I absolutely loved the analysis of this song you two gave. I always thought of it as an angry song but more so about betrayal. Maybe that vessel had been betrayed by Jessi/Eden etc. They possibly cheated or wronged him in some way that made him lose his trust and that maybe he finds it easier to be alone than to be in that relationship but can see where you two are coming from in your interpretation.
I was also pleasantly surprised on your rankings. I'd have to put it at number 8 myself, I was about to rank it at number 4 than realised that The Offering was at 6 and there's no way Gods is over The Offering.... I'm starting to question my ranking 😅
Also I'm not sure which part of Aus you're from (assuming you two are in Aus lol) but I do know that sleep token are perfoming along side Bring me the Horizon, Make them suffer and Daine in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. They're gonna kill it!

Currently Gods is at #9 for me, just a bit higher than the offering and higher.
I like gods for how angry and sarcastic it is, just as much as i like Levitate for how accepting and "well thats that"-ish it is. Ok the English language has left my brain. I hope u know what i mean.
I totally get it!
The irreverence if Gods compared to the acceptance of Levitate.

Okay, so! I really like both of your theories, very clever!
The way I see it, this is just another ploy from Sleep to make Vessel suffer even further with her narcissistic actions.
One method a narcissist will use to make you submit further to them and make you feel like they're the only ones you have/ will love you is by making those in your close social circles turn against you. They speak badly about you, make themselves out to be the victim that needs the attention. You are the blame, and they convince your friends/ family/ possible outreaches that you are actually the "bad" one.
This is a song about Sleep turning to her God friends, making everyone turn against Vessel.

And there are always people I can call on
It's all so easy for me - (Vessel is screaming in rage and agony, both at himself for being so subservient to Sleep, and at Sleep for... obvious reasons. Even if he does have people he can call on, and it really is so easy for him to reach out and he KNOWS it... he feels like he can't. That's what it's feels like dealing with a narcissist)

I am alone again - (Vessel is done fighting Sleep. He's fully submitting himself here, a broken man once more. He's done taking chances, he doesn't have teeth to fight back with, no more "fake it till you make it" smiles and bullsh*t. He's done, he's alone, and he's back at Sleep's feet)

'Cause the joke's on me and I'm laughing too - (I LOVE this line! Sleep finally sees Vessel's attempts at trying to win her back, and when he sees that she's finally willing... He becomes FURIOUS at himself for letting himself come to this point. He was the punchline this whole time, and he did that all to himself.)

It's all so easy for me - (Again, Sleep is here for blood sacrifices, and he knows it. So he'll bleed for her, that's nothing to him! "bleed me dry! Just don't make me feel this pain any longer!"

Tearing me asunder beside you - (Ok, this is where I go back and forth between my interpretations... but I think this is Sleep. The change in his tonality here makes it feel like she's the one finally responding to him. She's asking if he's digging this treatment, because instead of just leaving, he's STILL sticking around. "Do you like the way our relationship feels? Do you like it when I carve into you? Do you like it when you tear at me, too?")
It's all so easy for me x2 - (Back to a screaming Vessel, verifying that he's willing to do whatever it takes to get Sleep back to him)
A lot of their songs are so similar to the relationship between a narcissist vs. empath... something I very much relate to. I have a very complicated relationship with my own mother... and the main reason why I still haven't moved out is because of the very reason Vessel can't seem to let go of Sleep. The feeling of helplessness, despite knowing how easy it can be to just... leave. But what goes on in the mind and the heart are two different things.
Anyways... I didn't mean to end this on such are dark note, but that's Sleep Token for ya. I hope this analysis makes sense!
To be fair, you leaving your mother must be a bit harder than Vessel leaving Sleep. I mean, we will always feel some "guilt" if we "betray" our parents. But i hope you find your peace 😊
and thank you for your indepth analysis for each song. Have been reading all of them. I still don't know about whose perspective is what, but i'm guessing they're both toxic! Lol
