ACDelco Gold 48AGM 36 Month Warranty AGM BCI Group 48 Battery, Black - amzn.to/3hNhrpF
    Battery Protectant spray - amzn.to/3vnc9UF
    10 MM Socket - amzn.to/3I1P41r

This video addresses the procedure to replace the H6 AGM Group Size 48 vehicle battery for the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox LT 1.5L. The new battery is 760 CCA, Cold Cranking Amps. I am using Duralast Platinum AGM Battery H6-AGM Group Size 48 760 CCA for my replacement battery.
AGM stands for Absorbed Glass Mat.
In this video I show how to replace the vehicle battery proactively. I saw at stop signs and lights, the auto stop/start feature was throwing a ton of dash panel lights and messages when the vehicle was powered back on. These included messages about the parking brake, traction control, and to service brake assist. This seems common from other comments on my channel and online forums. Replacing the vehicle battery resolved this behavior.
All steps can be performed using standard hand tools.
I have included Amazon Affiliate links below to make it easier to search and purchase some of the tools needed to complete the service.

I believe manufactures make it difficult on purpose. I have a 2020 Equinox and this video is the best video explaining the process. I went to the auto parts store to buy the new battery and the clerk told me that they are not allowed to install the battery.

I just wanted to say thank you so much!!! Of all things my Equinox has started doing the weird auto stop sequence of messages talking about traction control and the emergency brake being released every time the car comes to a stop and auto starts back up.
Finally woke up this morning and got a click click click and no start. I’ve replaced batteries in so many of my older vehicles, but every time I’ve popped the hood on my equinox the whole electrical system over the battery etc looked so convoluted and complicated. You made it so simple!!! Step by step from beginning to end so clear and simple and no fluff.
Thank you so much!! If you can believe it, my battery was the factory dealer battery and I got 110,000 miles and just shy of five years on it. I was shocked. 😂

Great video thank you! Thank you for warning about the connector in the back. I found that when I pulled the red tab straight out as you suggested the entire connector came off the connector's little clip mount on the back. With the connector off the mount I found it easier to depress the black tab on the connector after releasing the red safety lock tab. If you examine the clip on the back you can see that you can lift and pull up but you need to be very gentle as it will break as you noted. Thanks again! Also a memory saver helped so I didn't have to reprogram the computer.

After my mechanic told me I needed a new battery I decided to do it myself. The following day my check engine light came on for two days. My symptoms were the remote start didn’t work and the engine start-stop didn’t work either. I followed the video step by step and got the job done. Both functions came back after new battery was installed. Thanks again.

I’ll add my gratitude to that already expressed. I don’t dare wonder what the dealership would have charged to do that on a holiday weekend (although I know what they would have overcharged just for the battery, no pun intended). Thank you for a great, step-by-step video, especially with the wire clip (hate those- they are just made to break), and the component box on top and how to remove it. I did so the “that’s not going anywhere” jiggle of the metal battery holder, but will confess to not washing the plastic battery box before reinstalling it. And the car still started! Thanks again for a great video. Cheers!

I’ve did this many times no issues. Well today on the information display I believe it said “ battery low start vehicle” something along those lines.
I presume this is the time to replace the battery before it fails completely?
    Thanks for your time.

3-5 years is the lifespan span of a typical battery. You can take the vehicle to an auto parts store and have them test it for free if you’d like, but you’re likely due. Good luck!
