Wingkiting with the Flysurfer Hybrid 5.5

- Da der Wind für meinen Mojo Wing etwas zu stark war, habe ich einfach meinen FLYSURFER Hybrid 5.5 direkt an die Bar gehängt und ab aufs Wingboard. Ging deutlich besser als gedacht.
Selbst Kiteloop hat ohne Flugleinen nach dem ersten Crash geklappt.
I’ve been doing this with the prism 2.5 m kite on rollerblades. It’s Hella fun the short lines make it more controllable.
Back here a year later after watching the BRM parawing videos. Does flysurfer have anything similar in the works?

Ich habe gar keine Flugleinen dran. Das ist nur die Waage. Ein Tubekite ist steif und würde diese Verbiegung gar nicht mögen. Nimm dafür lieber den Hybrid.

@@dsjf NASA para wing. It's a simple single skin kite with no spars or batons. It's very good for connecting to a bar with no lines and longboarding.

As a paragliding Pilot this looks very interesting. Did you experimentet with the short lines yourself or can you buy this setup with these short lines? Probably a very agile Wing which needs delicate steering inputs.
Yeah - those are the shortest lines I've ever seen on a kite!
You can just take off the flying lines of your bar and connect the kite directly to your bar. That's it. Safety should not work as travel range is too short.
thought about this already a lot - maybe takes advantages from kiting and winging together:
- cheaper than a wing, and very possible longer lasting - maybe you don't need a hybrid for such short lines, I think water launch with a peak will be quite easy with such short lines,
means cheap powerful drive....
- starting easy from a lot more spots than with normal kite lines
- safety (buoyancy)
When I dropped the kite in front of me, with a peak I wold have hydrofoil over the lines I think.
Hi Armin, one guy ( Chuck McKay) asks for the lenght of the lines a baoard leas.You mentioned just the board leash. An other one (Albert Hajas) asked about the board and foil size. You replied with your weitht and board size. Why did your answer only one of the questions?
What is missing? Kite is Flysurfer Hybrid 5.5m2.

Very cool. Discussing exactly this with a buddy just last week. How long are your lines? I see no board leash. Was that an issue
No flying lines, directly connected to the bar. I don't use a board leach. I hate it and never had a problem to get to my board again so far.

I just tried it out, if/how that works. I love new things to try out. If that makes sense, I don't know.
+ compared to winging, you are hooked and need less arm forces.
+ You can use your hybrid also on 0m lines, if you want a bit wing feeling or have no space to launch.
- If there is no wind, the wind you can still hold in your hand.

You need to try. But the Hybrid has a lot getter low-end, grunt and depower. It will work massive better.
What is the advantage of this over kite foil or wing foil?
Don’t know, just playing to find out.

It is a backpack GoPro Camera Mount. Unfortionatly, it is not at the market anymore.

Can you share some feedback on your thoughts about the performance on the waves and on there observations . I use the Peak and a surf wing and 23m lines but not stied short lines . Well done
It is a lot of fun. But timing is very different, as lines are super short. Turn you board first and then the kite.
Power the kite a 5-10cm more, to get going more easy.
What's the lowest wind speed you got by with this setup?
I expect min is 15knt to get going. But that depends on your Hyddrofoil, Board, ...
Freaks can now get going on a Hydrofoil just by pumping on water. So the could go with that at 5knt if the kite floats itself.

it was averaging 19kts gusting 23kts on the shore. I suspect that it was a bit stronger (+2-3kts) in the middle of the lake.

In fact , it is kite foiling with too short lines. You loose too much power and don t have enough room to kiteloop or downloop
