My advice is,since i fought Lunastra with Light Bowgun (cause i know Lunastra is versatile and agile),you got to "roll" horizontally to avoid those charging attacks,WHEN you see that your position is parallel with Lunastra's leg.Why would i say this,cause Lunastra's is one of the Elder Dragon who can change his direction slightly when charging attacks towards you.Unlike big monster like Basarios or Gravios,when they locked your position and ready to charge,they can't turn directions neither slightly or greatly and just ran on the imaginary line that they already created before (based on my experience).

Tip For Newbies who are going to fight Teostra for the first time in MHFU....When Enraged...Teo's fire breath's range increases insanely...do not think that you are safe anywhere in front of him when he is enraged...i have done that mistake myself multiple times...you will always think that it won't hit cuz you are out of the range...but no...Stay safe hunters. Cool video! I got into Monster Hunter with 4 Ultimate, so I never fought Lunastra before World. She’s my favorite monster in that game (and also the one I die to the most lol), so it’s cool to see how far she’s come from apparently just being a blue Teostra in Freedom Unite. Who would have thought that one day, Teostra would be an easier version of Lunastra instead of the other way around lol? It does make me wonder though, what would World Lunastra’s blue fire abilities and double supernova look like with Freedom Unite’s graphics?
Thanks! 😄 My first game besides MHFU was MH4U as well :D Gore Magala was a cool fight and Shagaru Magala kicked my ass, but the story and NPCs helped push me through :P I used Greatsword throughout that game, and then eventually realized in MHGen how good Chargeblade was (it was too complicated for me my first time in MH4U lmao) Especially considering MH4U had a sleep chargeblade omg haha And yeah for real, luna really do kinda be tough in MHW... I think it would be so cool to see MHW mechanics in MHFU or the other way around, it'd be quite a project, so not really practical, but I think it would be so interesting :P

Something to note: at 17:20, that explosion had indeed more range than it had to, and it's due to the fact that you can be impregnated by the gunpowder and create a way for the explosion It's really dangerous in higher ranks ;-;

(I also recently had to update RUclips because RUclips didn't let me keep the old version i had anymore, and i gotta say... NEW RUclips IS WACK, although chapters are a good addition)

Hey there me again 🙂 Yeah, I use Vegas as my wideo editing softvare, it's a pretty good program, but mostly I've just gotten so used to working with it. I tried using another video editor like Adobe Premiere, but I couldn't get used to it and just figured Vegas is fine. Hope that helps :)

I'd recommend you just try to attack her tail when you're able to throughout the fight, and if you think she's getting low, try and focus on the tail until it comes off, that's what I'd do. When hunting for its horn, can it be broken by bringing a dragon element felyne comrade that will do the 1 dragon damage and the rest will be from a raw hammer?
I just did my first attempt on her, I get to stop her using the flame aura and have her rage once but at that point I chugged all my reg pots and I started chugging megas so I know I wouldn't last longer , also when attack bounce like with other bosses does it still do damage to boss?
Oof, great first attempt though! Be sure to abandon quest if you feel like you wanna try again, it'll give you the items you used back, but you'll lose any items you've picked up too. Up to you. When an attack bounces it takes twice as much sharpness from your weapon and interrupts your attack, but it will do the full amount of damage it normally would've. That being said that damage is *usually* lower since the hitzone is probably lower if you're bouncing, but yeah, no damage reduction. Good luck with your future attempts, you got this! 😄😄

