Congratulations on the baby! I've done a ton of cool things in my 47 years of life, but becoming a Dad is hands down the coolest thing I've done. My daughter is 5 now and absolutely loves the outdoors/camping/hunting/fishing. You'll get to create so many great memories with your lifestyle. I'm very happy for you!!!!!
Congratulations I’m glad you like the canopy I’ve been using one for quite a while now and I am much prefer it to a rack. I love most of the accessories you put on your truck but I’m not a fan of that canopy. I went with the RSI Evo smart canopy. Granted the canopy you chose is lighter than the one I have that’s the upside however I feel the canopy I have comes with a lot more features. I have the smart table which fastens to the inside roof of my canopy I have the smart rack where the rack drops down for easy loading so I don’t have to get onto the roof. It has three little windows that I can open as I drive down the road. It also has a positive air pressure vent on the roof which creates positive pressure inside the canopy preventing dust from getting in there when you’re on those off-road trails. It’s the only canopy on the market to my knowledge that is weatherproof and not just the weather resistant. With it being stainless steel it is there strongest canopy currently in the world holding a whopping 330 lb as you drive down the road and 770 lb while parked that’s a lot of weight it’s capable of supporting on the roof. But I’m looking forward to seeing what you do with your canopy I really do like some of the ideas you come up with for your truck.
Buddy did something like you guys, light weight too, taller a little though, alum skeleton frame, 1" compressed in wool. He has a short bed, so when hes parked and his swing arm is open, he can pull an interbal extension to his camper out, drops legs, under platform of extension is also box tubed, and sheet steel L bracing with punch outs, looks ww2 bomberish. Gives him the room to camp with his blueheeler and boondock. He just ticked over 570k or so miles, and with his '18 well used, hes putting the bed and cab on a custom frame hes had jigged and worked on during pandemic. Excited to see what he does. He did a 5.9 cummins, in a bronco II with a new bronco inspired hand fab front end minus headlights, he went with custom led ones for c10s, and motorcycle orange signals he installed into the headlights... he doesnt use social media but he will be up at overland expo next month! He just wrapped up a new bronco, B350, Bronco Superduty, hes had his bronco for 2 weeks and he already butchered 😑. The B350 will be at overland as well his Bronco R build with his brother, a 5.2L gt500 powered runner...and here I thought v8s wouldnt be feasible. Yall make me envious. My 4.8L LS old 4r was just wrecked! And I feel to old to wanna wrench right now hahaha. I am searching for a clean LOW MILED 2004 Tacoma TRD red 😍 and stick, a unicorn I knowwww 😵🤯😭
Love the new canopy and excited to see what comes next. I wish there was a fast forward button to get the finished product and see it out on the trail again. Congrats on the new kid.
Congrats on the baby! I have been rockin a snugtop for a few years and absolutely love it. However been recently considering upgrading to to Alu-Cab - think it may be a better option for what I want to do. Looking forward to seeing what else you have in store.
I just bought one of these and have not installed it yet, but i am worried about sealing the front corners of the bed, is there anything you did to get it to seal well?
Dang that thing looks clean! I love the idea of a safe lockable canapy to protect gear and all the things. If I go the canapy route I think this will be on my list for my tacoma! Seems like there are plenty of future options to add on to it as well which is nice.
Gonna have to water tight seal the top of your bed and between the cracks for you to have a complete water seal in your trunk. Our beds have a lot of water entry points. Unless if you don't care of course.
What do you have for rear springs? I installed the same Alucab Explorer Canopy, Expedition 3.1 Tent on stock 2020 TRD Offroad and my springs are shot after 1 trip. I have the Heavy Duty OME Springs on order along with Firestone Airbags.
Sick Bro.! Can’t wait to see the upcoming upgrades! Unfortunately, shipping is hella crazy out here on Guam.! 🤦🏽♂️ nonetheless, keep the vids coming. 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Man these videos popped up all ass-backwards in my feed. I’m like, whaaaa, he switched from a canopy camper to a canopy?!? Nahh, just a 2yr old video messing with me. Busta ages like fine wine, regardless
Why a roof top tent and separate canopy, instead of a canopy camper? Wouldn’t be heavier and no Interior tent access from bed? Sick rig, sweet guys, nice vid. Fun to see guys who know what their doing and doing good work.
It’s actually lighter, having this setup allows me to remove the tent / canopy at home whenever I want. Aside from that this is also budget friendly when pricing it compared to a canopy camper lol
@@Soloquay nothing official. The doors are made using a fairly thin sheet of aluminum. Expedition Essentials maxtrax mounts could work. They make them for the canopy camper. The gas struts would need to be swapped for some with a higher load rating.
So...a camper shell. Interesting to watch what people do with their Tacomas. I have a soft top on mine and will sleep in it during hunting season when carrying a backpack isn't practical because I carry a tree stand. Any other time, I backpack to camp as far away from people as I can get. What I've observed with "Overlanding" is that people take a simple endeavor such as camping and complicate it exponentially with an excess of gear and a bunch of trucks trampling Mother Nature.
It’s the same concept. My type of setup allows you to get from one place to another and have everything you need to camp comfortably. I like to call them mini vacations without paying for a hotel or being around people. It’s not for everyone.
I have a Dodge 2500 diesel 3/4 ton, extended cab, with an 8 foot bed. Price is what I'm looking for, want to buy the super Pacific truck topper with a sleeper on top. About a month ago they measured my truck bed. I thought i was going to sign an agreement, but told me to go on line. Over the phone conversation i said that wanted agreement when i drove from Springfield Oregon to Portland Oregon.
The only problem I see is you have a short bed. I’m 6ft tall. I bought the 2021 Tacoma SR5 with the long bed and the access cab. The long bed is 6’-2”. The Tacoma with quad doors and long bed are too long. I sleep good in the bed with a Leer shell. If you’re 4’-10” you’re good. I just want the Tacoma for a hunting Vehicle.
Why do you need a hook up? Why not pay people for their hard work. Cheap ass folks not valuing people’s time and begging for hook ups no wonder everything is made in China now.
Welcome to the AluCab fam!! LFG!

