It is obvious how much Vanessa loves Kobe to this day. She seems very focused on raising her girls and preserving his memory.
I still get chills that he died with his daughter. He obviously had a great life but its so sad for him gianna and his other girls 💔

I admire Vanessa’s determination, resilience & strength. She is fiercely protecting Kobe & Ginanna’s dignity in death. She’s also protecting his legacy & keeping it alive. I can’t imagine how she copes with the oppressing grief, but pushes through it & is an excellent, present mother to her 3 girls.
I don't use this word lightly, or often, but Vanessa is a "queen" in her dignity and bearing. She understands the bigger picture and how her behavior impacts those watching her. That is queen like behavior.

Wow Kobe’s family gave him a great start in life. What a beautiful place to grow up as a child. It’s devastating that he is no longer here with his family.
My prayers to his Mother and Father as well. They raised him and his father helped him to be who he is today as a former NBA star. It would have been nice to meet up with his parents as well. They could have shared some memories with them. Allow the kids to interact with his family and two beautiful sisters.

In an interview with him, he also got interested in soccer while living in Italy. He was following the famous Dutch three players, Gullit, Rijkaard and van Basten. He was following AC Milan, one of the best teams together with the dream team of Barcelona. I also saw him in a studio session following the World Championship soccer in Brazil in 2014. What a tragedy..😢 but an impressive athlete.

She sadly goes to where Kobe once was. Seeking comfort I guess 🤷♀. If the public greatly misses him, it's beyond imaginable how much Vanessa misses Kobe. And of course, she misses her child too. When I think about myself being in Vanessa's shoes, I cringe. And please!!! Don't anyone come talking about, "all that money she has"? Money can not compensate for her pain. I feel sad for her and the oldest daughter. But God has his way and I am loyal to him, anyway.

It’s too bad Kobe’s parents are not included in the trip to Italy so they can actually talk to their granddaughters about what their dad’s life was like living in Italy. Wish this family could bury the hatchet and come together for the sake of all the children.
If they never got on and still don't get on, it's highly unlikely they will. If their daughter knows they don't get on and she has no ties to them, she'll choose her mother's side because there's no emotional bond. If everyone is okay with how things are, other people should be too
Sad part is Kobe was really trying to mend things with his parents but you can tell Vanessa didn't want that and is not even trying to follow what Kobe was trying to do

His relationship with his parents has been strained for many reasons. They disapproved of Vanessa when she was a child (17), Kobe (21) -he rebelled and that's when news of a strained relationship started. Thru the years his parents and sisters apparently took advantage of his fame/resources for financial gain on several occassions, some of which he fought them legally. It's rumored he may have tried to reconcile with his father before death. But it's also rumored his parents didnt like Vanessa at 17 because they both were either too young or Vanessa was hispanic or both reasons. Many articles online speak on this. If they truly dont like her because of her ethnicity who's to say they ever fully accepted their bicultural grandchildren?

@@emmedoppiavu All good point's and exactly what I heard too. Unfortunately, it does seem like most parent's are just never happy with a son or daughter's choice of marriage. My Mom was unhappy that I married a Latina and sadly she never got to meet her. It's her loss. In the end though, it's ultimately your choice on who to marry. Sometimes Mom and Dad need to step aside.

I just posted this on another comment but it seems as though Kobe's parents opposed her from childhood. Not for being vile. "Not much is known about the relationship Kobe shared with his parents before his career took off, but one can only presume that it was relatively content. What caused the rift was Kobe’s decision to get engaged to Vanessa Laine when he was merely 21. Vanessa was a seventeen-year-old high school student at the time and had been trying her luck at music videos.
Kobe’s parents, Pam and Joe, were not pleased with Kobe’s decision to get engaged at such a young age. They wanted him to focus on his career and live his life before settling down with a girl. Another theory as to why Kobe’s parents disapproved of Vanessa is because she wasn’t African-American - she was of Hispanic heritage. " *IF* race/ethnicity is the real issue here then his parents may have wanted to reconcile with him but would have probably never reconciled with Vanessa nor fully accept their biracial/bicultural grandchildren. It's an ugly thing to consider but that's how some parents/grandparents are. May Kobe continue to rest in peace
