I have the BRO3 and I love them! I drive them with the Jeff Rowland 125 power amp and the Schiit Freya+ preamp. No listening fatigue here. Great presentation.
I encourage people to give a try to its smaller brother BR02, an absolutely amazing speaker, a beast in a smaller package. I own a pair of these and fell in love with Triangle brand that much that I own another pair from this brand but from EZ series, Titus - mind boggling sound from such a size, pair it with 5w single ended tube amp and it will make shy much larger and more expensive speakers.
@@dariostefek3758 Old Yamaha AX396, it sings wonderful. But dac is playing main role, firstly I was using Topping E50 and it was okay, but when I switch to MusicalFidelity V-DACII it was way way better, very punchy mids and more textured bass. From amps I even tried small TubeCube7 on it, really beautiful sounding but can't go too loud cuz it's only 3.5w per channel. But for late night listening sessions it's great.
I agree with your assessment. Shawn at ZF pointed me towards the Bro3, so today I spent 3hr in listening room at my local retailer. The sample room was much closer to a regular room in a home w/ minimal acoustic treatments - which I find preferable, since that will minimize any surprises when you bring it home. Three meters wide and 5m long with perhaps 3m ceiling. Majority of drywall w/ 6 scatter panels on walls and 2 large bass absorbers behind the speakers. Since I already planned to hear the Bro3 along with Klipsch 600M, we started w/ Klipsch + Cambridge AXR100. Quite quickly that sound was not for me so we switched to Bro3, and what a difference - this was music, while Klipsch was noise and tiring at that. The whole 3h session consisted w/ playing same songs from several albums of Supertramp, The Doors, early Led Zeppelin (that is not great sound wise), old Genesis, old Yes and few others. But especially we played the initial 30s of Grover Washington song "Winelight". We ditched the Klipsch altogether and hooked up the Bro3's to the higher grade Cambridge amp the CX81, which is quite highly regarded in terms of the large "stage" it is touted to create. Well, it did all that and was easily, recognizably better sounding - Bro3 combined w/ CA CX81 - a real winner to my ears at that point. Since I wanted to sample the Emotiva gear we hooked up the Emotiva PT1 amp. In direct comparison w/ CX81, it was no match for the "stage" and precision, bassiness and delicacy of sound. Since this retailer, did not have the Emotive B1+ speakers on hand, while advising me that the B1+ is not a great sounding speaker, I asked still if we could try the floor standing model T1+ just one step up larger form than the B1+. We ran that w/ both Emotive Pt1 as well as CA CX81 amps. Indeed the sound impression on my ears was disappointing. It was especially surprising that the Emotiva speakers did not sound better w/ Emotiva amp, as opposed to CX81, while w/ CX81 they lost the "stage" they had with Bro3. While Bro3 offers a well organized sound experience , that Emotiva column more akin to the noise that Klipsch 600M presented w/ even worse mess of a sound. Towards the end we mated the KEF Q350 speakers w/ CA CX81 and did several back-to-back switchovers with Bro3's. To my ears KEF's were NO MATCH to Bro3. Unfortunately, that retailer does not carry the ELAC brand so I will have to visit other stores to finalize my search/research.
I've owned my BR03's for three years paired to a Cambridge AXR-100 as you auditioned. I have no complaints at all. This combo has handled all my sound sources (TV with streaming device, turntable, and CD player) without any issues. To my ears everything has sounded great without any harshness and fatigue. I'm sometimes still surprised at the detail and background low-end that I get from this setup. It's like I know I shouldn't be surprised since it has proven itself many times, but I guess it's more of a "I never noticed that before" moment. I highly recommend this combination. PS: If paring them with the CXA81 makes them sound even better, and you have the budget, then it's worth it.
I bought my new Green/Oak finish BRO 3's a few months ago @ $349.00. A decisive factor for me was the good reviews and their high sensitivity and high impedance. I'm running Roon out to a Zen Stream (mint used) w/USB out to a S.M.S.L. DO300EX DAC ($398. on sale) which then outputs to an Eastern Electric Minimax Tube Integrated @ 8 watts. (dealer demo $650.) note: I'd read that the BRO 3's treble can get a bit bright on some tracks, my suspicion was that the tube's sweet treble would prevent any harshness in the treble. Happily it does. BTW, the BRO 3's with the volume control @ 11:00 o'clock get very loud. >85db measured in a medium size room. 80Hz and below is routed to a Totem Acoustics Kin Sub (sealed 8" driver - 3db down @ 29Hz) I'm very happy with this system. The BRO 3's compare favorably with my 3 times more expensive ELAC Carina BS 243.4 bookshelves. Ancillary equipment; iFi LAN iSilencer, iFi AC iPower X, Upgraded ECL82-MULLARD OLD LOGO NOS tubes. upgraded cables, Herbie's Audio Labs Isolation feet. EVS Music Purifiers & Ground Enhancers (BIG Improvement) Planned upgrades; ACME Fuses, H.A.L.'s Tube Dampers, Bybee QSE Clarifiers, SignalCable MagicPower cord for the amp and MagicPower Digital Reference Power cord for the DAC. Here's my two cents based on being into this hobby/obsession since 1971... Buy at discount whenever possible, save your money so you're positioned to take advantage of sales/used opportunities. Buy equipment that fits your preferences. Think synergy, synergy, synergy... Regardless of how good the equipment is, it can be improved with accessories. Manufacturers build to a price point, they have to cut corners somewhere, that's where accessories that address those weaknesses come into play. Rather than playing on the equipment "merry go round", buy solid equipment, then upgrade to compensate for any minor weaknesses. Here's the thing about accessories and 'tweaks'... they're cumulative and often you don't recognize what they do... until you've had them in the system for a while and then take them out of the system. When you do it can come as a shock. Well FWIW, that's my experience, and as always YMMV.
