this is probably the best bassist compilation out there, because it truly showcases the incredible range the bass guitar can achieve! so many unique approaches to the instrument that are not seen in the mainstream! GREAT MUSICIANS!
I like the range of bizarre situations that they all play in, ranging from bedrooms with Zelda posters, to outside by the wood pile, to entombed in a spartan room with no belongings, to the garage/workshop. Also, some should be on "got facial emotions" or a similar video for gurning competitions and the display of extreme emotions exclusively via the face! Very entertaining, thanks
Thank you for including me in this awesome compilation, such a unique group of musicians! Love the channel and all that you contribute to the bass community!
Quintin Berry!!! YAY!!! Could listen to him for hours! His technique is not of this world, yet his chops are as funky & sugar sweet as it gets. Look him up people, he deserves all the recognition. On another note, that mate with the Nic Cage pillows... the bass player we never knew we needed.
I know I'm gonna get a lot of haters for this, but to my mind, the bass guitar is an ensemble instrument. Can't beat locking in with a great drummer, and supporting the rest of the the band. Although I 100 per cent admire the dedication these guys have put into their craft, and of course their musicianship, it says to me 'does not play well with others'! Be gentle with me!!!
I'm glad you like it. the song is called smong! here is the link to the album: leitnerjoe.bandcamp.com/album/smong and here is the video: ruclips.net/video/GlAe6JSBVw0/видео.html
That must have taken forever to choose the videos and to edit there is so many talented musicians out there no other instrument has ever come so far and fast in such little time the bassist is the unsung hero of any band and never receiving the appreciation for their contribution in the band great work Bass World.
man I feel you. when I get to a point where I think that I'm an okay player I watch one of these videos and that puts me right back in my little hole. : /
So sit your ass down and practice so we can see you on one of these one day. If anything these videos should be inspiration not try and turn you away. They have "chops" cause they put the time in and practiced. Do the same you'll get it too.
All of these guys have probably been playing 7+ years at least. Being all military about it and practicing for hours a day will not get you this good in an instant. It’s a process.

BassTheWorld.com Gregor, love the channel! These ‘Got Bass Chops’ videos are the best!! Keep up the great work!! Bass das weld!!!
2:28 Bro had to sell all his furniture to afford that bass
this is probably the best bassist compilation out there, because it truly showcases the incredible range the bass guitar can achieve! so many unique approaches to the instrument that are not seen in the mainstream! GREAT MUSICIANS!
I liked the one with nothing but pure groove (1:44). The least complex ones are the most satisfying to the ear. Tends to be that way :)
Thank you very much man! That was the idea :)
in the pocket!
I think Joe Dart would agree and I do too.
What a sound too!
That was my favorite as well!
i'm really happy to became one of the bass players among brilliant participants!
Hey Sujong, great playing mate, what is that mini bass you were playing there, is it a custom?
@@phillipstewart5537 yeah it's a customized bass since i love trip abroad i ordered it in order to carry on a plane
@@SujongPark It's a wing bass, no?
Sebastian Oliver no it looks like similar but different from wing bass i ordered it to one of the custom shops:)
..get some bass chops.
So happy that I got to contribute, thank for all that you do for the bass community, Gregor!
Patrick Hunter ehehehehehe pp
Aaron Frazier Same here.
you did great man! always do!
You sounded really great like always
Yes ! I'm so glad to appear here with so many other good bassists ! Congrats everyone !
Luke Capon's section was unreal. Lining up the last two slaps with the horn section really added a nice touch.
Those Nicolas Cage pillows!! 🤣🤣
Ikr ,😂😂
same. i died lol'ing 😆😆
I had to watch his section 4 times...
I couldn't hear the bass first two times b/c of the pillows
and then once b/c of the animal pajamas :))
0:57 when you skipped the tutorial for slapping but you nailed it anyways
Thank you for including me in this awesome compilation, such a unique group of musicians! Love the channel and all that you contribute to the bass community!
The rest of the Internet is waiting for the next season of Game of thrones, but we were waiting for Bass Chops 3
4:47 anthony fantano
Quintin Berry!!! YAY!!! Could listen to him for hours! His technique is not of this world, yet his chops are as funky & sugar sweet as it gets. Look him up people, he deserves all the recognition.
On another note, that mate with the Nic Cage pillows... the bass player we never knew we needed.
This is exactly the kind of video I needed to get me through the day. Thank you Bass Chops 3!!
0:57
Excuse me, but *what?!*
LOL right I legit gawked at that clip in amazement
Thats how you play real slap
He's killer man. I see him every time I go to NAMM and he's just jamming. Always wanted to talk to him. Wonder why he plays like that.
he skipped the tutorial
Quentin Berry makes slap bass cool again.
3:16 give me that jaco grooveeee
not to be insensitive, but is that guy blind or just closing his eyes?
the way he moves his eyes is freaking me out
dawg
@@hammies.the funk is too powerfull in him,he has to let it out somehow
Thank you BassTheWorld for making this happen!! And hello to all you badace bassists out there!!!
Paul Bass you played really well, man
3:55 guys got the George Fischer neck lol
Yeah that string spacing does seem generous. :P
@@M2Mil7er he looks like riff raff combined with corpsegrinder lol
Much gratis to the first artist on his Fretless. Fabulous.
Thanks!
Second that. I loved the Mick Karn influence (even if unintentional)
Bass Chops 4
So amazing to see qunitin berry again! I loved him with the ugli stick!
2:45 is my man
Thump, tap and harmony.
Thank you man!
Quintin Berry unquestionable king of chops 3
2:03 Nice Chinese Musicman
Second dude absolutely killed it.
All of these are incredibly good but I just really like the simplicity and groove of Igor De Ferran’s contribution (1:44).
3:21 the liccc
2:43 Daaamn this dude has groove
Thanks man!
Leitnerjoe, that bass line was like something straight off a Mick Karn record lol
;-)
how does one become apart of a bass chops video?
$$$$$$$$$$
Seth Burke several months ago there was announcement for got bass chops3 contest on this channel
@@SujongPark Guess I missed it! Thanks for letting me know.
Abandon taste and blow $5,000 on an 'extreme' custom
Own either a fender/musicman or buy a pricey boutique bass
Bless, we finally got a third one. Lots of amazing talents on display here!
The 3:18 Robert Anthony was the grooviest...not sure why his clip was so short. Play more of his groove!
I know I'm gonna get a lot of haters for this, but to my mind, the bass guitar is an ensemble instrument. Can't beat locking in with a great drummer, and supporting the rest of the the band. this turned out really nice! I'm happy for everybody who made it in here and @Sujong Park: what a perfect transition Gregor found here right? ^^
Timo Rinker yeap i just want to say thanks to gregor for this great job
The last two guys, what are they doing? I'm literally feeling bad after hearing that
ruclips.net/video/XP5YFYnOlNU/видео.html
Sujong Park! Glad to see korean player
1:14 looks like if pewdiepie made a bass
IT’S HERE BABY
I imagine Fender, Musicman and Sandberg are very happy about this.
dude its like luke capon can cure depression
bass players are weird man
Andy Holmes discernible notes are overrated amirite
no u
Andy Holmes Yes! Yes we are indeed!!
Weird is good
We will take this as a compliment, of course!
Holy stingrays un this chop
i love that long hair klay thompson playing a white sire hahaha
2:59 Cr1tikal plays bass? I guess 2019 Guy was meant to be, huh?
i guess that does look like him a little bit
the first guy's collection is top notch
.. was that Mohini Day at the end there?..😂😂😂
Joyce Sanders ruclips.net/video/XP5YFYnOlNU/видео.html
Damn, watching these videos is always so humbling
makes me fired up to practice!
1st dude has A Carl Thomson Rainbow bass on his wall - Holy Shit!!!
Not an original tho
ahh, another one of these. let me just lay back and listen to this for the rest of the night
Sehr cool, mein Fav ist Leitnerjoe und Quintin Berry 😎👍
Danke schön!
They got nice chops, this is the third installment.
This motivates me to practise more. Thumbs up!
Ben Belmonte gets 10 cool points for the Zelda shirt and poster.
1:13 that's one PewDiePie of a bass.
Fuck yes, Patrick!
And my absolute favourite amongst a veritable ocean of bass brilliance was the groove bomb dropped by Igor de Ferran 🤯 🤩
Thank you so much!!
I agree... not over-complicated, but phat and groovy, deep in the pocket and you'd dance all night to it.... awww yeah
I notice jazz bass stand out the most
The dudes were shredding .
Can someone tell me what the first piece of music is? it blows my mind
It was written for this video
I'm glad you like it. the song is called smong! here is the link to the album:

and here is the video: ruclips.net/video/GlAe6JSBVw0/видео.html
@0:50... the perfect bass hipster, we got it, thank God !
Hey Mr. Berry …so cool :-)
I'm beginning to think Paul Brackens has somehow absorbed a small amount of Cliff Burton's spirit into his fingers.
reality check...checked! back to practice ;-)
Bwahahahaha Nick cage bass case!!
Claypool's presence looms large in this episode in many of the entries. Interesting to see the development of those ideas.
igor and the unicorn guy with the nicolas cage pilows... in da pocket !
@Lukethebasscatcapon Your entry was the bombest. Wish I can find more if your stuff. I’ve already listened to a lot of your RUclips channel.
My like is for Quintin Berry
fun video, lots of talented people
great video :)
Oi Oi! I was believing you! Damn!
Luke Capon! 👏👏
something is gonna burn here, i like all basses you're playing
Bassist 2# : Luke Capon is the coolest lick. What the name of the song please??
That must have taken forever to choose the videos and to edit there is so many talented musicians out there no other instrument has ever come so far and fast in such little time the bassist is the unsung hero of any band and never receiving the appreciation for their contribution in the band great work Bass World.
Anyone know what kind of bass Vincent Themba Goritzki is playing at 1:14? It is soooo cool!!
That’s a California TM by Sandberg
How can I get the possibility to join in?
LUKE CAPON is very Good basse playeur
1:37 me if I EVER HIT THE LOTTERY JACKPOT.
Can someone tell me what that mini bass is called at 2:13?
Jarek Waszczyszyn's part is simply amazing.
Thanks ❤️

If it’s a stupid idea and it works, it’s not stupid

Tm5 red zebra Sandberg
04:47 Holy shit, for a second i thought that was Anthony Fantano

0:57 Yooo! I saw this dude at NAMM, that’s so sick
Amazing
Nothing like a stingray bass. Period
these videos are just constant reminders for me that i do not, indeed, have bass chops

So many stingrays haha.
Finally Patrick hunter!
I wish it could be a periodic bass jam. Once a month maybe. That would be great
