I honestly think the fans don’t even know what they want from Itzy as much as JYP doesn’t know what direction to take them in, and that’s the problem. You have crowd that want them to go back to teen crush, fans that want fast choreography and hype music, and the fans that want them to do more mature stuff. That’s the biggest problem imo.
Exactly. As a midzy, I loved their new concept when songs like mitm and loco was realised and now, Cheshire but their are always fans who really want them to return their teen crush eras. Their mature concepts are the best in my opinion but I want itzy to do a concept that they are comfortable with and maybe helps them with popularity. If it doesn't badly affect them or cause a problem, they should maybe experiment with different concepts. Since twice got hate for doing the same cute concept, idk, but the same might happen with Itzy.
@@twiceteencaratonce2532 to be honest no matter what concept they will choose to stick with, they will get hate nonetheless. Just like twice who were hated for “too cute concepts” when they were in their younger years of careers and now “miss the cute concepts” when they switched too mature one. But thats still better than having no direction whatsoever because with one concept (even if there is hate for the change) there will be a loyal fanbase eventually that will stick with them through that concept, right now people keep saying that itzy are losing popularity because their concepts are all iver the place, there is no way to grow. Steady fanbase. I used to love their music and concept before but i cant seem to find a way to follow them properly as they release smtn super catchy, then smtn super cringy and overly cute (like sneakers and boys like you or whatever its called) and then cheshire which i like but there is no guarantee they will stick to it either. Jyp is doing them messy, they need a direction…
@Keepyaheadup🤍🖤 when they debuted i liked their performance and sound too but as time goes on, the “i love myself” teen concept doesn’t seem to age too well. (Mind i add that singing about loving yourself but also following those strict beauty standards they are criticizing is quite cringe) Especially after seeing New Jeans - they’re like the new, fresh sound teenager concept which I LOVE and itzy should find one specific sound or concept that just suits them instead of just jumping around or at least get that distinctive middle ground (like red velvet’s double concept but it always feels like red velvet no matter what) they’re just missing something with their music direction… at least that’s my opinion too
@@slurp4495 yes i agree I'm really confused how can they go from wannabe to something like boys like you??? I really loved their teen crush and love myself concept. Wtf is jyp doing 💀
i actually liked cheshire WAY MORE THAN sneakers sneakers is pretty disappointing when we look at itzy's standard and leeseo is still very young , it's good that she is not SO MUCH in the spotlight yet, so that she can have her time to be mature slowly without those continuous harsh criticisms of the netizens
Ikr they need to step their game up and atleast comeback twice a year because now people can consider them "not popular enough" to only have one comeback every year.
ITZY is still very popular and relevant - people still talking about them. It’s just their songs and concept that are on decline. I hope they can really bounce back from this. They still have some of the best looking and talented members in this generation.
they are losing their relevance tho, if you ask people to name their fav 4th gen ggs, they'd probably mention the groups ive, le sserafim, and others but rarely itzy
In my opinion, they're not "irrelevant", people just aren't interested in their recent releases. Before semester break we had a kpop random dance and the organizers played mostly itzy songs. During Loco, Swipe, Wannabe and Dalla Dalla, the dance floor was packed, but when Boys like you, Sneakers and Cheshire played it was like as if nobody knew it was itzy which really made me confused.
@@tenderjuicy478 that's the truth tho. For example is YG to BLACKPINK. Instead of YG releasing hit after hit they decided to put BP in hiatus or even if they're giving them a comeback their album songs just has 3-8 songs (mini album and full album). YG should take the chance even before their coachella than giving them a mini album with 3-4 songs like how Hybe take the chance for BTS. YG are just relevant of being part in BIG3 rn and it's because of Blinks. If Blinks doesn't love BP, YG is already gone ever since BP's hiatus. BLACKPINK HAS A LOT of potential ever since they debuted but AGAIN, YG decided to put them in hiatus and let them work as a model.... There's nothing wrong THEM being a model but the fact that you decided to put them in hiatus just to let your artists work as a models until the artists themselves are already losing interest in being idols/artists is a NO WAY!
@@vicentefiguracion4431 blackpink wanted to go on hiatus nobody forced them. and after they returned they were SO bad in their tour it was embarrassing, that's on them not the company.
Companies don’t care about longevity anymore, that’s why when their new groups do slightly worse than their previous comeback, they basically drop them entirely in favor of debuting a new group. Rinse and repeat, that’s basically what 4th gen kpop is now.
A big reason is because many fans don’t care about longevity anymore. They will flock to the new hype group, then move on to the next one after that. It happened with Itzy, Everglow, Aespa, Kep1er… So now companies feel like they have to debut the new shiny group for profit
@@capncrunch2338 Yeah that's because now K-pop groups rely on visuals rather than music, which is why fans flock because they want to explore new members and find a new person to crush on. It won't happen to Bigbang or BTS because they are groups known for their unique music styles so fans are loyal. Also these new groups are finding it hard to stabilise their position in the industry. None of them really stand out.
New Jeans have an awesome discography and it seems people are appreciating their music and style, not just the visuals. People are getting smarter now and prefer good music over just visuals and sick choreos. Just saying.
“Chesire's choreography is underwhelmed“ Maybe you have to consider the fact that their vocals were much higher for this comeback. Even Lily of NMIXX who's a vocal powerhouse admitted that Chesire is a genuinely hard song for her to sing because it's too high. That's why the choreography is so simple so at least they can sing the song while performing.
Which is what fans and none fans are always asking for, live vocals but they don't seem to understand that dancing and singing at the same time is not easy
not to mention the girls are all hanging on by a thread and have gotten injured multiple times so they clearly wanted to make the choreo easier so they wouldn’t get even more hurt
Well, only Yeji and Lia are singing the choruses (I think, I didn't bother to hear the song after it came out again.) and Yeji sounds like she's straining/screaming, thankfully Lia's softer voice kinda saved it for me. I think Chaeryeong should get to sing a chorus, her voice has a nice tone and she can handle it pretty well, as long as the song isn't too high.
