  • Alisha Abdullah is the first Indian woman super bike racer and runs the Alisha Abdullah Racing Academy for women while on the lookout for young and talented women to train in motor sports, that is predominantly a male bastion. While only a handful of women across the world are known excelling in this arena, Alisha Abdullah dreams of a more equitable future for women in this sport. At TEDxSIBMBengaluru 2019, she narrates anecdotes from her life and talks of shattering the glass ceiling, while inspiring others like her to carve a path for themselves and create history. India’s first professional female national racing champion - Alisha Abdullah, has made a mark for herself on the racetrack and is one of the most popular racers in the country. She became the first Indian woman to get a podium finish in the international motorsport competition - Toyota Vios Cup in the year 2014 in Thailand. She has also started a racing academy, Alisha Abdullah Academy for Women, to groom youngsters for the future. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