Great value loudspeaker, the bro3 was my first Triangle speaker, was so impressed I decided to go further up stream, bought the Genese Trio but found them opposite to the bro3, warm laid back, lacked exitment that the bro3 offered. Would totally recommend the bro3 withe right amp eg: tube amp like the Willsenton R8.
I had Bro3 too with Rega Brio, they were excellent for their price and I was happy for long time, but upper midrange was sometimes too prominent. Now I have Triangle Comete Ez and like them very much with Unison Research Unico Nuovo amplifier (with better tubes). You can put Cometes closer to rear wall than Bro3:s, but subwoofer is also beneficial.
@@hanskiiiid I have a Triangle Comete Ez, your amp is too expensive for me, what would you suggest something cheaper, let's say up to $800, they can be used. I would appreciate suggestions
Listening to this review on my BR02s in a near-field setup hooked up to SMSL AO200 with HIFIMAN EF400 as the source 😎A sub is on the way to make them sound even more awesome. Was surprised to hear that BR03s competed with KEF LS50s.
I'm also thinking of adding sub to my BR02 .. wondering how much inch driver subwoofer I should get 🤔.. And also how much does a Sub adds to the already good bass of BR02. Does it improve the fullness of body in vocals? .. which i crave more sometimes from BR02
@@asheshchand3616 yes and no. I have a def tech cube 2 which supliments the low end very well but if you are getting a sub i highly recommend a sub with speaker level inputs and known to have quick decay as well. This is mainly due to how fast the br03 woofer decays and the sub needs to keep up otherwise the pairing will sound off. Besides def tech, speedwoofer makes pretty good subs that pair well. Not sure about triangles own subs as i havent tried them. With regards to adding body it will abit but if its shifting the tonality then the sub is cranked way too loud
Adorama is selling them for $319 shipped. It's an amazing deal for the sound you get and also hard to believe the dealer and the manufacturer are both making decent profits on these speakers.
Your review is spot on. The upper mids/lower treble was too much for me after a few months so I sold them. If I had EQ I believe I could have made them work since they have so many good qualities for the money. I settled on ELAC Uni-Fi U5 for my zone 2 system. As a side note I hope you get your hands on a RME DAC and a Aiyima AO7.
so interesting! i have had the Elac Uni-fi on my second system (like them a lot!) (powered by a cambridge audio cxa81). just ordered a pair of BR03 i got on sale and i'm very curious to see how they will compare to the Elacs! will report later with impressions!
I bought the BR03 on sale and a Rega Brio used and your assessment of this combination is spot on. So engaging and musical, just makes me smile like an idiot during listening sessions… I think my wife is a bit concerned lol. I considered pairing with the IOTAVX SA3 per Zero Fidelity’s reco, but I loved the half width and minimalist aesthetic of the little Brio. It’s muscular and musical delivery belies it’s modest size and outward appearance. Overall highly recommend this amp/speaker combo!
@@ellm8089 I have to tell you in all honesty I LOVE LOVE LOVE my setup. I cannot imagine a better value in terms of sound for the money from the small but mighty Brio and the Triangles and my Rega P2 with upgraded cartridge. My brother in law bought a much much more expensive and well reviewed setup with Monitor Audio silvers and Roksan amp for well over $3000. They are beautiful pieces, but there is no way anyone convinces me his sounds better. Incredible value!
Excellent review.I'm not into forward (in your face)sounding speakers. So i bought a month ago Q 3030i with Yamaha a-s 501.I was very worry maybe the sound turn out to be too bright for me.Ηappily the sound is laid back. The highs are crystal but not offencive, the mids are warm and revealingly and the bass deep and strong (in my room). In some movies bass gets very low frequencies like a subwoofer! The whole room is shaking!!So i don't have to spend more money for a subwoofer. Like i said i was worry about the synergy between them but Yamaha A-S 501 proved to be a true gem.
Your description & assessment of sound qualities are one of your strengths, generally. Very helpful, in my opinion, for those are trying to compare & contrast, from whatever distances they have to sort through the process of vetting products. Discussions about the relationships products have with eachother within a system, and then to the slant of your own preferences as a listener - potentially a customer, is a service to serve and benefit to viewers.