Even if leeso is not having advertising contracts at least she healthy, can eat most of what she wants, she's not getting hate or bashed. Fame is good but comes with a price and at least she's not paying that price for now.

Itzy had one of the most powerful MVs like Dalla Dalla and wannabe ( Wannabe being one of my fav Kpop mvs of all time ) but after loco every comeback felt boring and dull i mean the songs... choreo wise Itzy always slays...hope JYP makes them have a good song otherwise there are so many 4th gen girl groups having good songs and choreo as well so Itzy might fall sooner or later 🥺💔
True. I love itzy its my favorite 4th gen group but honestly their combacks become more and more boring. After loco everything went downhill. That's where you can notice "the Big3 privilege" cause they wouldn't be still toping charts if they were a nugu group.
@@mikemarek23 majority of the fans think they were boring and we are not hating on them we are criticizing them... because if they keep making such songs they will lose the race in 4th gen cuz their are so many new girl groups with Great songs and choreo as well....Itzy's biggest Power was thier choreography which was missing in other groups but now lots of girl groups who can go head to head in choreo with Itzy like Le Sserafim and New jeans so Itzy better make songs which "majority fans" like or they will keep losing fans.....
Which makes you wonder if they knew that and didn’t bother to mention it in this video hoping for engagement and comments. No excuse for them to conveniently leave that part out - Yeji’s back injury and Chaeyeong’s stage exhaustion are INFAMOUS stories that circulated, yet they leave them out here. Lazy reporting.

If itzy losing hype then what others who popular but not achieved the achievmnts that itzy have in year 2022? There's a tons of groups that more suitable to be included here and Itzy definitely not one of them. Many popular rookie groups can't even maintained as much & strong as Itzy after years, and the fact itzy still the most popular and big/strong in 4th gen era where full of new super groups here & there (and some even use too much mediaplay) shows how big and top tier itzy is. You said it with itzy, their strength has been great choreo and catchy hooks. Their concepts and direction has been kind of confused, I think it has more to do with jype trying to cater for the international market, when I think itzy should keep to their original edgy concept but make it a more mature sound. The reason why leserrafim are successful because their music is perfect for them, like a younger female empowerment concept, paired with great choreo has really stood out.
… I hate that they pitted itzy and le sserafim against each other… it’s kind of unnecessary to their point I love both of them and they’re more different than they are alike to me…
I will say, I don't just think some of the idols just may be taking turns, but are also trying different concepts of their own auras and personality to show Netizens their intrinsic side. That will be recorded by popularity more because the more they show the integrated artistry, the more popular they become based on the naturality of how they run their own money. It is just showing self-worth.

JYPE don't like to promote their group members individually since Miss A, unfortunately I do agree that Itzy popularity has been declining for a while now. The new 4th gen groups are just too strong but I have hopes that with good songs that Itzy can pick themselves up again. JYP needs to give them better song, Cheshire was a huge improvement from sneakers but it still wasn't able to hit the mark.
it had no promo. Half of the Korean public didn’t even know itzy was making a comeback until they performed Cheshire at mama- I have said it many places multiple times but idk how people expect Cheshire to hit any mark or chart well without div2/jype doing their JOB which they clearly haven’t been doing. midzy promoted Cheshire better than div2 did their entire promotional period and are continuing to do so 🙃
i think starship has this strategy to push specific members each comeback. eleven (wy, liz & leeseo) love dive (wy rei) after like (gaeul rei yujin) i think people are saying the company is neglecting the girls whenever the distribution and focus changes, but i really think it’s starsht long term plan. j don’t think it’s a problem for leeseo because honestly she’s still young and needs to focus on her studies. ive having 3 comebacks in less than a year is alr enough, having endorsements would push burdens on her. i do think they need to let leeseo do some more fun things like tiktok collabs and solo covers.

I laughed so hard on this video because why is it when it comes to kpop if a group isn't hitting number one every time you're flopping and losing popularity really that's not the case. Look at artists in the West as long as you're in the top 10 it's a major hit that's where you want to be you don't want to be anywhere else higher top 10 is the spot. And how are these groups losing popularity they're still winning Awards and selling tons of albums and selling out tours losing popularity mean you don't have fans at all and they stop supporting you that is not the case with a lot of these groups in kpop still selling out stadiums and selling millions of albums your popularity is still growing you people need to learn the difference
This is not Western Industry. There is weekly Music Show to promote their song and different kind of competition. You can't compare them with western when it comes to promotion. In short Kpop industry work ethics is insane

In my opinion 4th gen girl groups are mostly about the new act hype and visuals (especially big4 groups). And all of them will most likely be irrelevant in the next 2 years. They don't really have loyal fandoms (which kinda shows at end of the year award shows votings, where most of the time Blackpink, Twice, Dreamcatcher/Red Velvet win against them), it might be that, because woman are the huge majority of the kpop fanbase and they like to buy merch, but at the end of the day they still support their favorite boys more (4th gen boy groups have good fandom support).
In he case of Itzy i think Jyp just don't know what to do with the group anymore, they may have ran out of ideas to experiment with that will in some way appeal to public preference or Midzy's. I think their r issues with the longevity of the group too. In fact I think their recent releases r intentional to push ITZY a bit out of their sound box. If I remember correctly JYP wanted ITZY to be a girl group with an experimental vibe

Perhaps because IVE Leeseo debuted at such a controversial age, people are afraid of backlash if they endorse her for makeup and specific types of clothing? Maybe people like her but don't want to show it because they think it's strange to like a super young underage teen idol? Maybe in a few years, when she's a little more age-appropriate and her visual continues to grow, she'll gain public support and develop her own fanbase who will give her the attention she deserves and the endorsement deals she deserves.
