The very first time I found some gayageum music on RUclips; it was once I started watching "Hwang Jin Yi". It was love at first sight, specially the section on 2:34, that way the drum seemed to compete but, at the same time, created a stunning harmony with the strings. These performers are great; wish I could see them live. Love Korea (from Peru)
I don't know a great deal about Kayagum music but, this piece is certainly nice. I don't know wheter it's a folk piece or not but it really sounds nice. The rhythm between the Kayagum and the drum is really cool and enticing. To a certain extent the piece almost sounds jazzy.
@2008Xall korean traditional music is widely considered a more complex form of jazz. if you look up pansori as well, their voices are "more developed" and is highly sought after by many in the jazz world
I must agree with one of the comments...where was this performed?? I would definitely love to attend a performance by this person and listen to this piece. To some people, Sanjo music or other kayagum music genre sounds dissonant; maybe unpleasent. But you really have to understand it to say that it sounds bad. Someone said in a comment that other players suck... I don't believe they suck, however, their music may not be as familiar to your ears and therefore you think it sucks.

어린 여학생이라 그런지 리듬감, 박진감이 부족하다. 그래도 기본은 충실한 것 같다.
