But when my HDD died i cried so much because it contained every pics of my childhood, my deceased pets and my deceased grandparents. I went to a pc repair store and they tried everything but they couldnt save the data it was totally broken. Luckily i sometimes copied all my pics on my USB stick but it was a while ago since i did that so i have a huge gap right now. Remember to always save your pics somewhere else and do it straight away!

  • @CoreyPL

    I just use the M.2 -> USB external case, backup all the data then reinstall - no need to make your customer buy another NVMe drive when it is not necessary.
    But I usually fix the blue screen using normal methods. It's not that hard to check event viewer files on a different PC or import a registry to modify autorun, or fix windows boot manager etc. Full system reinstall is the last step. Almost all customers appreciate this, because they don't need to reinstall everything just because their PC had a driver gone bad or other minor problem.

      There’s 2 solutions to that problem. First is to take it in and have a full inspection done to confirm if it’s the same issue as mine. You really want to make sure of this one before you proceed.
      Next is to wipe your computer and see if that fixes it. I know it sucks, but you’re going to lose something here, whether it be money or data. Not even a discussion there.

    If you are really curious you can go the hard core way. Investigate the crash dump file in WinDBG and figure out which part failed in the startup process. It could possibly be a corrupted registry entry since that is what causes many of CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED BSODs.

    this is why you should never keep important files in c drive.
    once you buy a windows laptop and want to use it split that c drive and create a d drive if not already present and store every file in d drive this way you can just wipe out c drive and still have your files. This rule is from win xp days follow it.

    0xEF is typically caused by one or more of the following:
    * Malware
    * RAM issues (Faulty RAM can crash system processes)
    * System file corruption (Can also hint at drive failure)
    * Or, most commonly, user error.

What triggered it is that he got a settings notification stating he needs to turn on core memory which he did, after that he restated and the computer wouldn't open after that

    I had this issue, the way I solved it was reseting the bios several time physically by reseting the nickel battery on the MB. I even tried the command prompt that you did, several in fact. It came down to an os issue, the location was being lost due to my motherboard and a power loss issue my guess due to information loss due to power loss. The best way to prevent this is to have backup version of stable OS version or just constant backups. It comes down to the computer remeber what's plugged in where and if it doesn't recognize that it has a high change of not booting