Hammer works well for her horns, of course you'll need something that does cutting damage for her tail. I mean, you kinda want the terrain damage regated, you can't get that from Kirin, but you can try it, but the main reason I think to use Kirin is for more elemental damage, the hammer I'm using in the video is raw, so, it'd be good to use dragon element though.
Why people use complete armor of an specific style? I use khezu boots, genprey body/arms, and and a blue hat, my defense is around 150, and i have almost 10 point in all elements, isn't correct that way?
The main importance of using specific armor, is what skills it gives you. The more you use different parts the more different types of skills it will give you points in, but may not actually activate them. There's nothing wrong with having a bunch of defense and elemental resistances if that's what you want, and I always try to get a high defense as well, but I always choose the armor that I do because it has the skills that I want, you can see the specifics of my equipment at the beginning of the video. In this fight in particular I wanted "TerrainDamageNegate" to negate Lunastra's fire aura chip damage, and "Earplug" to negate her roar. I chose the garuga pieces (and earplug jewels) because they added to the earplug skill, and I chose the Kushala pieces (and the anti-thaw/melt proof jewels) because it gave the terrain damage resistance. You need at least 10 skill points to activate a skill, you can see at 0:07 on the left side "[Activate Skill]" what skills are actually activated. I'd say take a look at your armor skills, in the status part of your pause menu, and see if any skills are activated at all. While it's not necessary, I suppose, many armor skills are pretty nice and it's a key part of the game. I'd have covered armor skills already but I'm not able to do it in a way that I'd prefer right now, unfortunately.
That's not what I mean, your defense and elemental resistances are separate from armor skills. There are some armor skills that can add to your defense and elemental resistances, but every piece of armor has a non zero defense value, (you actually have 1 armor with nothing equipped I think) and every piece of armor has either a negative, zero, or positive value for elemental resistances.

I haven't noticed it not being accurate, though there are some mechanics like how monsters can't be flinched during some animations for example that may mess with things. Lots of moving parts, it works well enough for me, for sure.

Do you mean, like, your max stamina? Your max stamina will decrease in chunks as the hunt goes on, you need to refill it by eating rations or well done steaks etc. It will also decrease MUCH faster if you're in a cold environment.
Well, fortunately, Lunastra is completely optional in this game. You can always come back later if you'd like 😅 I almost never hunt the elder dragons in this game if I can help it tbh lol Except Kushala I guess. Chameleos is ok too.

Shen Gaoren is a required hunt to progress through the game, the only requirement to hunt it is to do the key quests that unlock it, since it's an urgent quest. Yeah, it's not easy :( Just stick with it! If you can manage to repel it, just keep at it, you can take them out eventually, and you'll get better at the fight and get better equipment. You can do it!! 😄
Terrain damage is most notably the damage taken from being too close to lava in the volcano map, and lunastra's and teostra's fire aura. Notably, if you are standing close to lava AND in Luna's/Teo's fire aura, you'll still take damage. But otherwise it's very useful when fighting either of them. There are four levels to the Terrain skill: -15: Terrain Damage Increased (high) -10: Terrain Damage increased (low) 10: Terrain Damage reduced 15: Terrain Damage negated

fought lunastra, did repel (pretty hard fight) i got no elder dragon bones from her :sob: i resorted to save and load from PPSSPP to get elder dragon bones from jungle veggie elder from trenyas forest and hills expedition drops
Man old mh rely too much in bullshit hitboxes and monsters spamming moves even not enraged, I struggled to get even my first tigrex (because I'm a morom who forced himself to Leith only LS) I don't know why they made close quarters punishing in boss monsters. Then I annihilated mh portable third and killed the zinogre on the introduction mission. Andd now MH world is a joke with food and buffs up the ass.

Yeah, I use Vegas as my wideo editing softvare, it's a pretty good program, but mostly I've just gotten so used to working with it. I tried using another video editor like Adobe Premiere, but I couldn't get used to it and just figured Vegas is fine.

Uh, well, not really tbh. I'd recommend you just try to attack her tail when you're able to throughout the fight, and if you think she's getting low, try and focus on the tail until it comes off, that's what I'd do. Try and do it in multiplayer if you can, that may make it less annoying lol

I believe so, yes. That can be a little inconsistent but it should work. I think. lol
I just did my first attempt on her, I get to stop her using the flame aura and have her rage once but at that point I chugged all my reg pots and I started chugging megas so I know I wouldn't last longer , also when attack bounce like with other bosses does it still do damage to boss?
Oof, great first attempt though! Be sure to abandon quest if you feel like you wanna try again, it'll give you the items you used back, but you'll lose any items you've picked up too. Up to you.
When an attack bounces it takes twice as much sharpness from your weapon and interrupts your attack, but it will do the full amount of damage it normally would've. That being said that damage is *usually* lower since the hitzone is probably lower if you're bouncing, but yeah, no damage reduction.

