- ButtKicker just released their new Gamer and Gamer Plus along with their new HaptiConnect software. They were kind enough to send us their new products to test out. But how good is it?
We’ll I’ve tested them and I explain in this video if they are worth it, how it works, and what you have to think about before purchasing.
For a limited time "Hapti Connect" software is included in the purchase of Either the Gamer Plus or The Gamer Pro system.

Ive just been convinced from watching and listening to your review. Iam getting this 100%
I've had one for 2 yrs. I use it mainly for braking and traction feedback. It helps train you and make you better at braking and turning.
This is a game-changer for anybody who's been afraid to spend hours/days/weeks tweaking their transducers for the right feel. I loaded this software a couple of days ago and was off and running in minutes. This review is great, and I am only rocking the old-gen Gamer2s. First party software is so much easier to deal with than the current third party apps I've had to use. No more messing with freqs and curves. Just having a slider for volume and still having clear, separate effects is amazing. Excellent job, ButtKicker, and as always....great stuff, Shaun. I'd expect nothing less from the Godfather of Sim Racing :D
Great to hear!
there is something called simhub and its free that does the same thing and even better stop spreading bs marketing i know u are affilated with buttkicker company
Great video. Also I noticed you printed out one of my 3D art renders (the one with the Ferrari and gas station) haha super cool glad you liked it ;)
Great review - in depth and so helpful on setup as well as getting what the new versions add to your sim!
Thank you very much for this really detailed video. Watching the adjustments that you were making in the software and hearing the rig vibrate really explained it well.
Another great video! My Gamer Pro arrives Thursday to add to my Trak Racer. Since my wife really enjoyed leisurely driving in Forza Horizon 5…I wanted to strike while the iron was hot and add on the next mod lol. I’m hoping this doesn’t mess with my normal 7.1 Surround via my AVR.
Thank you, i just bought the pro and Rseat P1 cockpit after watching your reviews, appreciate it 👍
Feedback??
Thank you so much for a great video regarding the ButtKicker and it's amplifier. Your advice and guidance regarding the HaptiConnect software was priceless. I'm not an racer but a flight simmer. I've been very fortunate to get the ButtKicker gamer pro, a present from my girl-friend and have just set it up using the default settings for MSFS 2020 within the HaptiConnect Config settings. Thanks to your guidance I can now tinker with the setting with some degree of confidence. Kind regards. Alan - UK
That is awesome man! I hope you enjoy it!
Ive got the gamer 2 version, and as Shaun says "once you tried a buttkicker its really hard not too love it"
It gives so much feel and immersion 👍
Its a must 👍
I agree with you on immersion, but does it clip easy. I am willing to drop 300+ if the clipping at the drop of a hat is gone. I bought the buttkicker2 based off his review years ago and he never mentioned it cutting out from clipping which if he used it at all he had to have experienced. Always concerned when it is a paid review which it is if he got it free.
@@tomashopper2034 ive havent had any issues yet , so its really just a matter of you taking a chance 👍
Its 300$ so not gonna have you go broke .
@@tomashopper2034 i think your settings must be off or the device faulty, because clipping is not my issue at all. overheating is my issue and i'm pretty sure other people too by the comments I've been reading.
Wow what a great review. Can’t wait for my gamer plus to arrive!!
Fantastic review and channel. I have a buttkicker on the way and can't wait!
Nice detailed review, thanks. I was comparing the pro vs plus and only The SimPit explains it well.
That shift paddle would drive me insane! 😂
Thanks, man, this was beneficial to my decision to buy this product.
Great info Shaun,, finally a telemetry based system,, you may have just cost me my next £300 upgrade,, 🤣😃
Great review. I'm sold.
Thank you for covering these new options, going to pre order for flying rig, 👏✊
Awesome video, very helpful
Thank you this answered my questions completely
Great info, simvibe on the accuforce I have never adjusted a single thing and its spot on 🤙
That was a great and informative video. 👍
Great job on the review! Thank you!
