Grew up fishing the Umpqua with my grandparents. Gramps used to guide down there. They are still living in Reedsport. My biggest Springer came from that river 42lbs
Lol I was so hoping she landed that fish! Congratulations! I caught the biggest springer of my life on that river, 30 on the dot. Just upstream a bit the river hits a bank and turns right and we used to troll that in fall. We used to also spot schools of silvers and throw spinners at them and they were pure chrome. One of my favorite of all time rivers.
@@FishingTheOdds it was, pouring rain, only had like 10 inches of visibility. I caught it on a spinner and my buddy took one picture in the pouring rain with an instant camera. I was in the drift boat and it’s a very cool photo.
We had a Buoy 10 trip first two days I used spinners and it was a struggle. Pro-Troll and spinners and Spin Fish not producing. Third day I decided to use Anchovy and KoneZone flasher with Moon Jelly and green. We hooked a number of fish.
Some years ago a friend we fished with had us jig Anchovy at Buoy 10 and put them in a bag of Kocher Salt. We later used them with the Kriplure helmets with the red peg. He also have Mylar skirts on he leader that went over the Anchovy. He said the Coho like the extra flash. We limited four people with three Chinook and five Coho. I have used that setup ever since.
i grew up in coos bay hoping to make a trip out that way for steelhead this year there is 3 systems down there i want to fish just good childhood memory spots ive fished for trout as a kid but never steelhead so time to make some new memories :)
@@FishingTheOdds thanks man never fished those systems in the winter just spring and summer so it will be a totally different way of looking at the rivers but should be fun it's where my love of fishing first started

Just started watching and rod holder stays attached while lifting the rod out. What’s up with that?
Well idk the locking mechanism failed party because Brandon didn’t lift the front of first I’m assuming
hell ya
Where did you get those pliers?

😅way to grind
100% baby sometimes that’s what it takes
You're required to having descending gear onboard
We had a homemade one and worked well!
I guess so much for no river names....
