Gaming mice have come a long way, and the next big innovations seem to be magnesium bodies and adjustable sensor positions. Pwnage is here with their new Stormbreaker mouse that has both a metal body and a moveable sensor all wrapped up in a sharp-looking design. Will David be impressed? Let's find out.

EDIT Aug 15: We watched through all the raw footage from this shoot and it does appear that the protective plastic film WAS indeed still on the feet when David gave his initial impressions of the glide feel. We retried it after the fact and their PTFE feet do glide nicely (similar to a G Pro X Superlight with the extra PTFE cover installed in very rudimentary side by side testing). We've cut out the section of video regarding the glide issues as to not misrepresent the mouse.
*We deeply regret allowing this error to happen, and will be implementing process changes so similar issues are avoided in the future. Importantly, we apologize to for getting it wrong in the video, and we apologize for how we handled the communications that followed. We made mistakes during the investigation of the issue, and even made mistakes in our previous pinned comment. The video will remain up since the glide feel was not a significant contributor to David's conclusion about the mouse, but that shouldn't be taken as an indication that we're complacent. We will do better next time.*
Finally - and this doesn't reduce any culpability on our part - we do believe users of this product would benefit from the skate film being more visible so no customers make the same mistake as us.
Here's a photo of what the Pwnage Stormbreaker looks like with the plastic still on the feet: imgur.com/a/k0o5wSH
And a Logitech G Pro X Superlight with full cover plastic on the entire bottom of the mouse: imgur.com/a/MV22k8A
Thank you for your grace while we improve.

Quantity over quality. It really shows how little effort you put into these videos.
Not just that it's shameless that after the mistakes are pointed out they leave the video up, harming the reputation of the company they are reviewing because they don't want to hurt their video metrics, actual sellouts with no integrity, what happened to LTT ?
that's was not even a review - I am so disappointed....
@@cnnr5790 that's the worst part. they're doubling down instead of taking down their erroneous videos. Just cutting out portions like it never happened

the entire point of this shortcircuit channel is quantity over quality. the person "unboxing" the product giving a recommendation when theyve only used the product for an hour. Comical and it leads to errors like these
It’s the company’s fault that they didn’t tell you to take the protective plastic off?
“Hey guys, my new phone sucks. It’s in this cardboard box and no one told me to open it!”
Thanks to Gamer Nexus, now , going forward I really have to take what comes out of LMG with a HUGE fucking grain of salt.
Same here bro
Same, I used to trust LMG.. but the GamersNexus video really changed my mind about the entirety of LMG. Funny enough I was planning on buying a few things from the LTT store but now I'm considering unsubscribing permanently and never giving LMG a chance again.
That's what you get pumping out 10 videos a day on 3 different channels.
Same, saw comments about the protective film and them defending it.... it just Hit me lol.
By the time I got to that part of the video, I was already hugely disappointed. The fact that this mouse review is still up, and not completely redone cemented my disappointment. I don't think I'll be watching anything related to LMG for a while, possibly ever. They had/have a responsibility and they fucked it.
Pro Tip: Take ur time and check whether there's any film on the feet before reviewing it 😉
Don't you know that costs hundreds of dollars, even up to $500! They don't have time for that, they have another 25 videos to pump out!

Did he remove the protective film from the feet? They did use super clear film so it was hard to notice
Excellent attention to detail :P
To be fair, they completely went "hmm let's use the least noticeable protective film possible"
idk why companies do this. just use a non clear one on individual feet or the zowie route which is a film covering the whole bottom

That comment aged really well 😂
I preordered the blue version. Love it. Where he says the mice feet are not smooth, be aware there is plastic on the mic feet but it is very hard to notice. They do need to be removed. For whatever reason they did this instead of a full piece of plastic wrap on the bottom.
pretty common for bands to do it. I prefer when they use like blue or red for the film. I personally never understood the full bottom of the mouse film, like whats it really doing.
I caught some friends having not removed film from various mice as well. Missed some one some replacement feet myself. Thinnest plastic I'd ever seen!