That's a good looking cap. Looking forward to seeing what else you do with it. Congrats on becoming a dad!
Love it. Can u do just one window on one side of the top?
Nice George, love that alu cap, congrats on you new baby
That's one sharp camper. Sick set up

Hey I’m eyeing the same cap and was wondering since you’ve had it if you have had any water leaks? Thanks
Nice setup George
I'm hoping to get my canopy camper this fall
Come visit us!
This is beautiful. Now I want to add one to my truck! Congrats.
I considered alu cab. Price is RIDICULOUS! Go fast camper👍
It’s simple, You pay for quality.
Can you lock & unlock from inside the truck bed?
The Canopy looks good sir, I also like how you have your spare on your back bumper I hate having my spare tire under the bed
Does anyone know what hitch set up that is for the spare?
Super sweat set up! Just purchased the Snug top and after watching your set up really regret it. Congrats on the baby!
Will you be adding your seats back in since you have a little one now?
What size are the channels inside the canopy? Wondering if one could Mount recovery boards in there
Looks awesome bro! Can't wait to see the finished product!
Awesome ,I hope they will fabricate for Ford Maverick too. We are many Maverick owners what want that canopy model.
How much does the truck weigh with all the mods, and do you daily drive it?
Love the new canopy and excited to see what comes next. I wish there was a fast forward button to get the finished product and see it out on the trail again. Congrats on the new kid.
what made you the decision to switch bumpers? I like the C4 Hybrid bumper compared to this one. Which bumper would you prefer George?