I don't think it's completely because of her age cause hyein of new jeans is even younger than her but she's consistently at the top 15 of individual brand reputation rankings since debut and she's a solo brand ambassador
@@xxxx2914 I agree that it isn't entirely due to her age, but it is a factor. it’s always funny when the concepts of hype and popularity are confused with one another, hype is what you need in order to gain popularity and build a fanbase once you already captured that popularity and have that fanbase there’s really not that much need for hype anymore, yeah a certain comeback might have more hype outside of the fandom but what’s truly important these days is building a bigger and stronger fanbase
I rem the times when itzy was hated bocz they were doing the same concept again and again and now when they try new concepts fans are telling to go back to there old self love concept like i dont understand what the fans want and thats probably why they are loosing hype .... but imo itzy has a pretty steady fanbase who supports them Their situation is similar to twice
The title said "Idols who are losing their hype", but only Leeseo was featured... That's the singular, not the plural of "idol". Also, it's probably because Leeseo is so young, that's why she hasn't gotten a brand contract yet. She will, in due time, since IVE is so popular...
To be honest, ITZY strong point is always in their choreo. Their choreo have always been so good and is the selling point for them (more than their song in my opinion). But it could be double edge sword, cheshire's choreo isnt bad but compare to previous choreo obviously look lacking. So in the end everyone expecting ITZY with explosive choreo all the time because that is what people remember and when they dont get it they disappointed like now. Cheshire isnt a bad song too compare to their other previous songs but yeah i honestly think people listen to their song because of the choreo and mv not the song itself. So I hope JYP give them proper good songs next time
honestly as long as the groups are doing better than their last comeback it means they're getting more support, itzy though should be more taken care of by JYP since without them contributing, they won't be able to pay their rent and actually JYP has been doing this with their artists a lot lately... it's very disappointing
Im not surprised that lesserafim is so popular ,sakura is especially popular in japan just like lisa in thailand ,chaewon ofc a izone and 3 other fresh members
WM has ruined so many opportunities for OMG. For people that don't know OMG has had multiple songs that got them popular not only Nonstop and everytime WM ruined it with long wait through comebacks or weird song/concept choices. Honestly being a miracle has been such a rollercoaster of emotions. They're now on their 8th year and i don't see them having another explosion sadly ... I can only dream
Leeseo - I'm not too worry about her bcos she at least get to stay out of the limelight and she has a lot more room for growth. Oh My Girl - they have been doing individual activities + they've been performing overseas this year. Hopefuly next year they release more music. ITZY - JYP needs to find someone else to produce music for ITZY (and NMIXX too). It appears that he took on too many things and music from many JYP artists appear to suffer as the consequence of managing artists and producing music all at once.
JYP the person isn’t in charge of the sound of the groups anymore. That’s why the divisions were made at JYPE. I think the last group that he specifically played a part in their sound was GOT7
Kpop world is cruel to all these young girls that wish be famous. Afer years training, they have to be scrutinized and bullied by fans, agency, haters which leads to insecurity, mental health issues, weight problems and even loss of life. SHAME on all of us. 😔
I think the problem with itzy is they debuted too early, they debuted right when 3 gen gg was on their peak and got overshadowed. By the time other 4 gen gg debut itzy already feel like a way older group. Plus they need a new producer their song doesn't have a lasting impact
I’ve noticed this a lot with ppl saying things about Itzy…this is a 4th gen gg that is in their 3rd going into their 4th year comparing them to a group that is what 7-8 months? Y’all swear a group doesn’t go through their ups and downs and let’s not forget Itzy has been getting hate since debut each member has had hate literally every year. And even on their TT cuz dalla dalla got hate as well when it first came out. But they always worked hard like literally since debut nonstop and even during COVID because they only had literally one year from their debut to actually promote themselves. Their barely doing a world tour going into their 4th year like COVID really screwed it up for them but even then they are still doing amazing and even now ppl and still comparing them to NEW gg that are also Amazing so isn’t that good? Like you need to compare a gg to Itzy is always on the list and honestly Itzy can make any concept their own tbh just give them a good song/ choreo and eyes are them. But after working so hard then need rest to really get to 100 with their body condition which they won’t get since they have a tour hopefully afterwards 🤷🏻♀️ imo
They have not soo good songs. This is the reason people are hating them, simple. People respect the members and their hard work, it's their songs that are not pleasing
@@illegirl2819 Im sorry but ppl respect the members? Each member has gotten hated on since debut and the group as a whole. Even at the beginning of 2022 yuna specially has gotten hate and Lia “bullying” scandal that was already solved from the year before got brought back. Btw there was no actual bullying and only miss understanding. I don’t think you were really following what was going on. And I don’t mean it in a rude way I’m just stating facts there has been a hate train on Itzy from the beginning. And really sneakers didn’t do well internationally but did great on Korean charts and both albums have been doing good. 1-2 songs in their albums didn’t do well for the gp that’s it 🤷🏻♀️
@@yosh2010 The hate you are talking about is very normal and almost all popular group's idols get that. The pick me girl thing, literally almost every female idol is being attacked with that title for being themselves. Some people really don't want idols to breathe. They are some stupid people. This is more common among 4th gen idols. But the thing is people are hating the whole group 'Itzy' for bad songs. People and even alot of their fans complained about their songs. Their producers are giving them sh*tty songs back to back and that's not good for them. If they won't give them good songs, the group will loose its remaining fame. The girls are really talented and not being treated by the company that well in artistic manner
@@illegirl2819 yeah i get your point of course I agree with the how the 4th gen idols are being treated it’s honestly annoying. But only time can tell this being their 4th year and still have to finish their tour we can only wait for the next comeback and see how they do music wise.