Great Review! I have a pair of Elac Uni-fi on a second system (like them a lot!) (powered by a cambridge audio cxa81). just ordered a pair of BR03 i got on sale and i'm very curious to see how they will compare to the Elacs! will report later with impressions! Thanks for your very interesting review!
Great review. Convinced me to exchange my elacs debut 6.2 with these. What a difference in sound stage and bass. My jazz recording of Bill Evans sounded so dull on the Elacs and now became alive! I was a bit scared for the whathifi comment they can't be placed near wall, but doesn't seem to matter. Though maybe the sound is going to be even better when places in the room. Don't have the space for that though...
They dip down under 4 ohm in the bass and if you want to play laud and still have a tight bass you need a amplifier with good damping factor! I tried a Rega Brio-r amp but that amp didn't have enough damping factor. BR03 has a bump in the upper bass and a warm sounding amp like Rega Brio can make the bass a bit to much (as if they add a 15 kg to the singer) Other then that they are AMAZING, if you place them on the right stand and into the room. If you have a big room I think you better go for the BR08 floor standing. With the right set and setting the Triangle Borea BR03 are a gate way drug to audiophilism.
I find the Brio to be very weak, mediocre sounding, and hugely overpriced. It's all mids and has very weak bass and rolled off highs. For $1100 you can do far far better
@@DougMen1 It's quite a lot cheaper in the UK (£700 or around $810). But never heard it myself, so don't know how it sounds. For the British magazine, What Hi Fi, Rega can do little wrong and gets lauded to the skies for a lot of their gear. I'm a bit suspicious that there's too cosy a relationship between the mag and Rega. It will be very interesting to hear what Srboljub has to say about it. For my money, the slightly cheaper Audiolab 6000A (£649) is a far better deal, having an internal DAC and remote control plus separable pre- and power amp sections. I use one in my secondary, near-field system, where to my ears it sounds glorious.
Agreed for the price they are really great . They are very engaging because the midrange is very present . I think the midrange is pushed up a little . They do not compare at all with the KEF LS 50 Metas . True they are $1000 dollars more but it will be the only speaker you ever buy . There is no comparison but for the price point they are excellent.
I run these in nearfield with a denon PMA 600ne on my desk, they sound amazing. PC as a source allows some easy equalizing as well. Previously in the living room with a class D Hypex NCore module, sounded even better. Agree that they are 'sensitive' to neutral DACs. I tried them with a a number of DACS, from topping E30 to a topping D70s. The latter was somewhat too detailed for these slightly treble heavy speakers.
Your showing of the Acoustic Invader Fulcrum integrated amp did not go unnoticed. Having seen the price on that unit, I'm anxious for you to compare it to your cheaper separates from the same manufacturer.
It's a great piece of gear for sure. It sounds more refined than the previous affordable preamp but of course not nearly as much as the price difference might suggest. The build is another level however.
These are simply amazing. I've had mine paired with a bunch of high-medium grade amps (both tube and solid state and combos) , but I was really surprised when I paired it with the new little Rega Brio amp. The textures on vocals and other types of music is just incredible. You can hear every little nuance and grate on voices and instruments. I don't like music to be "smoothed" over too much and I also don't like to top end to be too bright. The Brio does a very good job on taming the highs. This pairing is just sublime. I'm using an SMSL DAC an I also think it compliments it very well. Thanks for confirming what I've thought. I almost felt guilty for getting so much pleasure out of such an "affordable" speaker!! 😁(LOL! I wrote this before you whipped the Brio out- snap!). BTW this pairing is also incredible for just watching TV etc. because of the great clarity in vocals and tone.
I will soon find out how these will sound on a vintage amp. I have a pioneer sx-727 receiver that I will be using to power these speakers. The SX-727 has a nice warm natural sound so I’m hoping it will pair nicely with these. I will be using a higher powered amp to power larger speakers for the bass I like when listening at louder volumes. We shall see.
I have the Triangle Plaisir Zeta (stripped down but essentially the same as Color series) which I really like. For a small speaker, it sounds larger but well balanced across the spectrum, with good resolution and detail, dynamic enough and just the right kind of bass that anymore and any lower would start to sound boomy. Pairing it with a sub would be sufficient. Too bad they were overlooked and now discontinued. I liked it better than the Borea 2 but the Borea series is well received by alot of people. Perhaps it is the titanium tweeter which I prefer. Not as refined as more expensive speakers as it will expose sibilance and glare in recordings but it is highly listenable as well as engaging. Plays well with class D or AB.
Great review. These are polarizing speakers because people love them or hate them.BTW if you can find a pair of used LS50's for $400 please buy them for me and I will add $100 when you shipp them. Here in the USA used ones still go for $600-$750. have pair.I think it would be great if you got the Polk Reserve R200 which is the hot speaker right now as far as I can tell and unlike Elac an Kef seem like Bro3 they are easy to drive
Also, if I may, just a small suggestion: can you give examples of the music you listen to as you're testing equipment? I find that additional info very interesting and insightful. And for these speakers in particular: are they picky when it comes to genres? Are they forgiving when it comes to quality of recording? Thanks!