Is Sean reviewing the Moza? or is that his? Would be interesting if a long time sim reviewer chose that over so many other reputable offerings...
Well after watching this video I got the Gamer Plus, and it is not good, if you crank up any effects it keeps shutting down, it may work 5 minutes it may work 25 minutes, but it will stop and then after it will come back. Customer service response was get the Pro, I mean if you got the volume and sliders to reach a certain point the equipment should be able to actually use it.
Their advice , don't get sliders past half way and keep volume at default (30) ,
Granted the few moments it works it is very fun
Great review and thanks for uploading Shaun!
By the way any plans to bring back The Pitstop any time soon?
We're doing the pitstop now on twitch. I've changed the format a bit. Now we sit and chat about big news and other things, then we race together afterwards
Great review! Thanks
Will the software work for ACC in ps5? Or is it only for pc?
hi, very good video! you can say the height of the buttkicker pro because I don't know if its going under my simracing chassis because it is very low on my chassis. thanks in advance
They are having a killer 30% off deal right now on the pro. I'm wondering if I can use these with simhub? I currently have a few dayton pucks and a dayton bst1 under my seat.
thanks for that video ;) I got a SimLab P1X simrig what would you prefer on that rig, the pro or plus?
Looks terrific! How come you no longer use the GSeat?
i have my PC attached to the front right side of my rig and i’m wondering if this will cause any damage to it from the vibration ??
So i have 2 buttkickers connected, one on the pedals and one on the seat. Is it my understanding you can’t separately control haptics to the fromt from the rear? Its a global control? I really want to send the rpms to the pedals but NOT TO THE SEAT? How do i do that?
Hey Shawn question for you if I have a gamer 2 transducer can I run that as a front and back configuration into the new amp and soundcard? So use my old transducer from the gamer 2 along with the gamer plus?
What is the lowest volume you can have the amp at to still feel the effects (Gamer Plus)?
I don't want the sound to pass through the walls of my bedroom (less concerned about floor - live on 1st floor)
My walls are a little thicker than average 1/2" drywall (I have plaster + rock lathe) and I have 2 solid core doors adjacent to each other
Will be on an "8020" style rig, tile floor, casters, and will look into trying to isolate the rig off the ground as much as possible
Your video didn't make the rumble sound too bad at 35% volume but I wonder how loud it would be after everyone goes to sleep...
Since the pro model has more overhead would it allow you to run it at a lower settings and get the same results with less rattling since you wouldn't be running the drivers so hard? I play a lot at night and would like to keep my rig as quiet as possible.
I bought the Pro a few days ago with the same thought in mind. Tbh..It barely feels any stronger than the Gamer. I'm dealing with a case of buyers remorse now. I'm currently brainstorming for other mounting alternatives in order to get the most effect possible.
I most definitely wouldn't recommend mounting it firing horizontally. Up and down fire is the only acceptable way imho.
Very informative thank you
Great video ...thanks. I have 2 Pro's ...in my Flight Rig. I want to do front & rear ...the front Kicker is on the structure that the floor mounted stick is on & works superb ...I need to keep it dialed down mind you. However ...I cannot get the rear unit to work. In Hapticonnect setup after choosing "front - rear" I do not see them numbered. Should I see 1& 2? ...both only display as Buttkicker ...no number to different them. I run the front in mono until I can get front & rear to both work. Any suggestions? Do they need to be connected together via the rear RCA output jack? ...daisychained?
Is the software compatible with M1 Macs?
Does your amp make noise when it is turned off with the remote but still has the physical power switch turned on? My plus makes a noise louder than my computer fans and it is super annoying. They sent me a replacement amp and it does the same thing and they said it's normal.
Very interesting device!
I also have a home motion simulator driving video available on this account. I wanted to try this as well, especially since vibration is an important feedback.
I see your amp clipping a lot. Mine constantly clips. I have the volume at 30. Any solution to this?