The pad thing is a big mess up. I am the type of person that would spend that kind of money on a mouse and I was looking for a new mouse when I saw this video for the first time. The mention of poor pad performance kept me from buying it. I can't believe LMG forgot to take off the pad protection, regardless of the manufacturer not including a pull tab. I made that mistake once, then I stopped for 2 seconds to check for pad protection, and I found it. That company lost my sale to LMGs error. Sorry Pwnage. Funny enough, I've never relied on LTT for actual tech reviews when I'm looking for specific pieces of tech. Like for my Razer mouse I looked up hundreds of non LTT videos and reviews because I know they have a certain disliking of Razer and will put it down any chance they get. And so far, 2 years later, my mouse is still going stronger than any mouse they recommend
As someone who owns both the Pwnage Stormbreaker and the Logitech G Pro X Superlight: The Stormbreaker glides easier and is easier to hold in hand when the grip tape is applied. Without the grip tape, I used more grip strength than I wanted to hold the mouse because the magnesium is so slippery - this being regardless of the holes or if they'd done with a smooth design.
Also, in the month I've been using it, the grip tape has become less sticky, but shows no indication of becoming gunky. So far, at least.
LTT lies once again.
did he actually use the mouse at all ??
Most, if not all premium mice come with a protective film on the feet. The fact that this professional mouse reviewer didn't even check for them is appalling.

Thanks to a proper reviewer like GamersNexus, I know this is actually a mouse worth buying!
I literally discounted the mouse after I saw the review initially. Clearly I have been putting too much stock into what one channel has been saying.
Imagine how many videos got wrong data and wrong kind of reviews?
Wonder if this reviewer leaves the protective film on his cpu cooler and then wonder why its overheating kind of guy?
When its glide is the thing the mouse was marketed for, how can you not check the mouse feet when the glide is suspiciously bad?
Imagine being a tech-specific company and not checking if there was a film on the feet. Every mouse I've gotten has had a film with no pull tabs on it but it says in the instructions that there is a film that must be removed before use.
Please consider having a company-wide training module on how to find the instruction booklets and how to read them.
Next time try use the mouse inside the box
Been maining this for a month straight with a dozen other top end mice. IMO this mouse fits a specific niche (if you want a DAv3 but smaller and lighter, but something higher quality than Pulsar Xlite), but if you're in that niche this is literally your endgame.

Until today I had a really really good impression about LTT over all, but since I watched Gamer Nexus Latest Video about LTT... watching this to confirm the claims done in that video... more precisely about the protective film that is so clearly present and reflective - between minute 2:59 to 3:01 I am feeling a little betrayed and pissed for the trust given. I thought that LTT was 110% legit. Now I am not so sure anymore. I guess that Money Talks! Good thing that at least this "reviewer" (if we can call him that) didn't missed the box and actually removed the mouse from inside it! How would this review looked like if they would have said... this mouse is not working at all... we can not see any cables, the shape is wrong or how to plug this mouse into a USB port, while trying to click through or use the the box as a mouse. :)) I wouldn't have posted this here if this would have been the only video/review that LTT got wrong. If a reportedly low friction mouse suddenly has a lot of friction, check the skates before calling it defective or broken. Even if it's not obvious, CHECK.
There's your tech tip for the day.
To me, LMG is an entertainment company 1st and review channel second. It's always best to look up other reviewers opinions on products (rtings etc) before buying them. If simple mistakes like this are happening with a mouse review, why should people trust your lab test results, who's to say the same mistakes aren't happening in lab tests🤔
Exactly. If they want to be more review-oriented, spend time triple-checking the products. That way Pwnage can constructively be called out on giving poor/no instructions to remove the protective covering, BUT the mouse is still assessed properly with it removed because they took the time to inspect.
However, as some feedback to Pwnage, they need to make it much more clear to their end users that the film is present as it does not have any pull tabs and is transparent, providing very little indication that it's there unless you know to look for it.
Yeah, blame it on the product instead of using a really reliable and professional staff to review the product
If a reviewer has an issue with the packaging then a large number of purchasers will also, this is a usability issue that clearly wasn't tested. But who knows how they actually test product packaging.
It's like how software designers hide stuff in the UI and just assume users will magically find it.