Yeah they sure did. Some fights in the newer games are way harder than the older ones, though people like to imply the new games are easy and the old ones are harder, and that the difficulty makes them better lol

Hammer works well for her horns, of course you'll need something that does cutting damage for her tail.

Is it suitable for me to use the kirin set? Because I have a little problem with kushala.
I mean, you kinda want the terrain damage regated, you can't get that from Kirin, but you can try it, but the main reason I think to use Kirin is for more elemental damage, the hammer I'm using in the video is raw, so, it'd be good to use dragon element though.
Why people use complete armor of an specific style? I use khezu boots, genprey body/arms, and and a blue hat, my defense is around 150, and i have almost 10 point in all elements, isn't correct that way?
The main importance of using specific armor, is what skills it gives you. The more you use different parts the more different types of skills it will give you points in, but may not actually activate them. There's nothing wrong with having a bunch of defense and elemental resistances if that's what you want, and I always try to get a high defense as well, but I always choose the armor that I do because it has the skills that I want, you can see the specifics of my equipment at the beginning of the video.
In this fight in particular I wanted "TerrainDamageNegate" to negate Lunastra's fire aura chip damage, and "Earplug" to negate her roar. I chose the garuga pieces (and earplug jewels) because they added to the earplug skill, and I chose the Kushala pieces (and the anti-thaw/melt proof jewels) because it gave the terrain damage resistance. You need at least 10 skill points to activate a skill, you can see at 0:07 on the left side "[Activate Skill]" what skills are actually activated.
I'd say take a look at your armor skills, in the status part of your pause menu, and see if any skills are activated at all. While it's not necessary, I suppose, many armor skills are pretty nice and it's a key part of the game. I'd have covered armor skills already but I'm not able to do it in a way that I'd prefer right now, unfortunately.
My lighting element is at 10 but i haven't activated nothing :|
That's not what I mean, your defense and elemental resistances are separate from armor skills.
There are some armor skills that can add to your defense and elemental resistances, but every piece of armor has a non zero defense value, (you actually have 1 armor with nothing equipped I think) and every piece of armor has either a negative, zero, or positive value for elemental resistances.
Oh i saw it, so doesn't matter if i have 10 points in all skills at the status, i still will have trouble if i'm not having 10 in the second status page right?

how valid is the damage calculator?
I haven't noticed it not being accurate, though there are some mechanics like how monsters can't be flinched during some animations for example that may mess with things. Lots of moving parts, it works well enough for me, for sure.
@@HeadHunter455 i ask cuz diablos lance can stagger tigga with 5 hits and kirin lance always needs 6.and according to my skills and the calculator, even with critical, diablos lance shouldnt surpass kirin lance with element attack up. Im talking G rank. Maybe im missing something

Do you mean, like, your max stamina?
Your max stamina will decrease in chunks as the hunt goes on, you need to refill it by eating rations or well done steaks etc. It will also decrease MUCH faster if you're in a cold environment.

Nope, Lunastra has the Empress armor and Teostra has the Kaiser armor, they also have their own weapons.

Lunastra has extremely low hitzones for thunder damage. Devil Slicer probably wouldn't be worth it.

Shen Gaoren is a required hunt to progress through the game, the only requirement to hunt it is to do the key quests that unlock it, since it's an urgent quest. All Urgent Quests are unlocked after completing the Key Quests of each tier of quests in the game.

Terrain damage is most notably the damage taken from being too close to lava in the volcano map, and lunastra's and teostra's fire aura. Notably, if you are standing close to lava AND in Luna's/Teo's fire aura, you'll still take damage. But otherwise it's very useful when fighting either of them.
There are four levels to the Terrain skill:
-15: Terrain Damage Increased (high)
-10: Terrain Damage increased (low)
10: Terrain Damage reduced
15: Terrain Damage negated

Man old mh rely too much in bullshit hitboxes and monsters spamming moves even not enraged, I struggled to get even my first tigrex (because I'm a morom who forced himself to Leith only LS) I don't know why they made close quarters punishing in boss monsters.
Then I annihilated mh portable third and killed the zinogre on the introduction mission.
Andd now MH world is a joke with food and buffs up the ass.