Always nice reviews! I just got 2 white Triangle Bro 3, i bought them second hand(the seller bought the KEF's LX 50 active, so that's why). Before the Triangles i used Dali Oberon 5, which i also like. But i live in a small apartment in Amsterdam(30m2) and sometimes the bass on the Oberon's were a little to much(depends on the track of course), tiring sometimes. Don't have concrete in the apartment, only drywall and wood. I will keep the Dali's, bought them new 2 years ago. But.. the sound out of the Bro 3's for me at least, is very pleasant. The Dali's are 39hz(low) bassport at the rear; the Triangle's 46hz, bassports at the front. The sound out of the Triangles remembers me of Celestion speakers in the '80's. Or am i totaly wrong?? I'm not saying that the Dai's are bad; not at all, but i can listen to de Triangles complete playlists on Spotify ore Tidal, no problem. With the Dali's some tracks are tiring; to much low frequencies. Maybe my room is to small for the Dali's(they are not big by the way, but are floorstanders(more cabinet-volume), the Triangle's are bookshelf speaker,( less cabinet volume). Amplifier; a totaly restored Sansui AU-317 (50 watt or something), connected with a BueSound Node 2i, connected with ethernet cable to the modem. Everything(bass/treble) on zero, also the tone control on the Buesound. Very happy with the Borea 3!!..... And with the Oberon 5's.. Sorry for the long story... And..looking fot the "perfect" sound is an endless story of course.. Yeahh..it's a hobby.
In my opinion the Jamo C93 Concert series has a larger Soundstage than the Klipsch RP-600M and those cost about $399.00. If you ever get a chance to review them that would be fantastic. Thanks
I had these speakers for a year. They are amazing speakers for their price. Very forward very good for vocals and acoustic music. I had them connected to a Rega IO amp which was 30 watt on 8 ohms. Rega IO drove boreas extremely well. Rega added some warmness to Boreas which made them sound exceptionally good. The system sounded like much more expensive system. Later I replaced them with KEF LS50 Metas with KEF KC62 and Hegel H95 which of course enlarged the sound stage and depth. Funny enough like Rega paring well with the Boreas KEF LS50 Metas paired very well with Hegel. I was lucky in paring both speakers with the right amps
I tried the Bro3 with a SMSL A300 D amp and you are right. The sound was super revealing/airy but I was not convinced it was a good match. Tried the Bro 2 with Topping PA5 for my office setup - very nice, but needed a very good run in of at least 16 hours to start sounding right. The Bro 2 has a more "natural " sound compared to the Bro 3 - IMO, but also quite detailed a. I like it for classical/accoustic music. I also use Dali speakers, but they much more intense and focused.
@@katebush8415 I dont fully agree. Topping amps have impressed me. I have had some cheap fosi amps that have sounded amazing! with certain speakers . I have realised pairing the right amps and speaker placement are key. The new German infineon chips are very good, and I am sure the tech will get better.
@@mangs9940 I've had Aiyima a07, and when I bought a $200 used rotel from the 90s I was just blown away by the difference. I don't see why anyone would spend more than $50 on class D amplifiers, they are okay but not worth a lot of money.
@@katebush8415 i gree, but the Topping PA5 is more expensive and a different level. you can see by the excelllent real measurments on audio science review. I have had about 6 different d amps ranging from £60 to £250. : results/reveiw :Topping PA5 Speaker Listening Tests I am confident of the transparency of this amplifier with respect to noise and distortion. However, I was curious how far its power goes. So I hooked up the PA5 to my Infinity Reference 253 speaker. I must stay, I was not prepared for the level of impact, fidelity and overall quality of the sound. The PA5 grabbed the ears of this speaker and pulled it any direction music asked it to like nobody's business! There was thundering bass. Superb high frequency and ability to fill my space despite only playing one speaker. It was hard to imagine this little amplifier powering this speaker so beautifully.
@@mangs9940 In that case I urge you to try a good class AB amplifier. I had a Rotel RB-960bx if that helps. I don't think measurements mean too much, some are important sure but I would not rely on them. I do believe something like PA5 is much better than aiyima a07, I just very much doubt it in any way comes close to my rotel. According to measurements I shouldn't have heard any difference between the two amplifiers, and that is frankly a bunch of lies. They say if amplifier measures well and gets loud enough that thats all there is to it, nobody serious about audio buys that, they are probably not measuring some important things and they focus too much on things that don't matter at all.
Prvo, jako mi je drago da vidim ozbiljnog hifi RUclipsrs sa ovih prostora. I svaka čast!