Canopy is the way to go! You’ve seen my rig with the RSISmartCap. Love it that it protects against dust/water. Strong as sh*t too
It will definitely be a game changer!
Is the positive pressure air vent enough air flow for camping?
To sleep in the bed of truck? I can't say as I've never done that
Looks good but I don't think the styling can compete with the RSI.
What kind /model are these tires?
looks awesome ! does its leak?
Can you open these from the inside?
What spray are you using on the top rail of the bed to clean it or protect it ?
Sweet Cap George!!!
What swing out is that you have mounted to the rear? I was trying to search some of your previous vids for it.
dust seals for canopy is good. Tail gate on pickups is NOT air tight, does not keep dust out.
No seat belts in that tacoma. Love the cap !
What tire hitch are you using? Did you custom make the table or is it a kit?
Where can I get that wrap in the rear???
Does the hard shell tent come with the bed cover for the gen 3.1 or do you purchase both seperately. Thanks
Heyyyyy congrats on the baby george !
Looks tough and well made. Do the offer a longer (6'2") size? Do they offer a taller wedge-type (22"-36") size?
Have you driven in rain with this? How does it hold up against leaking?
Does it open from the inside and does it leak?? Been wanting an Alucab forever
Looks sweet!
I just bought one of these and have not installed it yet, but i am worried about sealing the front corners of the bed, is there anything you did to get it to seal well?
Side windows or not? Fiberglass topper side windows prone to leaking--are the side windows on a Alu-cab? TIA
Hi George, just came across your channel the rig looks great. Not sure if you have previously covered it but I am curious what wheels you are running?
Dang that thing looks clean! I love the idea of a safe lockable canapy to protect gear and all the things. If I go the canapy route I think this will be on my list for my tacoma! Seems like there are plenty of future options to add on to it as well which is nice.
Congrats bro! Love the setup.
Daniel is the man
How long to install the explorer canopy ?
Im rethinking my whole setup now lol
Let us know if we can help!
Super dope bro!
Gonna have to water tight seal the top of your bed and between the cracks for you to have a complete water seal in your trunk.
Our beds have a lot of water entry points.
Unless if you don't care of course.
When installed, the front of the bed gets sealed.
Awsome vid!!So George, need a discount code for the alucab gen 3.1 rtt. Make it happen bro. Lol👍🤣
It’s only a matter of time when you get it bro! 😂🙌🏽
Does it leak?
Rad, stoked, brah, bro, gnarly, sick,
chyeah!
What’s the dynamic vs static weight limit?
Sweet looking setup bro.I want to have mine hook up but they have nothing for Toyota Tundra 2022 yet :(
What do you have for rear springs?
I installed the same Alucab Explorer Canopy, Expedition 3.1 Tent on stock 2020 TRD Offroad and my springs are shot after 1 trip. I have the Heavy Duty OME Springs on order along with Firestone Airbags.
I use Deaver stage 3
WOWWWWWWWWW GREAT SET UP. HOW DO YOU LIKE AFTER FEW MONTHS
How much this with installation?
Does anybody have info on The spare tire carrier, Hitch Mount. on this video. Make. model. price?
Sick Bro.! Can’t wait to see the upcoming upgrades! Unfortunately, shipping is hella crazy out here on Guam.! 🤦🏽♂️ nonetheless, keep the vids coming. 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Oh yes it is!!
Sweet rig!
oh and by the way....im jealous. Great looking Taco.
love how alu-cab and RLD gets bolted down to the bed BUT so ugly haha.
Next time maybe you'll show the canopy!😮
How much
Man these videos popped up all ass-backwards in my feed. I’m like, whaaaa, he switched from a canopy camper to a canopy?!? Nahh, just a 2yr old video messing with me. Busta ages like fine wine, regardless
Haha sorry man! I appreciate your support since day one!

How do you film? Your phone? I think before overland expo I need a gopro, and a new computer haha...old fart problems 😅
Damn that looks great man
I made the switch to a FWC!
Awesome 👏
How much does this cost? A ball park price is fine
around $3000.00
@@tinyrigco is there a way to mount recovery boards and fuel to the sides of these canopys?

Why they only have a long bed option for Tacoma is beyond me
I just spoke with OK4WD who sell these and they sell the double cab short bed canopy.

Too expensive. And they don't have one for Tundra. RSI Smartcap is better.
The RSI leaks and it’s steel which is heavier and will rust over time. Good luck and thanks for watching
Can't put much weight on top though.
What’s the load rating for the cab?