@@illegirl2819 that's just your opinion. Tell that to the 1 million people who bought their albums twice in 2022. I don't think their songs are bad. They are owning every concept they are being given. Also the choreographies this time were relaxed because the members have been suffering from physical injuries like Yeji's Back pain
@@Haegemon Well Newjeans didn't debut for the older fans who are in their 20's. They debuted to be role models of teens their own age and younger. It's a fact that there is a larger child/teen population from 7 - 19 years old who love K-pop than 20+ year olds. Most of Newjeans fans are the same age as the members themselves. K-pop is about gaining the attention of the youth. Whoever gets the teen market is the most popular group. Plus it isn't unordinary to debut young, it's been happening since the start of K-pop, from BOA, Taemin, Krystal, Minzy, Seungri, Hueningkai, Jungkook, SinB, Yuna, Wonyoung, NCT Dream, the list goes on and on about minors debuting. But guess what? They are also the most popular idols because debuting as teens allowed them to take over the teenage market so as they became adults they become very popular.
Netizens are too obsessed with Wonyoung that even Yujin, who is the ace of the group, doesn't even get that many gigs. She showed your MC skills during most of IZ*ONE's variety shows and was really good but Wonyoung gets the invite. So good luck with hyping up the other members. I see this as a 4Minute situation where the company will resign the Annyeongz and not the others as they see them as dead weight.
Abt Kpop girl groups i think they dont long fame, coz mostly they're hyped up by kpublic, that lose interest in one gg when other gg comes. Like first Itzy, then aespa, then ive, gidle, then nj came, now lsf.
Exactly. Idk about itzy because they became successful on their debut but with oh my girl they are literally a hype group that every comeback they losing their popularity because of the new girl group.
For itzy, i hope jype give a good song for them. Thinking that their songs almost have hard choreography is kinda worrying cus they had injured their body.
I stanned itzy from they debuted, from the negative thoughts of 'they must be got carried by Twice' just to be blown away by Dalla Dalla, really happy for them bcs of the success Wannabe like 'man they are so talented', a bit disappointed by In the morning, got another hope on Loco, and after their recent comebacks i felt like Itzy is somewhat declining, they never won awards anymore, and it's sad people also agree, and this video and the comment section confirms it. I will always support them, but man this is sad
Itzy’s physical album sales are really strong and those sales make money. Much more than streaming. Streaming isn’t a great way to measure popularity because of the bots. Their physical album sales are way stronger than many popular groups such as New Jeans. No hate just using them as an example because no one is suggesting that New Jeans isn’t successful. Not sure where the Itzy hate is coming from but I don’t understand why Chanels such as this one don’t even do basic research and just report the statements of anti fans.
Exactly. I like how these channels are measuring success through youtube views and chart positions while they have been completely selling out their world tour AND selling millions in physical albums
Tbh, new jeans views in RUclips not even as big as itzy or even ive, but they are so hype in korea right now, and their recent comeback doing so well in korea.
I don't know about Leeseo's case but honestly the first members that stood out for me in I've were Yujin and Leeseo. I remember I first saw her in the eleven mv in that green two piece outfit and gorgeous headband where she does that hand movement for "odd" and since then she's struck in my head Ps Honestly Wonyoung is mostly talked about not for her supposing "cringe behaviour " and stealing Gaeul's spotlight rather than visuals
No matter what people assume or speculate, itzy is my no. 1 kpop group ever, i’m not a multi stan of kpop, i just love their concept their songs, lyrics, from their title tracks to their bside songs are chef kiss, also they have these natural aura of charm, and the beauty of each girls are different to each other, plus each girls has distinct voices, and the way they dance are graceful and synchronized, plus the personalities are very cool and awesome. All in us indeed.
In 4th gen, I only see (G)I-DLE, aespa, and newjeans as top 3 leading groups... Le sserafim too...I looove antifragile and fearless...so as IVE... (hoping for baemon for their success)
I think the main reason behind Itzy not being as much viewed recently is because they are easing their choreos so that they become tiktok challenges I guess the last time I saw good choreography was probably Loco I just loved it Also Sneakers literally sounds like a commercial ( as many k netizens say) Also it's obvious that their's too much competition in gen 4 previously their was very less competition and Itzy is believed to be the first gen 4 gg but now their are around 4 - 5 more prominent gen 4 girl groups.
I think is just a question of concept like lee serafim is just a group that people like the vibe, they have chic and fun comebacks on the other hand itzy is more on the hand of JYP who keep tying to do thing that HE THINKS the public in general likes, like the girls get like a concept that don't suit IN ANY POINT with the music and melody of the whole thing
I wish this was the case, but in Kpop there’s still the problem of hype stanning, where people just love the current group cause they’re popular then move on when they’re not “shiny and new” anymore. Also groups like Blackpink where even if the songs aren’t good people are going to make it go viral nonetheless
@@j3t617 That's what LOYALTY is. Thing is BLACKPINK have always RELEASED bops thats why 2022 songs were so disappointing even to blinks. But blinks are very loyal & they're going to support regardless. True fans never want to let their favs down. Other kpop groups should do the same. Build a loyal fan base.
Well I don't know why everyone think ITZY losing race to 4gen.. don't get me wrong, new 4 gen : lesserafim, IVE,NewJeans and NMIXX songs is masterpiece... Just like ITZY before, first, second and third albums, ITZY rank skyrocketed on billboard with non 4th generation girl group at that time (I think 🤔).. after that, everything smooth as ever selling albums till Cheshire album...that maybe same goes to others new 4gen right now for first and second albums... And now,new 4th gen from YG entertainment 'baby monster' or '7 Jennie ' came up and let's compare that to ITZY and Others 4gen
For ITZY: I love their WANNABE era and I hope they keep that vibe. It also about choosing the title song for ITZY, I hope SNOWY become the title, and JYP instrumental in it. It can become a trend or bop. I think ITZY will be great this year, i hope they keep their teen crush concept as they slay it. NMIXX as well, they have a cool concept but their musics need to have more versions, because we want to see O.O sounds in different instruments/sounds… it will be amazing they did it. As it more sounds like Mix. If they mix 3 different types of music genres in one music videos, it will sound like AESPA concept as they are well known for smooth transition between each genres/melodies. I hope to see NMIXX sea/ mermaid/ oceanic concept like TANK. It would be a HIT. IVE- I think IVE is too focus on 2 members than the whole group. I like how New Jeans make all their members in the center equally even if it’s not their lines. IVE is a talented group and I hope to see fair lines, and fair screen time. As MissA (Suzy and friends), 4minute (HyunA and friends) and Sistar ( Hyolyn and friends) has been heartbroken to fans. I hope it’s not going to be repeated again.