I got Borea 3 and like them more than my Klipsch, B&W, Elac unifi, and more. I sold all my other speakers which cost $600 to $1,200. The Boreas are more lively, real band tone, 3 dimension like a band in the room. The opposite of Elac which were laid back, mellow almost boring to listen to tone.
Great review. I found the BR03 a little too much, but I think the Yamaha WXA50 I had was also part of the issue. I loved the engagement as you say. Would take these any day over the funnel of sound the LS50 or meta have. I’ve had all 3. I also wonder how a NAD D3020 or D3045 pairing with the triangle would be.
The Elac's are much more expensive, and that makes a difference at the budget end of the market I never understood why people want LS50, they're more studio monitor territory
In my system, I enjoy the Borea BR03 (quite a bit) more than the B&W 707 s2. More coherent- and natural-sounding. However, I am amping with a Class D, 25 wpc Wadia 151. If I had 60-100 good wpc, the B&W would probably win out, but not without a good, small subwoofer.
Hi, you are unique at describing the sound! Do you plan on doing a review on Rega Brio amp too at some point? That would be very desirable for me and a few others here i guess!
Great review. I bought the BR03 a week ago but have not tested them yet. Do you consider the Rega Elex-R to be a better choice than the Brio or is a Rega IO enough. Brio is not available in the store in Sweden.
Great review! Can you get your hands on the Br03's little brother, BR02's? Some people say they're even better than the 03 because they're not as bright.
U sustavu još imam i mali DAC SMLS SU-1.
Great review. Triangle have a tradition for a sound that is full of life - I use older models and you could almost be reviewing those here too. Excellent about how to mix and match to get 95% awesome closer to 100%. Well done 🙂
Thanks for the review. Imo its a good thing that the BR03 are so picky. That means I can pair my headphone DAC with it and still get majority of the details I can get with my headphones. Quite honestly the LS50meta doesnt really compare which is kind of sad. The next upgrade for me would be the B&W 705 but its questionable weather I will ever go get it when the BR03 satisfies my light music and movie needs. For everything else headphones do it better. The only issue I have with the BR03 is that its simply not capable of sounding shrill when needed. I understand this is a plus point in the musicality department but damn it I want my steel accoustic guitar to sound realistic.
the price of this speaker in Germany/Austria went up over fifty euros about half-an-hour ago.... (I was coincidentally looking at reviews and checking prices -- only now seeing this review) EDIT// I presume that's a reflection of how seriously they take your reviews !!
I have limited possiblity for speaker positioning, so looking for front ported, would you recommend these for near field listening (speakers spaced 1.8m apart, sitting 1.8m in front) Powered by topping pa3 + dual akm velvet dac, pure streaming audio via roon / qobuz - good pairing?
I'm so glad you enjoyed these, Triangle is awesome. Just wait till you try the Esprit Titus EZ, same size as the BRO2, so maybe a bit less full in the bass department than these (but still punchy and tight down there), but in a whole different class otherwise. They can be found used for about £500. Prepare to be amazed...😅
A terrific review, Srboljub. Your prowess at description is unrivalled, imho. I'm wondering how they might pair with your original Acoustic Invader preamp with a decent class D power amp like the XTZ Edge A2-300? If the highs would be tamed by that combo, they'd be very tempting. BTW, if you ask a friend for a £50 loan and he lets you have it, then he's _lent_ the money to you. OTOH, you've _borrowed_ it from him. Even some native English speakers may get the two mixed up, so no big deal, just FYI.
First of all, thanks for clearing the loan-borrow directionality. I always wanted to check the difference but never got to it. As for the AI preamp +class D (what I'm using too), that should be a pretty neutral sounding combination. Triangle is bright so those neutral components + Triangle would exhibit some brightness. That could be balanced out with a juicy sounding source (EarMen Tradutto, SMSL M400 or 500 MKII, etc). So I think it could work but some care would be needed. In that system I would also avoid silver plated cables and rhodium plated connectors, I would stick to copper and gelded stuff.
@@iiWiReviews Well, besides the AI preamp and XTZ amp, I also have an Earmen Tradutto and listen exclusively to digital tracks. My speaker wires are also copper, so they should be okay... That said, after listening to your review, I watched a few others and there were differing opinions. You and Zero Fidelity love them. Z reviews and the Cheap Audio Man hate them. Could be a question of system matching or room acoustics, who knows.
I respect Zero Fidelity very much. I haven't watched his Triangle review (didn't want to be influenced) but I will. I can always tell that he spends proper time with every piece of gear. By the way, I can say the same about British Audiophile. On the other hand, Z reviews and Cheap Audio Man publish reviews much more often. It stands to reason that they work in tighter time windows and can't be as thorough. My guess would be that they had an unlucky pairing and not enough time to try different ones. Just thinking out loud here... But yeah, in the end, we all have our own taste and preferences.
@@iiWiReviews Sounds like a reasonable explanation. I too like the British Audiophile -- you have your unrivalled descriptions of sound, and he has his slightly more technical approach. I'd love to see you both hooking up some time to chat about anything hi-fi, really.
