No. The texture is completely different. And great french fries are tripple fried. These are similar to shoestring fries but even finer. They would have their own texture very different than normal french fries.

Cool idea! I might go and try to experiment with a sweet potato and instead of a cheese dipping sauce, maybe make a brown sugar and cinnamon dip. Would be a cool and creative take on sweet potato casserole for Thanksgiving/Christmas.
I did make it! Was really good, but I may try to increase the amount of time for the salt to pull more water out next time so it can be a bit more crispy after frying. I followed the recipe in this video. I just added cinnamon and a bit of pumpkin pie spice to the cornstarch. After I took them out, I coated them with a brown sugar glaze using a basting brush. The glaze itself was literally just brown sugar and a bit of butter mixed and melted in a pan until it had the consistency of honey. I'd like to find a way to incorporate marshmallows to it, but IDK how I'd do that to ensure an even coating without putting too much in and it turning out to be too sweet. Perhaps I could put a tiny bit of that marshmallow cream that comes in a jar and mix it with the brown sugar glaze before I coat the potatoes. Overall, I really liked it. There's plenty of ways you can get creative using different spices and whatnot for this recipe and it will still probably turn out just fine. If you end up making it, let me know how it went. Didn't use marshmallows since I wasn't too sure how I could incorporate them without it turning into a giant mess. I told the other person I replied to that I might try using that marshmallow creme you get in jar and adding that to my brown sugar glaze before coating the potatoes. I agree! I love the use of potato starch. I find that Asian cooking has introduced us to ingredients and gadgets that make for better texture and easier prep.
I like many of the techniques used in this recipe. I'm a vegan and I try to cook very healthy meals. I use only a little salt, but lots of other seasonings. I would cook this dish in my air fryer. I avoid all saturated fats (I do eat the healthy fats (Monounsaturated fat and polyunsaturated fat). Our bodies need some fat, but not saturated fat. I really like your technique for cutting.
If you're going to make potato gratin, or pommes dauphinoise with the leftovers, use a mandolin to shave the potatoes to the correct size, then store the off-cuts in water with just a tiny bit of salt. Stored in water, sliced or chipped potatoes will last up to a week at room temperature

No. The texture is completely different. And great french fries are tripple fried. These are similar to shoestring fries but even finer. They would have their own texture very different than normal french fries.

Cool idea! I might go and try to experiment with a sweet potato and instead of a cheese dipping sauce, maybe make a brown sugar and cinnamon dip. Would be a cool and creative take on sweet potato casserole for Thanksgiving/Christmas.

So, how did it work? Sounded yummy; was it?
I did make it! Was really good, but I may try to increase the amount of time for the salt to pull more water out next time so it can be a bit more crispy after frying. I followed the recipe in this video. I just added cinnamon and a bit of pumpkin pie spice to the cornstarch.
After I took them out, I coated them with a brown sugar glaze using a basting brush. The glaze itself was literally just brown sugar and a bit of butter mixed and melted in a pan until it had the consistency of honey.
I'd like to find a way to incorporate marshmallows to it, but IDK how I'd do that to ensure an even coating without putting too much in and it turning out to be too sweet. Perhaps I could put a tiny bit of that marshmallow cream that comes in a jar and mix it with the brown sugar glaze before I coat the potatoes.
Overall, I really liked it. There's plenty of ways you can get creative using different spices and whatnot for this recipe and it will still probably turn out just fine. If you end up making it, let me know how it went. Good luck!@@loraleewellington9064
Didn't use marshmallows since I wasn't too sure how I could incorporate them without it turning into a giant mess. I told the other person I replied to that I might try using that marshmallow creme you get in jar and adding that to my brown sugar glaze before coating the potatoes. Sounds like it could work and be pretty good. @@gerdsfargen6687

По-моему, они похожи на милые золотистые хризантемы)) Звучит очень вкусно, но я вряд ли стану это готовить: слишком много этапов и сложностей, хоть с такими умелыми руками и кажется, что просто. Но я бы хотела попробовать.
Мне кажется, такие "цветы" прекрасно подойдут к блюдам на праздничный стол. А на каждый день конечно проще просто пожарить картошку. 😊

I like many of the techniques used in this recipe. I'm a vegan and I try to cook very healthy meals. I use only a little salt, but lots of other seasonings. I would cook this dish in my air fryer. I avoid all saturated fats (I do eat the healthy fats (Monounsaturated fat and polyunsaturated fat). Our bodies need some fat, but not saturated fat. I really like your technique for cutting.

If you're going to make potato gratin, or pommes dauphinoise with the leftovers, use a mandolin to shave the potatoes to the correct size, then store the off-cuts in water with just a tiny bit of salt. Stored in water, sliced or chipped potatoes will last up to a week at room temperature

@@Ираида-о5м, лишняя соль вымывается спокойно. Картошку в соли даже в варят, и она её особо в себя не берёт. Картофель не из таких «впитывающих» продуктов.