Jype has old-school promoting strategy, they can't use member's viral moments or popularity to bring even more attention to the group. Instead of promoting members that are known to the general public, they tend to hide them in a basement and promote other members to balance the popularity, It happened both to Ryujin and Hyunjin, both of them had ZERO promotion for their last comebacks and even if the group is gaining more kpop fans that buys the albums, the interest of general public is slowly decreasing, that's why streams are dropping. Even rookie idols from other companies are getting personal insta accounts and BA deals, people see them in advirtsement and know the group by them, JYPe don't let their idols having any idnovidual contracts and BA deals. Hyunjin is the most popular jype and 4th idol, has just been chosen as 2nd most handsome man in the world by TC Candler and broke the record for cbar male album preorders and Jype decided to lock him up, the same they did to Ryujin. Hyunjin had 1 solo schedule in 2022 year while other popular 4th gen male idol from another company had 80 🤷 While other companies promotes groups to general public to make them popular, JYPe just makes money from them and keep them in kpop stans circle. They don't want their idols and groups to be popular. They want to make money out of them untill they lost their popularity and they would be forced to resign the contract because they would have no other choice. They already did this to Twice, at least GOT7 was smarter and escaped.
Leeseo still so young she'll definitely be the most popular after wonyoung and yujin, Korean fans already like her alot once she turn 19 or 20 she'll start getting more popular bc many ppl don't like stanning minors so her time will come! I don't worry abt her since even wonyoung didn't reach her peak popularity in izone as maknae she reached the peak at ive when she older
I believe Itzy is still famous, it just that their latest released songs are not that catchy to general public compared to their previous songs like wannabe, not shy, mafia in the morning and etc.
If itzy stop using a childish sounding concept, they’ll really flourish. Their sound hasn’t matured at all and idk why🫤 it’s very stagnant atm. If they keep this up Le sserafim will take their crown as the best 4th gen performers and it’s already slipping off their heads because Le sserafim are insanely good!
For ITZY do u expect them to be in the same concept for how many years and plus obviously Groups will have rivals and don't blame JYP and when u said Cheshire it's to underwhelming Try singing Cheshire live without being Tired the song is so high that even Lilly (Nmixx) said it's to high don't blame them MIDZY WILL ALWAYS SUPPORT THEM
At this point everyone uses “flopping” for EVERYTHING?!? use it if you understand the term like?! Itzy never “flopped” they changed concepts and the “flop” comebacks they had, has been their top selling albums and having amazing RUclips views. They have been trending cus of different occasions. And yes people want Dalla dalla era back, but no one can remake those songs…just let that sink in. JYP isn’t giving them the BEST path, but they’re not irrelevant so stop using the word “fLopPiNg” for every single group.
I really want to know about Red velvet's situation.i am really feeling that they have lost their popularity completely specially after Irene's controversy.
Another thing is that le sserafim is really coming for itzys crown for best performance, like let's be realistic if it's performance itzy still has it but stage presence will likely go to le sserafim because they look like they enjog it and no member is lacking and the fact that anybody can be center and each member gets their time, and also le sserafim is verrrryyyyyyy versatile in this shirt period of debut
consistency is key. if they just kept on with their original concept i believe itzy wouldnt be flopping. jyp should stop listening to whining netizens and keep doing what they originally excelled at. there will ALWAYS be complaints.
Maybe ITZY and OH MY GIRL should either go back to their roots (Dalla Dalla, innocent concept) or embrace styles that completely new in KPop. Maybe. It's up to their creative teams.
i think it's ok for leeseo to have not much of individual promotions/activities for now because she's still young. it might affect her health badly, and ain't she just much younger than other ive members? i think there are policies that has to be adhered according her age and working period. i also think she's promoted well in their latest comeback because she've gotten more singing lines, than their main vocalist, and fair screen time in their title track. she's charming, adorable, and young. she's got more room for improvement and opportunities. i hope straship will handle her well in the future.
RUclips views comparisons among Itzy songs make not sense because RUclips had changed the views counting algorithm since the release of Dalla Dalla (in order to give numbers closer to real unique viewers).