I love my Bro3! I have it paired with my musical paradise mp-301 tube amp. Only 6.5 watts but it makes my bro3s sing! Some say the bro3s can be abit bright but with the right equipment pairing, they sound awesome! Upgraded my tubes to tungsol EL34s which gave it more bass but still has that tube magic sound. Pairng is very important with any speaker imo. Awesome review as usual. Keep up the good work!
It's all about synergy, mate, all amps you listed are bright sounding amps, and the unifi are taming the amplification, so they complement one another. Put the triangles on an Arcam, and it's a completely different matter.
You are spot on about a Class D amp. I tried with my Cambridge Audio CXA81 and was ready to return the speaker then tried with WiiM Amp and they are transformed!

Yap, this is really good speakers, but if we talk about 1000 eu price range, you may want to hear Focal Aria 906 or cheaper version of it Focal Chora 806, I got mine Aria's for ~600eu in the middle of summer sale, direct from France brand new and I can't think anything better under 2000 😉I connected it to YBA Heritage A200 (France AMPs Brand), I tried Atoll, but I think YBA it's just slightly better, even a remote control is best in business comparing with 2x or 3x times pricier amps 🤔
I just checked my link to Amazon in the description. Price there is $350 so check that one if you're in the US. Here in Serbia, distributor price is around €400 but that includes taxes here so it's a good price.
Hi, maybe someone here can help me. I recently got these speakers used for very cheap and am looking to upgrade from my vintage Technics amplifier to a newer one that does the BR03s justice. I cannot afford the Rega Brio though. Any sub $300 amp recommendations?
I'm using a 19 year old Onkyo receiver with these (and an Onkyo CD player) in a small room. Right now listening to Vaughn Williams's Oboe Concerto on NPR FM radio - just enjoying the music.
E70 velvet has warmish sound that is not aggressive in any way. So it will not provoke the rest of the system. But you didn't mention the amp driving them... And that will be the last piece of the puzzle and overall tonality.
@@iiWiReviews Thanks for reply, i have the Pioneer Elite vsx lx-305 audio-video amplifier that will may drive them as front speakers in direct mode through Cambridge mxn10 and the Topping e70 velvet using Qobuz. I also considering the Magnat signature 503 and Dali oberon 3 (will you review them?). Greetings from Italy and thank you.. so kind
You are always so good at describing the sound of any product in great detail
You are the best audio reviewer on RUclips !!!!
Great description I just bought the BR08 and I am impressed with them for the cost.
I have the BRO3 and I love them! I drive them with the Jeff Rowland 125 power amp and the Schiit Freya+ preamp. No listening fatigue here. Great presentation.
You have done it again! 26 minute video and never once looked at my watch. You are a truly engaging individual, love your work sir. 👍
I'm the owner of BR02. As I'm in a search for amp, may I ask what amp you have? Thanks!
@@psychoanima Thanks!
Early Led Zep not great sound ?? get a UK first pressing vinyl, they sound great
I've owned my BR03's for three years paired to a Cambridge AXR-100 as you auditioned.
80Hz and below is routed to a Totem Acoustics Kin Sub (sealed 8" driver - 3db down @ 29Hz)
I'm very happy with this system. The BRO 3's compare favorably with my 3 times more expensive ELAC Carina BS 243.4 bookshelves.
Ancillary equipment; iFi LAN iSilencer, iFi AC iPower X, Upgraded ECL82-MULLARD OLD LOGO NOS tubes. upgraded cables, Herbie's Audio Labs Isolation feet. EVS Music Purifiers & Ground Enhancers (BIG Improvement)
Planned upgrades; ACME Fuses, H.A.L.'s Tube Dampers, Bybee QSE Clarifiers,
SignalCable MagicPower cord for the amp and MagicPower Digital Reference Power cord for the DAC.
Great review and great album recommendation...listening to it now!
Try the BR08 you will find them like the big brother of the 03
Listening to this review on my BR02s in a near-field setup hooked up to SMSL AO200 with HIFIMAN EF400 as the source 😎A sub is on the way to make them sound even more awesome.
On sale $300 for the black pair Adorama
@@dinogiolitti2844 yep. I ordered it last week myself.
@@themastroiannis looking forward to it. ELAC UniFi is best with tweeter axis below ears. Definitely different sounding speakers.
That should be a nice combo
I am thinking about getting the same set up, I have a rege P3 turntable. Are you still happy with the set up with these speakers and the brio?
@@ellm8089 I have to tell you in all honesty I LOVE LOVE LOVE my setup. I cannot imagine a better value in terms of sound for the money from the small but mighty Brio and the Triangles and my Rega P2 with upgraded cartridge. My brother in law bought a much much more expensive and well reviewed setup with Monitor Audio silvers and Roksan amp for well over $3000. They are beautiful pieces, but there is no way anyone convinces me his sounds better. Incredible value!