Before a house fire took my shit. I had three kicker. Two on sim vibe and one on the sounds bass. Amazing immersion from them.
what mount did you use? thanks
Which one would you choose? In EU they're almost in the same price. Only PRO is missing mounting holes...
I see you have the rSeat P1.
It's your keyboard and mouse tray from rseat as well?
Is there any chance we can use the HaptiConnect software and use with different amps, transducers?
Im using a T GT 2 on a GT Omega Titan....would you suggest me the plus or pro???I dont want waste money one something not necessary....thanks for that!
Does it clip and then eventually cut out like the butt gamer 2? If not it would be a buy.
Thats the problem I had. went to a second amp to rum just 1 mini and still shut off. Hoping the upgraded Pro amp and driver dont shut off like the old one
I have the pro and it constantly clips
Hearing that you used to use 4 and seeing that this new generation has such heavy duty mounts makes me want to buy 3- I have a rather heavy rig so it's seeming like it's going be best to mount a pro to my bottom and a plus to each of my stick mounts unless anyone thinks I don't need that much. I have monstertech mounts with the keyboard and mouse tray extensions, so both sides are pretty heavy.
Good job, thanks!
I don’t have a sound card currently, will I have to buy one?
Those look really nice👍now I have four buttkicker gamers 2 and im running SIM vibe. Now will those new buttkicker run this software? Or do you have to run their stuff only
What's the racing seat that's being used in this video? Looks super comfortable.
I tried a DIY transducer setup a few years ago and had horrible luck with bad parts from Amazon. I fought with it for weeks and never got it running properly. I eventually convinced myself that I didn't need it and gave up. This new Buttkicker looks like a home run. Easy setup, plenty of power. It would be cool if they came out with a 4 transducer amp for running 2-4 of them. Then those who want 4 don't have to run 4 separate amps.
"It's not a motion simulator" I think it is Emotion simulator. :D
i cant wait to receive mine 😁😁
Very nice review!
New design looks awesome.
I wish someone could demonstrate how this gets installed and works with PS4/PS5 or any console game. ;)
Agree completely. I’m on PS5 too.
Yes pls!
Need a Audio extractor and two HDMI
@@SolidSL510 what is an “audio extractor”?
@@lucianoraus The audio extractor sends sound to a separate audio device (such as speakers or a soundbar) without impacting your HDMI video quality. This lets you play audio through a different playback device than your video and is useful when your video playback device cannot play audio.
Great review!!!
Can it be used to simulate the vibration the Xbox controller would produce in any game that supports Xbox controller vibration? I use a flight and pedal setup for racing games but miss having vibrations.
I have the buttkicker gamer 2, and right out the box it works on all my racing sim games, fps games, other genre of games and movies/music... how come this new buttkicker design to work on just those few games without having to pay more?
the software has two modes, game connect mode wich uses telemetry data for slected games, it also has a audio splitter mode that will work on any game, but it based on just audio data, however you dont need to use any audio y-spliters so its alot cleaner of a install, all you do is plug it into a usb port
also the software is only 30 bucks with lifetime updates if you order early
OK - I finally ordered a Buttkicker (Gamer Plus), always wanted one, clearly this is the perfect time, thanks! One question - no rig, will attach it to a mount under a chair (not the center post) - does it matter if it is mounted off center under the seat, can you tell the difference? Or should it for sure be centered? Thanks.
MOUNT IT anywhere u can clamp it too..make a mount if u have too out of anything ...u will feel those vibrations no matter where u place it,,,,closer to your azz is ideal...no joke
Testing wise, isn’t there a quick test as on fanatec software for wheel? Press a button and it gives the effect, thank you
Wait a second, you’re telling me this works with a console too? I can dial in all settings as you had on PC and console will mimic all that. If on my PS5 console I jump from Dirt2 to AC or ACC do I have to change channel? I know ACC support software is not out yet but it would be cool. Thank you
Will the software work on other shackers besides butkickers?
