I had never heard of perilla leaves so researched them. Since they are not available where I live, I plan to make these using the closest thing we have: grape leaves. They don’t taste like perilla but are the right shape. It said that perilla tastes like a cross between mint and basil. Maybe I can include a little fresh mint and basil to get the flavor. The fried leaves are the prettiest thing I’ve ever seen fried! 😊

In India,tamil nadu we prepare similar dish called bhajji....but we dip in besan flour....we use raw banana(green banana)(sliced),potato,eggplant,chilli,and this leaf ....i have tried everything...my fav is raw banana and chilli one💕✨