Ltt eats desiccant packets and pop tarts with the wrapper...
Yeah I would've jumped on this so fast if it was a solid shell or at least no slits on the sides. It was really the deciding factor for me. I've been very happy with my EC1-CW even though it is heavier. Having the charging dock and the pink dots are my favorite feeling switches. Plus it's been rock solid no changes to click feel, or shell unlike the DA v3 PRO that is plagued with those quality issues. Having all the settings on the mouse is trade off I'm willing to take for a little more weight as well.
I can't imagine you like this if you have and EC1 and Da this is like EC3 or smaller.
@@profosist I'm not super picky in the size department as long as it's not too small, I mained the g pro x superlight for a couple years as well. I do prefer ergo shapes though but my hands are pretty giant to the point I can finger tip the ec1 without any issues. Anything around the ec3 size and up I'm comfortable with. I have the model d, model d pro, da v3 pro, g pro x superlight, viper ultimate, and ec1-cw. I like mice in general but haven't really hit home on a perfect main for myself unfortunately. The DA v3 pro would be if the qc issues weren't so prevalent and wireless charging would be perfect. I like the ec1 but it's not my perfect at home shape, the back is a little to drop off for my palm to hit comfortably on, I would prefer a slightly more pronounce hump towards the back. I do prefer a wireless charging option on a wireless mouse that is supposed to be "pro" and premium costing anywhere above $120 I think they should have that option. It doesn't break my decision all together but it is certainly a point against for me personally if they don't have it.
@@profosist Actually got this mouse in about a week ago and yeah, it's my main now. I thought the cut outs on the side would annoy me WAY more than they do. Honestly I don't even notice them now. I'm usually not a fan of Omron switches but these are implemented so way these are actually my favorite mouse clicks. The side buttons I do wish were a little bit lower like the DA v3 pro and a touch easier to spam click, they are very satisfyingly clicky but a little too stiff imo, not by a ton or anything game breaking just wish they were a little lighter. I haven't used the grip tape and I don't plan to, I don't need them I actually very much enjoy the feel of this mouse without it. Mouse wheel encoder is fabulous, and the mmb is great, very crisp and easily spammable with a good reset. I actually love the feel of the mouse wheel just being plastic without any rubberized stuff.
Build Quality is amazing, and it's implementation in general are really done well. The moveable sensor for me is nice, I actually do prefer my sensor further forward and have set it at the very front and left it there since. You don't notice the weight balance because it's so light but you get used to it very fast and don't notice after that. Slam click is actually useful since this mouse is so tight implementation that if you do drop the mouse from like a cm it will click.
Now here's the one big con and this is true with every higher polling rate mouse. The battery. The battery with 2k is dogshit. You'll get about 2-3 days MAX with moderate gaming. At 1k the battery life is pretty solid, probably about a week of moderate to heavy use. I only notice the 2k on my desktop in all honestly, it's like barely noticeably smoother if at all. I use 170hz panel and it's really not noticeable to the point of being worth it at all in the slightest for the loss of battery. Now it's hard to exactly nail down how good or bad the battery is because the software does not report it accurately. I have seen this mouse gain 5% points, I've seen it multiple times go up a few percentage without being charged at all and I've seen it charge from 76% to 99% in like 10 minutes showing full charge, just to take it off the charge and then it drops back down to 83%. So the software and or the mouse do not accurately display the battery level.
TLDR;
Overall an amazing mouse with great clicks and feel all around including the scroll wheel encoder. The side holes aren't nearly as bad as you think especially after a week or so. Don't use 2k polling rate as it cuts the battery life in half or more, and the software does not accurately report the battery life.
The best part is this and many other incorrect videos just left online
I so would like to have one of these awesome super high end mice, but there always seems to be some kind of compromise with them somewhere