itzy are only growing, they never changed their concept, just different looks and stories(so it’ll be more interesting for fans) but the same concept of loving yourself no matter what. people don’t seem to get that and are saying they r losing popularity because they didn’t like one comeback from them. y’all hate ggs that much?😭bgs be putting the worst songs and having the lowest charts but y’all still say nothing abt them
ok so this video made me laugh a bit. Please do a bit of actual research before making assumptions on whether a group is losing popularity or not. ITZY has not lost popularity. They have built a stable fanbase and added onto it in the last 3 years. This is evident from the fact that both their previous album (Checkmate) and this album (Cheshire) have sold 1 million copies each. This made them the 2nd ever girl group to do so, after Blackpink. RUclips Views and Chart Positions are not actual indicators of a group's success. ITZY is still the most commercially successful group in the 4th generation. ITZY's performances this year were a bit easier this year because of the health of their members like Yeji's back pain and Chaeryeong's exhaustion. This does not mean they performed any less with what they offered Another thing to point is that comparing the hype of a recently debuted group like Ive or Le Sserafim doesn't really make sense. These groups, first of all, didn't go through the surviving through COVID-19 phase like other older 4th gen groups (like Everglow, ITZY, G-Idle) and also the previous careers of the members of these groups also pulled a bit of their old fanbases into the hype. The hype of newly debuted groups is short lived and it's only stability and album sales that lets them be survive in the market. Now to the topic of the concepts of ITZY this year: People have had problems with the concepts of Twice in the beginning too. They called it "overly cute" and "another group that creates Bubblegum Pop". In the same way, when ITZY debuted with their teen crush concept, people like you and others in the comments complained that "this girl crush theme and self love concept has been overused" and "we want something new". This was also shown in their album sales numbers. Although ITZY was charting high and getting lots of youtube views, people weren't buying their albums. With the new changes brought in into the discography of ITZY with the "love" theme, JYP saved the group from going into a commercial failure. ITZY's previous album Checkmate (feature song Sneakers) sold 2.3 times more copies than their previous album (You can see this trend on their Wikipedia Discography page yourself). ITZY also built a more stable fanbase with these songs but the people who were always complaining are still complaining. The hilarious part about all this complaining is that these people haven't even heard of ITZY's any other songs than their title songs which have an MV. They still view ITZY as a group that only does performances (don't get me wrong that's their strong point and they kill them). ITZY'S discography is very vast and full of songs from different genres. Just another thing i wanted to say, if you ever go to an ITZY concert physically, you will also get to feel that even their least liked songs (like Sneakers) is very very engaging and they + the audience rock the performance TLDR; ITZY's popularity is going nowhere. It's just going to increase more and more from now on
Another thing i wanted to add is that ITZY doesn't have much artistic freedom right now. JYPE only allows groups to have such freedom after 3 years of debut so guess what? This is the year! ITZY will be making the songs that they want to create themselves and various midzies are ready to support them. Another thing, Cheshire is my 2nd favourite song by ITZY after Loco and i think JYP has done well enough with these 2 releases and the concept switch
@@fatimaalhassan1720 yeah idk where this assumption came from. I am a fearnot and midzy. Le Sserafim has a more "i am unbreakable" kind of energy (and btw this is mostly just their title songs for albums. Their b-sides are never on the theme of the title track but rather all are from different genres) whereas ITZY's past concepts have not been any of that. The concept of ITZY, in the beginning, was to portray each member individually as their own person (you can see this in their MVs for Dalla Dalla, Not Shy, Wannabe and their parts distribution). The part where JYP did wrong was where they made the position of each member a bit vague in the group. ITZY shines as a group made up of people with 5 different personalities.
I'll tell you what, I used to search for Itzy's performances at music shows in RUclips the very next day after a music show was aired, bc they were and probably still are amazing. Several music shows already passed in Korea and I still haven't seen an Itzy performance, bc I haven't searched for it 😩 and I know for a fact they were performing at some. I personally lost the hype for them, mainly bc I don't vibe with their latest comebacks. Maybe I'll vibe with the next one.
Though they are similar, can you point out which is the difference between ITZY and LESSERAFIM's concept? 👀
I dont think they are similar however itzys concept is a lot more teen crush and childish while le sserafim's concept is a lot more mature and chic
The only similarity I see in both of them is performance, both gives strong performance and have hard choreography

(Mind i add that singing about loving yourself but also following those strict beauty standards they are criticizing is quite cringe) Especially after seeing New Jeans - they’re like the new, fresh sound teenager concept which I LOVE and itzy should find one specific sound or concept that just suits them instead of just jumping around or at least get that distinctive middle ground (like red velvet’s double concept but it always feels like red velvet no matter what) they’re just missing something with their music direction… at least that’s my opinion too
I think that Itzy and Nmixx needs to exchange songs and concepts... LOL
@@slurp4495 yes i agree I'm really confused how can they go from wannabe to something like boys like you??? I really loved their teen crush and love myself concept. Wtf is jyp doing 💀

Ikr they need to step their game up and atleast comeback twice a year because now people can consider them "not popular enough" to only have one comeback every year.

@@capncrunch2338 facts
@@capncrunch2338 thats what i thought
@@capncrunch2338 Yeah that's because now K-pop groups rely on visuals rather than music, which is why fans flock because they want to explore new members and find a new person to crush on. It won't happen to Bigbang or BTS because they are groups known for their unique music styles so fans are loyal. Also these new groups are finding it hard to stabilise their position in the industry. None of them really stand out.
New Jeans have an awesome discography and it seems people are appreciating their music and style, not just the visuals. People are getting smarter now and prefer good music over just visuals and sick choreos. Just saying.
“Chesire's choreography is underwhelmed“
Maybe you have to consider the fact that their vocals were much higher for this comeback.
I thought lily said that to be polite
Well, only Yeji and Lia are singing the choruses (I think, I didn't bother to hear the song after it came out again.) and Yeji sounds like she's straining/screaming, thankfully Lia's softer voice kinda saved it for me. I think Chaeryeong should get to sing a chorus, her voice has a nice tone and she can handle it pretty well, as long as the song isn't too high.

Well said❤
You said it with itzy, their strength has been great choreo and catchy hooks.
I think it’s that so many groups are coming out that they don’t have time for older groups
It is just showing self-worth.
oh my girl have a lot of individual activities, and pretty much a bunch of them are well-known faces in variety shows. sunghee and mimi particularly, but also arin is doing well on her drama
The truth Arin is the only member that is well known by korean general public. Mimi had a little recognition late last year because of variety show.

@@xxxx2914
I agree that it isn't entirely due to her age, but it is a factor. I believe IVE Leeseo was associated with SM Entertainment's Kids Model 1st Generation so she's simply seen and categorized as a child in comparison to other idols her age. She was also the first to spark controversy for her young age so she will have to carry on with that reputation for a while. Everyone who debuted young after her was unaffected because she was an example they followed, so she basically took the blame for everything. Her concept, or should I say the way she holds herself, is that of a baby, which may not yet fit the mature concept that I see New Jeans being capable of doing. Furthermore, New Jeans Hyein is only one example, and she was well-known prior to her debut in the RUclips series Pocket TV. People were able to see her grow, develop, and mature as she continued to create content, so they don't see her as a child as much as they do with IVE Leeseo. Endorsers and sponsors can see what New Jeans Hyein was capable of doing for their brand, as opposed to IVE Leeseo, who hasn't had the opportunity to showcase herself other than being a child model. It doesn't help that her group IVE has other members who are more well-known. Also when it comes to hitting high notes, IVE Leeseo has yet to develop her singing voice in comparison to the other members. She's still studying and in school, so I don't think she has much free time to travel between endorsement deals anyways, but I think she'll get there with time.