Dude , you are 100%. Awesome 😎, fantastic video, 🙏🏻
Great job. Component compatibility is most of the game in audio. Finding the magic requires some effort.
They dip down under 4 ohm in the bass and if you want to play laud and still have a tight bass you need a amplifier with good damping factor! I tried a Rega Brio-r amp but that amp didn't have enough damping factor. BR03 has a bump in the upper bass and a warm sounding amp like Rega Brio can make the bass a bit to much (as if they add a 15 kg to the singer)
Other then that they are AMAZING, if you place them on the right stand and into the room. If you have a big room I think you better go for the BR08 floor standing.
With the right set and setting the Triangle Borea BR03 are a gate way drug to audiophilism.
good to know. was considering these, but have a warm (vintage) amp
Another very detailed and informative review. 👌 God bless!!!
Sir can you also review POLK AUDIO RESERVE R200 stand mounted speakers.
Thank you.
SRBOLJUB 🤗 “TO BE PERFECTLY HONEST WITH YOU “ is why we watch your reviews 😁💚💚💚
I run these in nearfield with a denon PMA 600ne on my desk, they sound amazing. PC as a source allows some easy equalizing as well. Previously in the living room with a class D Hypex NCore module, sounded even better. Agree that they are 'sensitive' to neutral DACs. I tried them with a a number of DACS, from topping E30 to a topping D70s. The latter was somewhat too detailed for these slightly treble heavy speakers.
Would you recommend the denon with these in an 11x14 room?
Glad to hear that someone is enjoying the exact combination I recommend in the video. Cheers!
Odlična recenzija Srboljube, kao i svaki put.Očekujem više recenzija zvučnika.Prijedlog Wharfadale Evo 4.2
pretty good for a 2 way & affordable 🤣 " i'm just gonne stop" 🤣 good review 👍👍
This is a very good entry level speaker that does not break the bank and the problem is there are many many options at this category
Nice video, very detail information. Please include a little bit of sound sample. I learn a lot from your videos.
Thanks
Hi, nice review. Do you know the Audiolab 6000a? Do you think it would be a good match like the Rega ?
To me they seem exceptional for voice and acoustic guitar/ instruments
@@johnholmes912 I agree
What amps/dacs under $600 do you think would pair well?
I tried the Bro3 with a SMSL A300 D amp and you are right. The sound was super revealing/airy but I was not convinced it was a good match. Tried the Bro 2 with Topping PA5 for my office setup - very nice, but needed a very good run in of at least 16 hours to start sounding right. The Bro 2 has a more "natural " sound compared to the Bro 3 - IMO, but also quite detailed a. I like it for classical/accoustic music. I also use Dali speakers, but they much more intense and focused.
let me save you some money and hearing. Class D is not good yet, especially these cheap products. Anything A-B will sound better.
: results/reveiw :Topping PA5 Speaker Listening Tests
I am confident of the transparency of this amplifier with respect to noise and distortion.
Kako čujemo muzikui je potpuno lična stvar. Elem, imam ove zvučnike. Po mom sudu, dobri su.. I wish you would talk more about the music you listen to. I enjoy your music choices.
Even at the US sale price of $400, they are awesome
Great review. I found the BR03 a little too much, but I think the Yamaha WXA50 I had was also part of the issue. I loved the engagement as you say. Would take these any day over the funnel of sound the LS50 or meta have. I’ve had all 3. I also wonder how a NAD D3020 or D3045 pairing with the triangle would be.
The Elac's are much more expensive, and that makes a difference at the budget end of the market
I never understood why people want LS50, they're more studio monitor territory
Dear Mr.Srboljub I am looking for a dac/amp combo up to max 400$ to pair with Triangle Borea BR03 what would be your recomendation?
In my system, I enjoy the Borea BR03 (quite a bit) more than the B&W 707 s2. More coherent- and natural-sounding. However, I am amping with a Class D, 25 wpc Wadia 151. If I had 60-100 good wpc, the B&W would probably win out, but not without a good, small subwoofer.
I'd be very interested to hear your take on the Adam T5Vs. They are 230$ cheaper AND have an integrated amplifier.
Hi, you are unique at describing the sound! Do you plan on doing a review on Rega Brio amp too at some point? That would be very desirable for me and a few others here i guess!
Thanks! I will be doing Brio review... Probably sometimes at the end of the next month I guess.
@@iiWiReviews Thanks, that would be nice!
Great review.
I bought the BR03 a week ago but have not tested them yet.
Do you consider the Rega Elex-R to be a better choice than the Brio or is a Rega IO enough. Brio is not available in the store in Sweden.
Nice to see, that you got a review of the R26 in the making! Can´t wait to hear your opinion :-) !
Great review!
Can you get your hands on the Br03's little brother, BR02's? Some people say they're even better than the 03 because they're not as bright.
Pozdrav
U sustavu još imam i mali DAC SMLS SU-1.
I added a subwoofer.
