Where's the signature telltale cellshaded comic book art style? for a COMIC BOOK GAME, they decide to miss out on the comic book style.
And why base the game on the films? Batman's game wasn't based on the films. Should've based the game on Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning runs on GOTG. Now they pretty much handicapped themselves

You know what would be a much better series for Telltale? Spider-man. I mean in his stories he has to make hard decisions that have a lasting effect on his personal life all the time.
Dr. Madd But, Spider-Man games are usually made for gameplay. It wouldn't be much of a Spider-Man game if you couldn't web-swing.
I mean my ideal solution would be a regular Spider-man game with Telltale story elements but I doubt we'll be getting that anytime soon.

EKOBLADE22 I'd prefer a Spider-man or Daredevil for Telltale. Punisher could work as a third person shooter like Max Payne or Watch Dogs I mean they pretty much are already Punisher games (same backstory of the mob killing family) so it'd be an easy transition.
Dr. Madd Really hope they're gonna do a Spider-Man one next, would be so cool! Then again, we're already getting Spiderman ps4 so a Daredevil telltale game would be awesome too! Maybe after that Spider-Man.
Dr. Madd they could have made the walking dead one a 3rd person shooter but they didn't, the punisher telltale could easily be made
I don't think that they shouldn't make a Punisher Telltale game just that there are more appropriate game genres for him to be in. I applaud Telltale for making a zombie survival game into an engrossing story game but sometimes the transition to story based game doesn't work so well (take for example their Minecraft story mode). If they did decide to do Punisher I wouldn't complain though especially if they made a good story to go along with it.

Well if the game has actual gameplay to compensate for the lack of graphical quality I'd agree, but this is an interactive game where you mostly watch, choose dialogue and maybe you'll get to tap a few buttons here or there to get your character to do something.
I mean honestly this is 2017 and we have so much more technology available at reasonable prices that it's ridiculous that these developers haven't even tried to push themselves to make something different, they've used the same boring lazy formula over and over, I'd hoped they would at least incorporate some gameplay where we would have more control over our character but that seems unlikely at this point so why not upgrade the visuals since that's all we're getting, a stylized interactive movie.
You're not a comic reader are you? The art is what makes or breaks the book. If the art is good it can hook you onto a story so fast especially if the writing is on the same level, but if the art is terrible no matter how good the writing is it won't save the book. For example check out artists like Ramon Villalobos (E is for Extinction), Djibril Morissette-Phan (Ultimates #6 or #7) or Langdon Foss (Vote Loki). E for Extinction I didn't care for since the beginning since I don't like the X-men, but Ultimates I REALLY REALLY Loved, the writing was awesome (which isn't too surprising cause I really LOVE the writer) and his art made me drop off the book and I haven't gone to it since. And Vote Loki I was sooo excited when It was announced but I was super disappointed with the art when the first issue came out.
So yeah, graphics are as important, if not MORE important than how good the game or the story is.
Lazar Lilic Yes I read comics (not marvel because they're not doing so well comic wise right now) and I agree with you that art is the make or break of the comic. However, I find that it is easier to ignore graphics that aren't amazing and enjoy the story than I do with comics. Unlike, comics, video games are not all visual. Video games split the visual appeal with audio and the actual interactive-ness (is there a real word for that?). It's not all riding on the graphics like comics rely so heavily on art, so I personally fine it easier to look past. If you can't look past the graphics, then don't play the game. Meanwhile, I'll enjoy the game.

Did people forget that this is how all telltale games look?
People whining about the graphics clearly haven't ever played a Telltale game before. They're not really games, interactive stories is the best way to describe them. Narrative is the main focus with graphics being the least of the developers' worries.
Katie Tucker I love Telltale Games. They're able to make deals with Marvel AND DC. I don't think I've ever seen that happen before with any other company.

but it's still a worry and if they still can't resolve this issue after over 25 released games, this "least of the developers' worries" turns into one of the bigger ones. people expect improvement, they have the resources, they have the time, i won't turn a blind eye only because they deliver somewhat decent storylines. it's a issue, fix it.

I just got this game on my mobile device. And I'm pump for episode 2.
i am happy Marvel is expanding back into console video games after being away for so many years. but i think the problem is with using Guardians of the Galaxy itself. the movie was a big risk and it payed off becoming on of the best MCU movies and just super hero movies in general but one of the key factors that made it so good was James Gunns unique sense of humor. i have noticed everything to trying to cash in on the film like the games, animated series and even the comics post the film all have a hard time capturing what Gunn did and maybe the property isn’t so great without him at the head

well marvel has made it very clear that they don't want to do movie tie-in games like they used to in the past which is why none of the upcoming games like guardians of the galaxy, marvel vs capcom infinite, Spiderman ps4 or the avengers game from square enix are based on the MCU.

I don't think it looks so bad as people here are saying, what i do think telltale should fix are those physics, they look too robotic and it kynda screws up their possibilities to make great fight scenes, it was also a problem in the other games they released too. They could really attract more players if they could do some movielike action scenes. The stories are allways the best part, so i trust them with that.
It's not out for me yet ;-;