1. Hyein was also a child model.
2. Leeseo wasn’t the first to spark controversy for debuting young. It’s been happening for a while now. Here’s a few examples (using int’l age), BOA debuted solo at 13, Bae Suzy debuted in Miss A at 15, Yeri debuted in Red Velvet at 16, and Wonyoung debuted in Iz*one at 14.
3. NewJeans (and other newer groups) also got a load of hate because of debuting at their young age, so I don’t know where you got the idea that Leeseo’s the only one that gets hate for her age.
4. Cute concepts/ personalities don’t cause brands/magazines to stir away from certain idols. If I’m not mistaken, chuu of loona has the most solo work/endorsement among loona members.
5. MY ONLY POINT: age isn’t the determining factor for Leeseo’s lack of solo work.
@@xxxx2914 1. Yes, New Jeans Hyein was a child model but she was well-known prior to her debut. She was in the RUclips series Pocket TV and with RUclips titles like Korean Girl's Life to Become a K-pop Idol│VLOG and doing Kpop covers and contests, we knew what direction she was heading careerwise. People were not surprised she took that route instead they were able to see her grow, develop, and mature as she continued to create content, so they don't see her as a child as much as they do with IVE Leeseo. Endorsers and sponsors can see what New Jeans Hyein could do for their brand in the future through Pocket TV analytics from specific videos she participated in as opposed to IVE Leeseo, who has yet to have the opportunity to showcase herself other than being a child model. That's the main difference; New Jeans Hyein has that going for her since the public knows her better, which is good.
2. I didn't follow Kpop news until recently but I'm referring to 4th gen debuts.
3. I knew it was a big deal because I kept seeing IVE Leeseo's name on drama channels. I never said IVE Leeseo’s the only one that gets hate for her age. I said she was the first to spark controversy in a while. Everyone who debuted young after her was not as affected as she was because she was a controversial example that they looked up to, so she basically took the blame for the 4th gen debuting at such a young age. They were more lenient towards other groups debuting after IVE because debuting young in the 4th gen already existed since IVE debuted before New Jeans. However, if YG's new girl group BABYMONSTER debuts a member younger than 14 years old, or if the entire group consists of only underage members, that in itself sparks another controversy, a bigger controversy than IVE Leeseo's or New Jeans Hyein's debut, but what can we expect from this new girl group given that their group title name contains the word BABY. People are upset because they are rumored to be making their debut with a 13-year-old member. If YG allegedly wanted them to debut in 2021 as rumored before it was pushed back to 2023, this alleged 13-year-old would have been only 11 years old at the time of debut.
4. Yea but Chuu debuted at the age of 18 I believe but I'm not sure because of the Korean age system. That's more normal compared to IVE Leeseo and New Jeans Hyein who both debuted at the age of 14. We're talking about a four-year age gap here.
5. MY ONLY POINT: I know age isn't the determining factor for IVE Leeseo's lack of solo work. Read my last reply, In the first sentence I even said I agreed with you, I said that it isn't entirely due to her age, but it is A FACTOR (aka one of the many factors it could be). I even tried to point out other reasons like her group IVE has other members who are more well-known and established.

2. The examples I gave are girls from 1st-4th gen to show that it’s been an ongoing issue. Wonyoung herself caused controversy for appearing in PD48 because of her age.
3. Leeseo didn’t take blame for anything. YOU just have that perception because YOU see her content all the time, but for me I also constantly see the NJ hate train caused by their age. Maybe YOU don’t see it but it’s always there in my/others SNS pages.

Entertainment is filled w/ups & downs for artists. Just because you have a down moment doesn't mean you're out.
People don't stay with any one group for very long if they have too many options.
There are like many groups with the same concept, +new debut groups, i like new jeans tho
it’s always funny when the concepts of hype and popularity are confused with one another, hype is what you need in order to gain popularity and build a fanbase once you already captured that popularity and have that fanbase there’s really not that much need for hype anymore, yeah a certain comeback might have more hype outside of the fandom but what’s truly important these days is building a bigger and stronger fanbase
They are amazing it’s just the companies wasting their talents
well I don't think ITZY are losing their popularity Their is nothing wrong if they alternate their concept...
Thats sad some groups looseing popularity some groups gaining lot of popularity
WM has ruined so many opportunities for OMG. For people that don't know OMG has had multiple songs that got them popular not only Nonstop and everytime WM ruined it with long wait through comebacks or weird song/concept choices. Honestly being a miracle has been such a rollercoaster of emotions. They're now on their 8th year and i don't see them having another explosion sadly ... I can only dream
It's makes me sad to not hear about them when they are one of my favorites groups
I agree with leeseo thoo, she used to be the front of my mind, but nowadays I forgot about her, we need content for heer
Kpop world is cruel to all these young girls that wish be famous. Afer years training, they have to be scrutinized and bullied by fans, agency, haters which leads to insecurity, mental health issues, weight problems and even loss of life. SHAME on all of us. 😔
Mostly for some groups it's easy to reach fame if one of their song became popular but it's hard to maintain it.
there is this quote i say these days after learning about the sm and hybe thing. it goes " it they lose the hype, send them to hybe". 😇
Leeseo is only 15 years old, she hasn't even hit her prime years yet. Wait till she turns 18 - 24 years old she'll probably become the center of IVE.
New Jeans caused a ruckus because they debuted too young, but now you said, it doesn't seem out of the ordinary.
New Jeans is a new group so ofc their numbers won’t be like Itzy. Just wait a little.
