In this video, we take a look at DJI Ronin 4D expansion plate. This will allow you to have XLR audio, timecode, and SDI output for a monitor. You'll get your 3.5mm port back as well.

Hey Keydrin! Appreciate the video. Have you been able to jam sync time code with the Tentacle Sync generators? My Ronin 4D won’t recognize them when I connect to the TC BNC port. Very frustrating
Thank you! Yeah once you plug it in you should see under timecode EXT on the end. Just make sure you are on the same frame rate and hit sync in the tentacle sync app and it should work. If you message me on IG i can send you pictures
@@924PHOTOGRAPHY Thanks so much for the quick response. I made sure had the correct frame rate for both when I plugged in the Tentacle Sync. I made sure the cable was working correctly as well - I plugged it in to my Blackmagic Ursa Mini 4.6 G2 and it worked find. I'll message you on IG...

Can you send different signals out of the HDMI and SDI separately? For example can you send a lut out to the HDMI, but leave the SDI in the log color?

No, it doesn’t, you have to unplug the XLR cable a few times to get it to work. I ended up just using the timecode port for my tentacle sync. I got tired of fighting with it. DJI is aware but hasn’t made a fix to my knowledge
This means you need to send unit it back these units have issues I have sent several back for various cameras unit DJI gave me working units

Dji lens set is risky to invest in. I don’t see them holding value
The expansion plate is a POS, it doesn't work. I had it working once for a few minutes then nothing. I've done everything upgraded, downgraded. DJI make it hard as F to get any response. Camera is great, expansion plate and customer service suck. DON't BUY THE EXPANSION PLATE. No wonder it took forever to release.
I completely agree! I just use it for the timecode port now
I’ve had 2 plates now that XLR ch 1 has failed. It’s garbage.