I’ve been looking everywhere for this bit of information, but does anyone know the distance between the mounting feet? I’m wondering if it’ll fit using some of the pre drilled holes on my seat brackets.
Hi Shaun, does this work with PS5?
Does it provide useful information while driving?
Couldn't they just make an Aux connection to a monitor?
Great video as always!👍🏻😁
It’s a little tricky connecting to consoles depending on console type connections, but yes works fine.
i simply connected mine to my pre out on my av reciiver, works fine on sub pre out or front channel pre out if you set speakers to large to bypass the crossover, if you dont want to bypass your corossover due to less then capable speakers then the sub pre out is the way to go, the buttkicker comes with all the correct cables to do this already. from there i have my ps5 connected with HDMI to the av reciver, however you do have to have the volume turned up on the AV reciver for the buttkicker to sense the signal
@@turdpeterson73 Hello Turd, do I need extra receiver to use this buttcicker on PS5? You confused me. I play on headphones out from controller.thank you
you could hook it up off headphone jack off the controller, the buttkicker does comes a 3.5 male to dual femal y-splitter, its just gonna be raw audio thouugh, a AV reciver is a home theater sound system, i use a yamaha RX-V6A. my tip was for people that have full surround systems you can filter out some of the vibations threw the reciver it self, since we cant use telemtry data on gt7 as it dosent support it. so the answer is no you dont need a extra reciver to hookup the buttkicker, but if you happen to have one you can get slighty better results then just raw audio
@@turdpeterson73 wow what an essential information! You’re really helpful. I wish somebody would meake a video of buttkicker like above only using next gen console. I thought raw audio is one mode and telemetry data is other mode what he didn’t like that much. Based on your experience I strongly believe your advice about AV reciever.
how many transducers can you connect per amp?
It took my subwoofer away!?
Just started watching but im having a really frustrating problem with my OG red buttkicker, i hope someone can help.
I have it hooked up correctly and works great but i get no sound from my subwoofer. Im using a Logitech 2.1 system. It's a real bummer because i love the buttkicker but not enough to trade my sub for it
I just got mine and it just clips really really bad it’s supper loud idk what’s going on
hello, i have a question? what is the difference of buttkicker pro & Pearl ThMP-1 Throne Thumper Butt Kicker on ps5? because I have a Pearl-1 buttkicker and I want to buy the new model buttkicker pro, is that wise?
What mount do you use for this?
Good mornin...will these work on xbox X/S ??
Just got the pro version but seems hapticonnect software does not work in dirt rally 2.0 VR but does in non vr mode.
Boosted Media had one hell of a problem with them. Not sure if I should make my own system or buy a buttkicker kit.
after these months of use , do you feel it has made you faster? or just fun?
it really depends on how your brain perceives the racing experience. if you're partially deaf, like me it could be a complete game changer. if not it's just going to augment the information you're already processing on screen, which might actually boost your speeds, but I wouldn't get this because it makes YOU a better racer, I'd get it because it makes RACING a better experience.
Its a Vibe Sim! Better name ahah. I got four gamer 2 on my rig and use free sim hub for effects. It really is a must. With 4 the rig is really alive and it give so much more details because each bk is a different wheel... You fell the rig going over bumps and kerbs wheel by wheel... Definition is crazy like that. I'll probably buy a fifth to isolate engine vibrations and gear shift under my shifter post where I placed my first bk. I could feel it I all my rig + better in my shifter.
I been running 4 Buttkickers with SimVibe for about 3 years now. Seat, pedals, shifter and wheel. I’m not really a fan of SimVibe as the software is confusing and full of sh*t I’ll never use because I don’t own any SX hardware. I bought a SimHub license and wasn’t really a fan. I had some issue with some of the effects.
Anyway, what I really want from Buttkicker is a big amp that can power 4-5 of these transducers nicely that would come with a button box I can mount that has volume “dials” not buttons for each transducer.
For one I need to adjust volume depending on the time of day I race. Secondly I jump around from car to car and games/sims and the volume differences can be really big. I’m not a fan of having to load a profile for every car.
