Man, I wish I had the opportunity to go and train and practice discipline with jocko. Break some bad habits and start doing better in my life. I’m kinda new to his program and I wish I had gotten into him a lot sooner. I was a dumb ass for most of my life and now that I have kids, I feel like I’m scrambling to grow up and be the man they need me to be and to be the example they need me to be. I fear failing them. I don’t think I am but I believe I can do better.

@@PatrickHenry-pz1pd Remember that President GW Bush, a proclaimed born-again Christian who was helped elected buy the Evangelical Christian voters, said he prayed to God for guidance on invading Iraq, think it was Jesus who answered back? Where in the bible does it say "You are either with us or against us" or "The best defense is a good offense"? Is that the Texas bible? Must be Texas Jesus who said that cause real Jesus said "love thy enemy" and "turn the other cheek". Cause that is what Jocko was a part of and alot of people died for nothing (well except for the Mil-Ind complex leaders who got rich, but lets not mention that right). Remember how they used the word "Freedom" to justify every stupid war we get into. What propaganda horse manure. If Jocko actually practiced "EXTREME OWNERSHIP" he would put himself in prison for being part of an illegal force that continued to destroy a country. If no one Volunteers to serve then the GW Bush's of the world can't do harm. PERIOD, EXTREME OWNERSHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The rest is BS talk.

Echo hitting with psychology this morning.
    Normal was boring.
    Change was Terror.
Grampy had to really work with me well into my teens with the acceptance of the word change.
Naturally I was afraid of change. I was 4 years old and came to a normal place where I was adored, adorned, loved, protected and disciplined. I didn't want that to change. Fear arose when I came to understanding. All these things were examples of a leader; that loved by example.
    Nice Job Echo.
    Mahalo
    Most people "think" they're normal.

He replied, opposed to what? 🤔

C.S. Lewis' essay on the Tao seems applicable here, relative to common sense. Or, Aquinas's natural law from the Summa. Being made in the image of God means a lot of us end up with natural revelation, even from different cultures, that give us common wisdom- but some of the issue is figuring out how to govern that common sense. The blessing in the West is the hangover from Christianity tends to filter the wisdom that matters into a roughly Christian ethic mixed with stoicism/pietism and a low-level confidence in the capacity for rational transformation via education and a higher transcendent ideal guiding society, the importance of local loyalties and tribal loyalties, and pessimism about the ubiquity of selfishness in human nature.
We're running on the fumes of the incredible gas that comes from a broad Protestant Christendom at the Founding of the nation. It's a blessing that those fumes allow us to see wisdom around us.

    A Man of Virtue
Oh, to be a man of virtue,
    With compassion in his soul,
To live a life of honor,
And to make his heart his goal.
To treat his fellow man with kindness,
And to love his neighbor true,
To be a friend to all who need him,
And to help them see it through.
For virtue is the key to happiness,
    And compassion is its guide,
To live a life of love and kindness,
And to never leave one's side.
So let us strive to live with virtue,
And to treat each other well,
For in the end, it is our kindness,
That will make our story tell.
And when the final day has come,
And we look back on our life,
May we be proud of all we've done,
And the love we shared in strife.
For there is no greater joy in life,
Than to be a man of virtue true,
To live a life of love and kindness,
And to make our hearts anew.

The Lego movie emphasizes creativity not because it's pushing kids to be special or different, it's because our society has a history of squashing creativity. Put those paints away and go read a book. You'll never be anything in life if you just play guitar. Be an engineer, doctor, lawyer... Children's creativity is destroyed because society values certain titles and status.

When you ask a question, ask a yes or no question.
Then you have two.hexsgrams w moving lines, and you read the moving lines on the first hexagram. You don't read all the hexagrams.
You throw six coins, marked from the bottom up to form 2 hexagram. Read the moving line (the one that intersects the two hexagrams).
Then you'd get a specific answer.
You guys ought to ask a question instead of mocking the credibility of the answer.
It's not actually divination, it gives you guidance to make better choices for that specific situation.

    How Human Nature Works
Human nature is the desire to receive, also called “desire to enjoy,” and it functions by receiving what is beneficial to itself and rejecting what is harmful. Everything in our lives is built upon this calculation where we first try to distance ourselves from harm, and then seek how to draw ourselves closer to what is beneficial.
Human nature also includes a multilayering of systems that work simultaneously on still, vegetative, animate and human levels. One of those systems is our bodily one, which operates involuntarily. If our bodies are healthy, then they know what is good for them and draw that goodness to themselves. After the bodily system, there is the emotional system, which also functions relatively according to instinct. From the emotional system, we move to the mind, and from the mind to the intellect, and so on. That is, we have systems over systems that concurrently work on receiving what is beneficial and rejecting what is harmful.
Such is human nature and the essence of our lives. Our every desire, thought and action operates according to the calculation, “How can we receive what is most beneficial to us and reject what is harmful?”

