This guy is really really good. Why can't we have professors like this in school and college?

Nobody explained it as simple as you did sir. Thank you.

this example is notable because a cdp could also solve this issue, and customer data platforms usually don’t use the language of “master data management.” my experience with mdm is less about customer data and more about data points like vendors or clients in a b2b environment

But the problem presented is if you have different sources of data coming in with different spellings as a root cause, Master Data Management is all about merging and mastering duplicates and putting in place data quality rules to control these critical data elements.

So how can we solve this problem ? and how can we have a process flow that presents a solution for this issue ? what does the technology use exactly ?

So how do it determines the same person? By DOB and SSN or CC number?

By using some IBM AI libraries and cloud services ? Very easy to use and just not so expensive. Hopefully next presentesion tells more about that.

A good database design should have ONE 'source of truth' that all APIs pull from when referencing data. The master data should/could contain all personal information, so if they move, or change phone number or address, only one Master dataset is UPDATED. All APIs will pull data from this master set.

It’s literally the point of MDM, if he goes by multiple names how does a business know they did business with one person? There has to be a single true record of his name no matter how many names he goes by.
