I’ve never played a Paladin before, honestly it’s not on my radar either. But after Dan’s character’s brain got eaten by an Intellect Devourer, he made an Oath of Glory character and it’s been kind of nice with some of the bonuses his class has
We’re basic Bs for pretty much anything Fey. The fact that the Ancients Paladin also embodies the light entrenches it it some of the most core Paladin themes since the beginning!
I played Sorcadin OoV/DivSoul in the Avernus campaign, which stalled at lvl7, so I was lvl5 Paladin, lvl2 Sorc. I felt super strong, it was a ton of fun having such a spread of tools to be combat effective and also support the party (19AC from plate+defense fight style, 3d6 weapon dmg from greatsword+HM, sentinel for lockdown and reaction atk, lay on hands, shield/absord elements, misty step, and of course the smites [once dealt 74 dmg in 1 atk!]), not to mention the theme of routinely encountering fiends as a paladin. Loved the vow of enmity moments, pointing to the big baddy on the field... 'You!... You want a piece of this?!' Would happily replay that kind of character.
1) I am glad Jake is prepared with enough glasses for game night 2) OP subclasses! Bring it on...I've got 676 new monsters! 3) A real paladin is LG #oldschool!
Glory is def a surprising one, but you’re right it is good! I cannot disagree with your list based on the criteria you’ve set. But on a note of personal preference I gotta go with 1. Ancients 2. Watchers 3. Crown Excellent video, as always!

I've never really looked into Paladins all the much although I am a fan of Oath of the Ancients!

Oh yeah, adding Divine Soul Sorcerer to that is not only incredibly thematic, but it tunes up all the fun to a ridiculous level. Outstanding build!
I am anticipating the choice of Glory to not be very popular. It's so underestimated though.