I remember I first saw her in the eleven mv in that green two piece outfit and gorgeous headband where she does that hand movement for "odd" and since then she's struck in my head
Ps Honestly Wonyoung is mostly talked about not for her supposing "cringe behaviour " and stealing Gaeul's spotlight rather than visuals
“stealing gaeul’s spotlight” 😆 i think that’s just one of in her long laundry list of scandals. personally they seem to get a long fine enough.
Wonyoung doesn't steal the spotlight, she IS the spotlight. Without her, many achievements wouldn't even be made for IVE.
@@sumysim3245 yup that's why I said "supposing " It's public opinion
No matter what people assume or speculate, itzy is my no. 1 kpop group ever, i’m not a multi stan of kpop, i just love their concept their songs, lyrics, from their title tracks to their bside songs are chef kiss, also they have these natural aura of charm, and the beauty of each girls are different to each other, plus each girls has distinct voices, and the way they dance are graceful and synchronized, plus the personalities are very cool and awesome. All in us indeed.
For some reason i had a dream where itzy left jyp and joined yg and when i woke up i think it still happened until i realized they didnt even left JYP
If that was the case then we’d never get another Itzy comeback
Oh My Girl is lucky to last as long as they did. They come from a small agency and they almost disbanded during Coloring Book
In 4th gen, I only see (G)I-DLE, aespa, and newjeans as top 3 leading groups...
Le sserafim too...I looove antifragile and fearless...so as IVE...
(hoping for baemon for their success)
I think the main reason behind Itzy not being as much viewed recently is because they are easing their choreos so that they become tiktok challenges
I guess the last time I saw good choreography was probably Loco I just loved it
Also Sneakers literally sounds like a commercial ( as many k netizens say)
Also it's obvious that their's too much competition in gen 4 previously their was very less competition and Itzy is believed to be the first gen 4 gg but now their are around 4 - 5 more prominent gen 4 girl groups.
Perfect explanation 👍
I think the reason is simply the song itself. Their producers need to open their eyes
@@illegirl2819 yep their music is definitely going downhill
I think is just a question of concept like lee serafim is just a group that people like the vibe, they have chic and fun comebacks on the other hand itzy is more on the hand of JYP who keep tying to do thing that HE THINKS the public in general likes, like the girls get like a concept that don't suit IN ANY POINT with the music and melody of the whole thing
JYP the person isn’t even in charge of Itzy. It’s Division 2 and their creative team. It’s not one man running the show over there.
No matter how talented these groups are, people will always look for groups with great songs.
This!
There’s just way too many ggs in the market and numerous new ggs come out every year.
Wtf why is ive here 💀💀
its leeseo, not ive.
Ikr and yes twicepink is the best gg
Leeseo still so young she'll definitely be the most popular after wonyoung and yujin, Korean fans already like her alot once she turn 19 or 20 she'll start getting more popular bc many ppl don't like stanning minors so her time will come! I don't worry abt her since even wonyoung didn't reach her peak popularity in izone as maknae she reached the peak at ive when she older
Itzy's chesire album sales tells a different story
I believe Itzy is still famous, it just that their latest released songs are not that catchy to general public compared to their previous songs like wannabe, not shy, mafia in the morning and etc.
If itzy stop using a childish sounding concept, they’ll really flourish. Their sound hasn’t matured at all and idk why🫤 it’s very stagnant atm. If they keep this up Le sserafim will take their crown as the best 4th gen performers and it’s already slipping off their heads because Le sserafim are insanely good!
Both Itsy and Oh My Girl it comes down to one thing: songwriting. Not the girls fault, but it seems the material isn’t there.
For ITZY do u expect them to be in the same concept for how many years and plus obviously Groups will have rivals and don't blame JYP and when u said Cheshire it's to underwhelming Try singing Cheshire live without being Tired the song is so high that even Lilly (Nmixx) said it's to high don't blame them MIDZY WILL ALWAYS SUPPORT THEM
You do realize that a song being hard to sing doesn't make it good right?
A song being hard, doesn’t make it good😅
At this point everyone uses “flopping” for EVERYTHING?!? use it if you understand the term like?!
I kinda miss itzy's old concept 😭
Another thing is that le sserafim is really coming for itzys crown for best performance, like let's be realistic if it's performance itzy still has it but stage presence will likely go to le sserafim because they look like they enjog it and no member is lacking and the fact that anybody can be center and each member gets their time, and also le sserafim is verrrryyyyyyy versatile in this shirt period of debut
I just hope STAYC saves kpop
consistency is key. if they just kept on with their original concept i believe itzy wouldnt be flopping. jyp should stop listening to whining netizens and keep doing what they originally excelled at. there will ALWAYS be complaints.
exactly and when they listen it’s always “the previous comeback was better” you can never win with them
Maybe ITZY and OH MY GIRL should either go back to their roots (Dalla Dalla, innocent concept) or embrace styles that completely new in KPop.
You forgot to mention Everglow.
itzy are only growing, they never changed their concept, just different looks and stories(so it’ll be more interesting for fans) but the same concept of loving yourself no matter what. people don’t seem to get that and are saying they r losing popularity because they didn’t like one comeback from them. y’all hate ggs that much?😭bgs be putting the worst songs and having the lowest charts but y’all still say nothing abt them
ok so this video made me laugh a bit.
This does not mean they performed any less with what they offered
Another thing to point is that comparing the hype of a recently debuted group like Ive or Le Sserafim doesn't really make sense.
Now to the topic of the concepts of ITZY this year:
People have had problems with the concepts of Twice in the beginning too.
Just another thing i wanted to say, if you ever go to an ITZY concert physically, you will also get to feel that even their least liked songs (like Sneakers) is very very engaging and they + the audience rock the performance
TLDR; ITZY's popularity is going nowhere.
Another thing itzy and le sserafim don't have the same concept 😭
Maybe I'll vibe with the next one.
they didn't perform at that many this year because of their world tour
When ITZY comeback with sneakers, im like "really? " This song its not fit them, it's like a new group sounds
