Keys to warm up (According to the video) 1- Get blood flowing to the muscles 2- Do not put alot of pressure on joints 3- Do not *passively* stretch (not recommended) 4-Start with easy exercises
Excellent advice letting viewers to workout - not only does warming up help prevent injuries but I found that it really enhances the workout. Keep up the great work!
I like your advice Paul. I've had similar experiences like yours. I was hanging out with some people and hadn't done anything for about two days, no warm up or anything, and I got down on the ground and started walking on my hands, stopped and held a handstand, and when I hopped off of my right arm the shoulder muscle twisted and the joint popped and any kind of handstand variation was a big no for about four days.
Your videos are more than helpful to me, I want to thank you for your tutorials. Help motivate me, and I also do bodyweight workouts. They are better to me, as they are to you. Again, Thanks!
Biceps exercises. I know you did this before, but please could you do a in depth tutorial(with long and shirt biceps-head, peak development, brachialis muscle, the difference between basic pull ups and pull ups with the bar behind the head and so on...)
Rest it dude, i had a similar pain in my right chest if i squeezed or tensed the muscle, it really nipped! I continued working out and it got worse over the weeks. I stopped all upper body exercise for a week and it sorted itself out. Working it while its sore will only make it worse.
Pavel, first of all thanks for all your ur amazing video tutorials, it is realy good to watch ur videos and I am learning a lot of things I never imagined I could with 45 years old and 187lbs. It has been 4 moths I am training calesthenics and I did my first 360 u can not imagine how happy I was. The point is, I always go to my workout riding my bike, from my home to the place I do my workout is about 9mi, I think I do not need anymore warm up, do I? Streching u recommend after the workout?
Hey Paul, you should try a 100 pull up, 200 push up challenge. Do pull ups and when you get tired drop down and do push ups and when you get tired again do more pull ups, then push ups, until you hit 100 and 200. I watched one guy do it, it took him about 5 minutes. It seems like it would be a crazy workout.
Hi Paul, I think your vids are the best. Accidentally I was starting to do what you do, in the park close to my place. I lost 30 pounds after breaking up with my gf and I couldnt get them back, then I started to do pull ups and push ups, and then I saw your vids and I started to gain weight and muscles for real. Now I'm almost back to my weight but this time with muscles. I have a request, could you please upload a vid for butt exercises and Im not joking, Im serious, would you please? thx a lot
Shoulder injuries are the most common workout injuries I think, and I wouldn't recommend for you to do pull ups behind your back. Unless your shoulders are extremely flexible, this could cause "increase your risk for shoulder impingement syndrome-a painful condition in which the muscles or tendons of your rotator cuff become entrapped in your shoulder joint."
Mi ingles no es bueno. No pude entender mucho, pero lo pocp que pude entender, me parecio super bien. Felicitaciones por esa dedicacion. Saludos desde colombia. Miles de bendiciones y abrazo grande en jesus. Bye bye.
That sounds like a very high intensity cardio workout. The strength needed to pull off that challenge wouldn't be very high. Doing slow push ups (down for 5, hold for 5, up for 5 for example) and/or push ups with that number of reps would be a feat.
im 15 5'7-5'8 ish, im kinda over weight, better to skinny than over weight. tips: not sure if this will help but try to add alot more protein into ur diet and LIFT WEIGHTS, u dont have to but its the easiest way to build muscle fast ( for me anyway becasue i didnt have any msucle on my chest i was flabby) start of with low weight high reps. hope this helped :)
Since you hurt your shoulder can you show some rehabilitation to recover joints? I have a post injury on my shoulder, it is starting to hurt more since i am getting more advance and harder workouts.
Do anything you can to cut down body fat. Sprinting, jogging, punching mits, swimming, etc. Along with that, you want to pair it up with a decent enough diet so that work does not go to waste.
