    Thanks for the Hat at the sportsman show. Glad to buy one off ya and support what your about. My wife Lori and I enjoy coming home and watching your show and short video's to see what and where were going to fish for the Columbia. Even though we have are own boat it still would be great to go out with ya sometime and worry about nothing but reeling the fish in.

    Love seeing Bill on the river, been many years since I was in a multi-boat float and Herzog was in one of the boats with Cronen, great times

    Great video guys!! What size MagLips do you recommend for Winter Steel....3 or 3.5?

    • @DayOneOutdoors
      @DayOneOutdoors  Год назад +1

      Thanks so much! I like to use the 3.0 in low clear water and the 3.5 in higher dirtier flows! Both work!

    Good video. Is the ratio of hatchery to wild down in the area of 1 out of 20-25 ?

    • @DayOneOutdoors
      @DayOneOutdoors  9 месяцев назад

      on the North Umpqua yes, but the south has a higher percentage of hatchery fish!

    How far behind the boat do you put the plugs when back trolling?

    • @DayOneOutdoors
      @DayOneOutdoors  Год назад

      it depends on the hole and what we are trying to accomplish. We actually have a COMPLETE guide to backtrolling on our channel! Here it is: ruclips.net/video/5IlmFT9_LWw/видео.html

    We had the same issue last weekend on the Oregon coast, we had to give bobber downs a hard toe count then reel and lift, our hook sets increased 150% after that, missed 4 fish the first hour then we started letting them eat it we landed 9 in two hours.

    Your title should say North Umpqua. Where you are fishing is NOT considered the Umpqua. The Umpqua refers to the river after the South Umpqua and North Umpqua merge at River Forks Park.

    • @DayOneOutdoors
      @DayOneOutdoors  Год назад +2

      Maybe the title should be "South Umpqua" then, since that is where we were. ;) Just trying to indicate a broader region as the techniques work on both the South, North and Main sections of the Umpqua drainage.

      @@DayOneOutdoors You are right, they are on the South Umpqua river, I know exactly where they put in and started their drift.