Nice 👌
Great review. Triangle have a tradition for a sound that is full of life - I use older models and you could almost be reviewing those here too. Excellent about how to mix and match to get 95% awesome closer to 100%. Well done 🙂
Hi iW how about a Denon DRA800H integrated receiver and a Denon DP300f turntable would they be a good match with the Triangles? Thanks!
I love this combination, DRA-800H and BRO3.
Do you think the bro 3 would work with hegel h95?
Excellent review!
U not mention about the tonality..For me its the best tone ive ever heard from a budget bookshelf speaker..Instruments sound realistic
Ciao, puoi dirmi cosa ne pensi abbinare i Triangle Borea br 03 con l'integrato Lector zax 70 stato solido? Grazie.
the price of this speaker in Germany/Austria went up over fifty euros about half-an-hour ago.... (I was coincidentally looking at reviews and checking prices -- only now seeing this review)
EDIT// I presume that's a reflection of how seriously they take your reviews !!
the light oak & the walnut were available for 350, now €400 is the cheapest offer (black still cheaper)
Thanks for another review.
Would be great if you could review the Dangerous Music Source (DAC/PRE)
Thanx!! Great review. Your take on the Comète 40th Anniversaery speakers would be awesome!! Bill from Northeastern France !!
My BR03 speakers with Pioneer SX-750 power sound great! As good as it gets for me.
Change the tweeter xover components to premium stuff?
hello sir, im doubting between these and dbr62.. did you compare these two ? what would you pick
I have limited possiblity for speaker positioning, so looking for front ported, would you recommend these for near field listening (speakers spaced 1.8m apart, sitting 1.8m in front)
Powered by topping pa3 + dual akm velvet dac, pure streaming audio via roon / qobuz - good pairing?
Really good review! A listeners point of view and well articulated. Thanx!!
Been rocking br03 for years. I cant see any downside. I have it with a subwoofer though
Pozdrav! Thanks for the review. Could I run this speakers with Reisong A10 EL34 Tube Amplifier 2x 6w ?
Great fun speakers. Love them! Thanks.
BR03+Marantz pm6007 i love it
I love my Bro3!
Great review. Seems that we like similar sounds in speakers. What do you like in the $600-$700 range?
I didn't like them, but that's subjective of course, I settled with the Elac Unifi 2's.
out of interest, with what amp did you try them?
@@sdrtcacgnrjrc they are currently running off a Denon DRA-800H, but I also use an SMSL AO200 with them in another room.
@@sdrtcacgnrjrc also tried the BR03's at a friends on a Yamaha RX-V685
It's all about synergy, mate, all amps you listed are bright sounding amps, and the unifi are taming the amplification, so they complement one another. Put the triangles on an Arcam, and it's a completely different matter.
@@rains00the well I'm very happy with my sound now, not saying they were bad speakers, sound is subjective.
Now I'm anxiously anticipating your R26 review
You are spot on about a Class D amp.
I tried with my Cambridge Audio CXA81 and was ready to return the speaker then tried with WiiM Amp and they are transformed!
Ciao, ottima recensione, secondo te possono essere abbinate ad un amplificatore valvolare come il willsenton r300?
Ascolto prevalentemente jazz. Grazie
I haven't tried it, but given Borea's high sensitivity and resolving character, I think that combination might be a very good idea.
@@iiWiReviews thanks
Can I pair them with SMSL A300.?As far as I concerned, this amp is quiet similar to Rega Brio: both are quiet neutral. Am I right?
Brio is actually darker and more faty sounding, bolder than A300 which is very neutral and flat.
Excellent
Triangle Borea Bro3 vs Wharfedale Diamond 12.1??? What is the best????
Can I simply turn down the treble by 2-3 decibels?
Have you tried klipsch rp600m mkii and if you did how do they compare?
I didn't try MKII version.
what's the problem with the harder higher frequencies..? Can't you just adjust and lower that with the treble control in the amp. ??
How do they sound with the Sabaj A10A amp?
Told you they were great ❤
What are some other affordable amps that don't have a bright/harsh/fatiguing top end?
Any suggestions?
Denon pma 600ne.

Hi pal. I'd like to have your opinion on the performance of the Wharfedale 12,2 in comparison with the Triangle BR 03 .Thanks in advance.

Would SMSL C200+A300 be a good pair?
Where did you find these for $400? I'm seeing these at least $150.00 more.
Have yo considered buying a 2nd-hand amp ?
BR02 Is even better…midrange wise
Pairing with dac e70 velvet?
E70 velvet has warmish sound that is not aggressive in any way. So it will not provoke the rest of the system. But you didn't mention the amp driving them... And that will be the last piece of the puzzle and overall tonality.
@@iiWiReviews Thanks for reply, i have the Pioneer Elite vsx lx-305 audio-video amplifier that will may drive them as front speakers in direct mode through Cambridge mxn10 and the Topping e70 velvet using Qobuz. I also considering the Magnat signature 503 and Dali oberon 3 (will you review them?). Greetings from Italy and thank you.. so kind
