titanium tweeter, lots of detail for their budget price. Focals tend to do that too. As do others. Some speakers don't.

    Nice job on the review.
I've owned the 5.25" driver BRO2 since they first released the light oak color and my impressions of the sound are similar to yours with the BRO3 (natural tone, unforced treble, warm midrange and strong bass).
I actually bought the light oak first and then later bought a walnut pair when it went on sale so I had two BRO2's at the same time. I didn't do a double blind test so this could be my imagination, but I thought the light oak pair sounded slightly better than the walnut (though it could have just been difference in burn-in if that is a real thing, or just poor audio memory on my part). Ended up sending the walnut back.
So I don't know if it has to do with color as much as just overall consistency in production. Who knows? Because Tharbamar also thought the BRO3 sounded bright and he had the black finish.

Hi Trent. Thanks for the comment. Ok , I'll check out his review. Not sure why the sound on these are so different. Doesn't make sense to me. You said your 2 pairs sounded slightly different and that would be reasonable. But for some reviewers to report a completely different tone, that's where I'm questioning the production consistency. Cheers.

I have the light oak Bro3's and they sound great although I can't compare them to other colours. I've seen recent good reviews of the light oak on RUclips. I've learned that Triangle take quality control seriously so I doubt this is an issue with their production. Differences in opinions are probably more to do with subjective viewpoints or varying amplification, sources or room acoustics. Or perhaps people even being wilfully contrary to the majority views.

Hello, I have also the light oak Bro3s and they are sound great although for me bass are too much overwhelming on some records, but it could be problem of my room. Some records sounds fantastic on Bro3s - mostly vocals and acoustic instruments and also electro music, e.g. Yello . If I compared it with my old hungarian videoton dc 2012 a , bro3 are not too much bright at all. I drive these speakers with Technics SU-V300 and Reisong boyuu A10. There is a difference especially at the bass intensity. But overall I really enjoying bro3 natural sound. Hope that there is not any problem with my ligh oak version :)

I owned Elacs debut and unifi floorstanding speakers. I sold all those after got Bro3. Elacs well balanced, laid back, smooth, sounded boring compared to Bro3. Bro3 are lively, clearer, better imaging, real tone. Bros alive, Elacs too laid back, relaxed tone good for jazz, easy listening, but boring for rock, any lively music.

Interesting theory. I hope you're right and that there was a bad batch. I ordered the walnut, so hopefully no issues. Hi Dale you might be able to help me with a query. I have the iota vx stack with elac debut 6.20. I was looking at changing speakers I love the bass of the elac but would like a little more sparkle in the top end but my main gripe is when watching a movie with same system I have to turn it right up to get vocal clarity then action scenes are to loud (apartment) so I spend half the movie with remote in hand. Would the bro 3 do a better job with this and would you say if it is worth the minor upgrade from the elac to the bro3.

Nice review, have you tried using the Br03's as PC Speakers? I'm looking to purchase this for use as PC speakers so I would be seating pretty close to them (they'll be beside my monitor). Can these speakers still produce good sound when seating up close or do they require space? I'm also thinking of the BR02 but seeing that the price difference is less than $100.. I might be missing out going for the BR02. Though since they are smaller, perhaps it will perform better than BR03 up close?

My son it’s been playing guitar and singing he plays electric ⚡️ guitar also has a 12 string guitar wish gives a way different sound then a 6 string ! I’m trying to set up kind of a studio type for him to practice and work his craft . Would you recommend this speakers for a setting like this?? We’re getting to a stage where his gonna start recording getting a set up for his laptop usb mic and just a few things he needs. His only 14 his still learning and his self taught so I’m not trying to spend too much just yet !!

In all honesty for recording voice and instruments, an active monitor is a better, KRK is a good choice.
As a musician, home audio speakers don’t cut it, you need to use studio type monitors for recording

      Complete opposite
Kefs are very unbalanced in the bass response, require careful amp matching or they will sound terrible.
Furthermore the Kefs are very finicky for placement and overpriced as well.
Triangles are very neutral, tight low end, smooth tweeters. Easy to place. Very all around speaker. Excellent for the price point. They are not reference speakers but still very enjoyable.

15:49, I dont think this is true. If you watch the review from Tharbamar, he is reviewing the same black colored speaker as yours and he also has a sound demo comparing it to the Wharfedale Diamond 225 which is slightly modded, but still, you can easily tell that the Triangle BR03 is a brighter sounding speaker with more impactful (more mid-bass) and less extended (sub) bass. This also mirrors the measurements seen on the Audio science review website done by Amir. I have to say, I love the look of these speakers and they dont sound bad at all, but I can see them being fatiguing for some (like myself). As for the positive reviews, maybe the reviewers who say that this speaker is not too bright are used to brighter sounding speakers like the Klipsch RP-600m or the Kef LS50! To them the BR03 is not so bright but for someone used to the Wharfedale or Elac sound signature, these maybe bright. The most interesting thing is you are a previous Elac Debut 6.2 owner!!! Now I have not seen the measurements for the 6.2 but the Debut Refrence measures much smoother in the treble region then the BR03. I am leaning much more towards the Elac Debut Reference, but I have to admit, I keep coming back to these BR03 simply for how good they look!!! I do wonder though how the BR07 sounds?! They are the smaller tower version and they should have better bass! No reviews on it though which is a shame.

    • @sidsreviews1110
      @sidsreviews1110  3 года назад +2

Hi Reza. Yes I’m aware of Tharbamer review and I respect his thoughts on the BR03. But I live with these speakers and I have it paired with the IotaVX and I’m telling you, they are not bright. They are forward in sound compared to the Debut 6.2 which are more laid back in nature. I’m not sure which speaker would be right for you but keep in mind of the amp you pair it with. It needs to sync to optimize your taste. Cheers.

Interesting comments, especially your comparison with the Elac Debut Reference, which I haven't heard, but which people say are similar to the original Elac Debut b5, which I own and love but with one caveat and that is that they can be too polite sounding sometimes. I thought these bro3 might be a good choice if I'm looking for a more lively sounding speaker but still very musical without sounding harsh. I do hope that the light oak version is not differently tuned or even worse sounding because that is the finish that I prefer by far.
