Smithy is literally an evil blacksmith creature. All of his creatures (except shysters) are some kind of weapon that you would use in a normal JRPG.
In the remake, Yaridovich is renamed…..Speardovich (“ovich” meaning “son of” in Russian.)
@@andrewollmann304 I knew he had been renamed, but I didn't know the -ovich thing! Thats interesting, thank you!
@@LeoSmashRoyale It’s the same thing in other Slavic cultures. Germany: -owitz, Serbia/Bosnia/Croatia: -ović, Poland: -owicz, Ukraine: -ovych.
I personally don't think it's fair to count 19:40 as a sin, since the game itself actually plays with the "party members popping out of the leader" thing as a gag.
I'm back rewatching this before the remaster in November! Hopefully they rework the mine car minigame so the turns aren't so infuriating.

Hi turtle
Oh wow, are we getting a Mario RPG series? If so, I'm all for it!
8:47 *[Insert 'Faces of Evil' reference]*
mah boah.
I got an ad as soon as I clicked
2:26 we not gonna talk about the fact that mario was thrown by a massive sword, what seems to be 5000ft in the air, conveniently landing into the chimney of his roof and surviving after being hung onto his own wall? that alone would've ripped his clothes off, or ripped his own head off at the back, being impaled afterwards
9:05 TIL this song is from Mario RPG.
You know how cool a new super Mario rpg with all the new lore and kingdoms we got over the years would be?
Would a remake work instead? Haha 2 years later
If only...
@@NitroIndigo you haven't heard?
@@MillieMuncher360 I was replying to the original comment.
Cool, they made a game where you can play as one of the smash bros. Mii costumes!
I don't know if your joking but if you aren't Super Mario RPG has been around since the 90s. And even if this was new it would get backlash since the last mario game in the series besides the rabbids collaboration was Odyssey and Odyssey had top of the line graphics pretty much.

Say what you want about Geno never begin In any Super Smash Bros Games, but together will always believe In him In our hearts!
This game weirdly became really prominent over these past few months. First Stephenplays did an LP of this. Then The Geek Critique did a review of this game. Afterwards, Lucahjin did a semi-blind LP with Proton Jon co-commentating. And now we have Charri5 doing an EWW video on the game.
I’m not complaining I just find it odd several RUclipsrs I watch covered this game back to back
How did Mario's friends manage to get past Valentina's guards? I know how Mario did, but you're not separated from your party or anything as you'll find out on the next battle you have
"I heard my girlfriend say that to her friend Steve, I didn't know she was into gardening." 31:30
Oh man after hearing the game dialogues full voice acted now I really Wish Square Enix and Nintendo would remake this game more than anything.
Happy 25th anniversary Super Mario RPG even though we probably never going to receive any news about this game this year
Yeah, but I think the story should be more handled by Square Enix instead of Nintendo. Charrii5 was also able to point out the flaws of characters like Booster, Valentina (well, not entirely), and the Axem Rangers.
Your wish has been granted a remake is coming out this November

I remember downloading this game to my Wii and playing through a good chunk of it and there was like some point where all my stars that I collected were taken away and I didn't figure out where I was supposed to go. I don't recall if this game was actually on the SNES classic which I currently have and as far as I can tell I don't believe it's on the SNES online service on the switch, but hopefully it will be cuz I'd love to actually try to get through this game entirely. I grew up in the 90s but very much missed out on this game
Well, as annoying as it may sound, it's often recommended to play on an emulator.
Well boy do I have news for you!
4:33. Indeed they are. I mean, have you seen Tifa Lockhart’s official art from FF7? Hell, they had to give her a sports bra in the Remake.
And again at 27:01.
15:30 Just...everything about this.
Considering that Gaz refers to the Shooting-Star Shot as "custom, patented, one and only" it leads me to believe that Gaz did some wicked modifications to the Geno doll to make it shoot harder than it was supposed to. Like some kind of prophetic reference to what people would do with NERF Guns these days.
Or it was a prophetic reference to the BIONICLE set that shot the little plastic marbles and those things fucking *hurt* if you got nailed by them.
4:34 We’re never going to get jokes like these in Nintendo family friendly games these days.

For the second sin, you could say that there wasn't actually a stormy sky, it was to fit the mood of the antagonist/protagonist

so many walls have been broken in this game, it's like they built a city just for these fourth wall breaks. and now people are wondering why they have a hole in one of the walls in their house.
I can’t believe this doesn’t start off with, “Mario In An RPG? This won’t be anything new later on in a different series... and will later be forgotten.”
by forgotten you mean a burning ship sending out a last ditch effort to save itself by casting a remade popular game that fell on deaf ears leading to the sinkage of AlphaShip
@@Rubyshedinja33 As heartbreaking as that Dream was, I think we're still critically in need of a mention of another series which is still an RPG *on paper* that went on to shove in puzzle combat gimmicks, handicap its own worldbuilding, and make a puppet guy talk for hours.
Just passing by to say that the voice acting in this video was top notch!
1:59 mario always jumps high if he stomped an enemy
6:24 I mean just because Mallow is an anthropomorphic cloud doesn't mean his anatomy matches an actual cloud right?
Also the Mallow is a Small Localized Event Human-Sized Cloud; the weight mentioned in the video is for Storm Clouds that span Several Tens of Cubic Kilometers.
I’ve been waiting so long to watch this, and now that I finally finished the game, I have to say... it was worth the wait
I can never unhear the characters in this game thanks to LordOfTheJimmy's Super Mario Guy RPG series, where characters had Family Guy voices.
Mario is Peter, Peach is Lois, Bowser is Stewie, Mallow is Chris, and Geno is Brian to name a few.
4:54 In the Japanese version, that toad is a fan of Mario jumping.
I'm more concerned on WHY we have to fight Birdo in the game. She says she wants to play, and then we just...kill her.

I kinda liked Flavio's reluctant and petty nature. Ch3 could've been a few less fights and had a modified postgame, but overall I still really like it.
4:51 And you just said he doesn't speak in these games...
I won't spoil anything for the people who don't know this but, I know perfectly well why this guy was able to take down Culex with Toadstool like that. It has to do with a certain armor upgrade you get after beating Valentina. Also I loved this guys sass in regards to some things in this video, I laughed a few times at them. P.s: if you want a challenge to try, try doing either 50 or 100 super jumps with Mario in battle, than return to Monstro town and talk to the dog like enemy to get a special surprise.😎