So the key to proper warm-ups is the uses of ones ceil phone. Oh, I've had it all wrong. I been leaving mine at home, silly me. Thanks for another great tip. And God, bless you to. ;)
i'm just asking may people said you must stretch before your workout to open the muscle fibers and you can be easy to go throw the full range of motion
Well the motion he was doing in the video was more of a crunching one imo, if you go all the way up the difference would be that sit ups involve your hips more, I think.
Hey Paul, have you ever had any negative experiences where someone has tried to kick you off the playground for being too old? I'm only 17 and I've recently started doing bodyweight exercises so when I went to chinups at the park today (I was the only one there) a crazy old guy screamed at me to get off. I'm not sure whether this is typical for someone of my age or whether I just came across someone who was mentally ill. I won't be coming back to that same park again.
I work as a newsdelivery guy every night and I workout Monday, Wednesday and Friday about an hour after I get home from work. When I get home I'm well pumped up and warmed up, since I bicycle and use my legs and body all the time when working do I need to warmup still?
Hey Fortress, i work out every day since 5 months every day straight! i do on the first day upper body, second core/lower back, third upper body, fourth legs and then repeat. I dont have muscle soreness after one day anymore. Is this ok, or should i take a day break, after the fourth workout?
From working as a merchandiser for Pepsi, I have got a sore elbow joint,on my left arm at the bone on each side of the arm. Is there any exercise I can do to help strengthen this area and prevent it from hurting so much?
¿Por qué no usas el traductor de subtítulos? es una buena opción, podrías tener una comprensión mucho mayor, merece la pena hacerlo! Saludos y bendiciones tb para tí! ;)
Ye something like that happened to me, i didnt warmup correctly, i did pushups and thought it was enough warmup, then started lifting really low weight with my biceps and the next day i got injured too and couldnt even use my forearms
yeah some people are crazy man, don't argue with them. Just come back to that park if it's closest to you and keep working out, don't worry about that kinda stuff. Someone screaming at you to get off a playground bc you're too old is NOT typical at all.
i got weight 99kg..i was 70 kg 4 years ago..now i want to get serious to reduce my weight..can i do that in 1 month?and of course i don't have stamina like i was in 70 kg. please give me tips. thank you
Agree, last week i went to the park on a cold rainy day & didn't warm up.. straight away i went into doing the typewriter &.. you guessed it right. Sprained my wrist and now im still injured.. :(
Fortress i need to know if warming up has to be done whilst doing pavel's 'greasing the groove' method? Basically doing a set of pullups a few times during the day.
@fortress i have a question... i ride my bicycle 3 miles to the park with pull up bars to work out and i work out for about 45 mins to an hour then ride back, is it still important to warm up properly before workouts?
Don't listen to any meatheads telling you to lift weights. Your body is still growing, you're only 15, be patient. There's still plenty of time for growth spurts. Concentrate on bodyweight workouts and cardiovascular exercise to keep fit. Eat clean and healthy, if you want to bulk up you can do so without lifting heavy weights. Don't start heavy weight training til you're about 17 or 18 at least.
bro dont worry so much.. youre still young so your body might not be able to get big.. trust me when i was 15-18 i tried working out a lot but just couldnt really get bigger at all. now im almost 19 and i am definitely seeing results. it is how your body grows..so just do some workouts dont go all crazy.. pullups pushups etc. it takes time
Wow. You must have been quite cold to break as much as you did. I can understand the shoulder muscle pull but not the abdominal muscle pull. I warm up riding my bike to the gym each morning and that helps a lot.
He is a Russian-born guy now living in California. He specializes in body-weight only workouts. He is a Christian who also seeks to help people get body, mind and soul in shape. He's a good guy. I think he could benefit from using weights but his goal is not so much to be very muscular or even have lower body fat but be generally in good shape without the need to use weights. That's what I've come to understand.