The way I've come to understand Divination and Magick,
Is that after a certain point, you began to become aware of the subtle notes given by the things around you.
Sort of how those who spend allot of time in a wilderness start to pay attention to how the animals act, and that can be a help in realizing maybe predators are around or something is changing.
The true essence of divination works the same way.
    Colors, Sounds, Smells, Taste.
Everything comes into play because they are

Normal mathematically is the bell curve (picture the shape of a bell on a graph). It is how people tend to be distributed on any score. On any given trait/score/behavior, when you sample from the population, 95% fall within two standard deviations of the mean. Standard deviation is the average distance from the mean. So there also is a normal amount to stray from the population average. Just 2.5% are extreme on the high and and 2.5% are extreme on the low end (5% in both tails total). This is slightly simplified but good enough...and prob not normal to post on youtube 😅

There is ancient wisdom and common sense but people are completely capable of distorting and twisting things out of realistic perspectives.

We all have an innate capacity for common sense without it being accounted for as written or history categorized. People perception is by choice base on desire beliefs. Social conformity is what we choice to focus on depending. YOU CANNOT SAY THAT YOU DON’T identify others based on commonality even if most people do not like it. There is a movement to go with social convention based on what’s good for us. Eat healthy (what does it mean to eat healthy), exercise (getting rid of stress, reacting with conscientious decision to do something in response to threat), have a positive mindset (in response to self and others), do Jujutsu or another form of material art (learn how to fight, yes, I said LEARN HOW TO FIGHT BACK), educate yourself (by any means that brings about positive change). We choice or do not choice to let people have an impact and hopefully their is decent thought out into how conformity is made.
The ancient philosophy by common sense is written in modern day based on what we want to see out of people. Women of the Way describes ancient leaders from 2,500 years ago of spiritual women with wisdom as part of the Buddhist culture both in reality and methodology. Maha Maya had dreams of walking as big of steps as the universe as she expanded with restrictions. Srimala who vowed as a spiritual leader, “I vow to share all my wealth, but never to try to convert others for my own gain”, and she became Queen. Naha Deva a great teacher who would not lie.
People are prone to divert from consensus on agenda. When I took the pretest with the Marines in Seattle, I scored very high in all areas. When asked to do so again at the Navy recruiting site, I got tried of it and my score was skewed based on what I know which branch of service I am going into. Also, when surprised with another test after already having one, all I really wanted to do was PT. Not sit at a desk again. Leadership has leaders who have their own constraints and it’s important to know what they are. I can do followership up to a point until my realistic demands are disregarded. Then, I have to take charge of my own path, or I fly off the deep end. It’s not unreasonable to choice Marines are my chosen branch of service. Also, if I feel like I am being ignored and purposely gone against on perfectly reasonable methods and decision to get where I need to go, I stop being respectful. It’s really clear when leaders are being completely unreasonable with heinous decisions. The Trump administration gives a larger picture of a leader who acted wrong and caused chaos. Leaders should be upfront about their limitations to prevent retaliation.
The Art of War is a classic book about the illogical expectations to see of the enemy. It gives a depiction on knowing at a psychological basis whether you are at war. By being aware of violence in everyday interactions by reading about violence, I am more able to control myself by understanding what the enemy is doing. This way I can know whether my actions by acting against is truly wrong or not, or if my point is worthy I’m going against the grain and done so in a away that I can account for what is really acting in the wrong. In a pattern self created, my point is to get across where I stand, other people’s perception maybe off not based on what my actions are, but based on their perception.
To prevent procrastination or to live a more driven life is self determined. While being under the thumb of someone, people tend to act according to what they believe the boss would want. At some point you have to stand up to really living your life which means facing the push back. The push back happens for the sake of the person who feels threatened which means more likely then not it will be an act of war. This makes you stronger. Procrastination no longer happens when everyday you live in discomfort and have to fight for your life and what you want. Ideally, it doesn’t have to be so difficult. Difficulty goes against what we want which is to effortlessly go where we are any to go. The positive mindset is wait for perfect conditions, but the strong positive mind set is to go.
There is only one thing I am interested in here and that is to join the discussion to gain closer to my goal of Marines.