Currently I have my 4 remotes mounted to a HPP JBV heal rest on a swing arm bracket. It works but it’s not an ideal setup.
I’m definitely thinking of adding a Pro to replace my Gamer2 on my NLRV3 platform. It needs more power. I’d consider replacing all my Mini Concerts with Pros but I can’t believe they didn’t figure out a better mounting system better suited for profile simulators.
@@OhItsThat Does the pedal buttkicker help with lock up and traction loss?
@@jackryan8421 I imagine it would. I’m not using those effects though. I use rpm, shift and bumps I believe.
4 Buttkickers, one to represent each wheel, seems the most logical approach, but is it really worth it and noticeable? How many do you recommend?
Good question. Maybe 4 smaller more affordable would be better than 1 big transducer.
will butt kicker pro work with F1 2021 and 2022 for PS5?
Upgrade for the future but Im angry with Shaun making me spend more money again!
Hello Shawn Cole. Congratulations on your excellent site and videos! I am greatly interested in Buttkickers and have a lengthy but accurate commentary on how Buttkicker missed the "Torque Boat" by a mile in their Gamer Plus and Gamer Pro new product design. This has nothing whatsoever to do with your excellent video. What do I mean? Buttkicker does not now know the physics of 'torque' and goofed significantly on their new models - Gamer2 was good but new products fall short. I'm sure they work well enough but their effectiveness compared to the Gamer2 must, as physics sees it, give a lot of potential away. May I post my (near full-screen) comments here? I thought I would ask before I do so.
Having not received a response, I will not post my findings at this time. They are available upon request. Keep up the superior work!
So this bkPlus can work on consoles like xboxseriesX? I'm actually using a audio converter for my seriesX.
Really enjoyed Assetto Corsa Competizione.
I hope someone test this on both consoles XboxseriesX and Ps5 for us dying budget consoles player🙆. Thank you for your video.
PS5 works for me using the auxiliary out on my Arctis game DAC. I'm using simhub too but it only works with PC2 and F1 20xx. Game has to offload telemetry to my laptop for it to work as intended.
All buttkicker work on ps5 and Xbox series I have a Pearl ThMP-1 buttkicker on ps5 and Xbox series
Yeah sounds like the Pro would be harder to attach to my all profile P1X which seems like a miss.
it's really not that difficult to find a spot on any chair, ESPECIALLY with a clamp. lol mines drilled right into the back of my lazyboy.
is it compatible with rfactor 2?
If it works with simhub's software, yes.
Thank You for this comprehensive review. What do you think is the main difference (in functionality) between the new plus and gamer 2? I understand the haptic software also works with the gamer 2. Is it also possible to have 2 units for the front and back of the cockpit so you feel the front and rear effects separately? THANK YOU 🙏
Oh wow glad I watched, that's a huge bummer that the pro doesn't have a bolt on option.
Will a butt kicker work on Xbox or any console?
All buttkicker work on ps5 and Xbox series I have a Pearl ThMP-1 buttkicker on ps5 and Xbox series
Simhub works well .
That really sucks the clamp only goes up to 1.77" diameter. That leaves the GT Omega Titan users out in the cold.
Am I to understand that you need 4 amplifiers if you want "4 in the corners"? 5 amplifiers if you want "4 in the corners one in the seat?" Edit: Or is that not a use case? I saw one guy on YT that 4 in the corners one in the seat.
Why TF isnt this on PC?
Looks like a step backwards to me, the original buttkickers were compatable with any system, you could jsut had a buttkicker here or take one away there and the install and removal were easy. Now new software and USB and the system looks to be more propriatary and less universal to fit any sim.
Got told to replace my amp by buttkicker support. Bought one. Still doesnt work. Brilliant waste of money!!!!
I bought 4 of these and they are not wotht the time it took to place the order !!!!
simhub is free and much better than this.
donmt buy this sh@@#$t very hard setup