This is one of the best channel I've ever watched! Thank you Paul! Continue to do this! Hi from Russia,Sochi! Especially big thanks for subs
There is just so many videos i want to see from Fortress!!! I just dont know where to begin!

Yes
The mobile-pull ups are great!
Always innovating! I like!

Can you do a video on stretching exercises you do AFTER your workout?
god bless you sir, iam happy that i found your channel and watched your videos
Your videos are more than helpful to me, I want to thank you for your tutorials. Help motivate me, and I also do bodyweight workouts. They are better to me, as they are to you. Again, Thanks!
thankx bro !! everyday i'm growing !! learning !! great video

Thanks for posting. I used to spend more time stretching and doing yoga thank working out. Some days I spent over an hour stretching and doing yoga.

Thanks for the tips Paul. Warming up is an area I should do better in. God Bless
And I was doing the arm circles as you taught in the past. Hehe. Well, they work for me.
Toward the end you were doing crunches on the bench and not as mentioned sit ups. Great video.

Thanks 4 the information ;) keep changing people's lives and i liked the modified pullups.
Nice ;) Basic stuff that many people have to know and learn cause I see soo many of them starting to workout cold .
Great advice...only hope everybody listens!
Thank you Fortress

Hey man thanks for all videos, can you do one video about stretch marks???
im 15 5'7-5'8 ish, im kinda over weight, better to skinny than over weight. tips: not sure if this will help but try to add alot more protein into ur diet and LIFT WEIGHTS, u dont have to but its the easiest way to build muscle fast ( for me anyway becasue i didnt have any msucle on my chest i was flabby) start of with low weight high reps. hope this helped :)
Please, talk about healing muscle and nerve injuries. Thank you!
Since you hurt your shoulder can you show some rehabilitation to recover joints? I have a post injury on my shoulder, it is starting to hurt more since i am getting more advance and harder workouts.
People may have submitted money to him directly instead of using the "donate" feature. The donate feature takes a little bit out.
can you upload a video about warming up biceps, triceps and forearm.
This guy is the best!
Could you do a video on a couple of good forearm exercises?
Hehehe, warm-up like this would be actually most of my daily workout right now:D But I am just at the beginning, thanks for cool video:)

Are you going to do a full workout video while in shape? Cause in the other one you said you werent in shape or something. Good video btw.
very good remembering man, thank's you for everything
thank you . please could you give us sides exercises and legs . ??!
It's a subjective judgement. I don't know which is best...
can you please help with a good chest routine to build up to 100 push ups or a leg routine with calf, hamstring, quads
Do circuit training. First upper body then lower body then sprints and repeat.
i'm just asking may people said you must stretch before your workout to open the muscle fibers and you can be easy to go throw the full range of motion
Paul, could u show few videos on chest variations. My left pec is smaller than my right pec, how can I make them even???
set a weight and repetion score with left and do the same with right (not more)
id like to kno a workout routine throughout a week tht i can do for like a long period of time.
Paul! We need another video!
Can you make a video for the lower back or just the back
Well the motion he was doing in the video was more of a crunching one imo, if you go all the way up the difference would be that sit ups involve your hips more, I think.

Thanks for the tips, warming up isn't my strongest field yet.
i liked this new intro.
You do muscles up as a warm up. And you just brush that off. Wow! Respect man
i never made warm up since a half year and i never had problems :-)

I follow you, but i don't know, how to learn one-hand push ups! Could you help me pls? Thank you! :)
jumping ropes is a good way of warming up too!!
Do you just do simple air squats for legs?
bro dont worry so much.. youre still young so your body might not be able to get big.. trust me when i was 15-18 i tried working out a lot but just couldnt really get bigger at all. now im almost 19 and i am definitely seeing results. it is how your body grows..so just do some workouts dont go all crazy.. pullups pushups etc. it takes time
See him now
no
you will do it, and you will want to do more, then it becomes challenging!
i do warm up with Resistance Bands.
ty man, i just need some warm up routine :)
Wow. You must have been quite cold to break as much as you did. I can understand the shoulder muscle pull but not the abdominal muscle pull. I warm up riding my bike to the gym each morning and that helps a lot.
