    I agree with what they say about the ratchet spanners, they are fuckin wonderful.. Mine were cheap but they work wonderfully nonetheless. Can't imagine working on my car without them

      +Jonka Olofsson cheap ratchet spanners are the best. the amount of times iv forgot to switch to a normal spanner to break a nut lose and fucked the ratchet.... broke a mates 17mm snap on ratchet spanner once doing this. for the £35 it cost to replace his 1 snap on spanner i could have got a whole set of cheapo ones lol....

    You can put whatever coilovers you like in your own car. This is showing you the process regardless of whether you put in cheap mods or expensive ones. Want to see cheap coilovers going in? Watch the MK3 episode. Want to see mid-range Coilovers going in? Check the MCM Magazine article on the Forester coilover install. Want to lower your car on the cheap? Watch the springs install video. Want to see a drift car being built with specific drift suspension and set up into? Watch this video.

    this morning i was in a car crash, the roads were too icy and we did a flip and ended up on a roof, the funny thing is none was actually hurt, we were like almost untouched other than that i was thrown around in the car, so i was like emotionally fucked up and had a sick feel like i was about to throw up, i didnt go to school and just took long walks to calm my self down.. i came home and started to watch MCM, it calmed me down instantly.

    hey guys this is a bit of dumb question but I'm gonna ask anyways, do coilovers replace suspensions?

    • @TdotTeen
      @TdotTeen 9 лет назад +4

      +aaarubalaaa To answer your question in short, yes they do. Modern'ish usually come with strut/spring suspension. By switching to coilovers, you can adjust ride height, spring tension pre load, camber (if they come with plates) and dampening and rebound.

    I like this Season so far. Marty and Moog are doing a serious project which is something they don't seem to do much. Not that I am complaining about the other stuff. It's funny to watch them do cheap and funny imitations of mods (spray painted PVC roll cage). But I have always wanted to see them do a more serious project and it looks like this is it. I like it.

    Plus some of us save up a long time to buy good parts for our cars, and want DIY videos like this. Took me 6 months of working to save up for my $1200 H&R coilovers, which I just recently received. This video makes me really excited to put them on my car. I think it will be worth all the shit I put up with at work for the difference it will make in my car. (especially since my stock suspension is done, having over 100k miles on it)

    One way you can calculate the friction coefficients (two of them) are calculated is by applying a force to the brake pad and measuring the amount of force that is required to break free of the surface and get it moving(static friction) and the force required to keep it moving (kinetic friction).

    Running negative camber increases steering response for counter steering. It isn't the best for low powered cars as there isn't enough torque to keep the car sideways and you'll find yourself straightening up a lot and ending up where there front are pointing. But you have a fair amount of castor to balance it all out, can't wait to see this in action!!

    Thanks for the advice - I don't mind watching adds if its for something I am interested in, and I accept that this is what keeps RUclips running - but they need to let me skip if I want to, as more than half the time I'm just not interested in what they are shilling. Most of the "good" adds only make you watch 15 seconds - the best let you skip right away - the Windows 8 add makes you watch all excruciating 40 seconds.

    240sx was a North American market designation only. It came only with a Ka24e as its only engine option which produced 140 hp from 1989 and 1990 and Ka24de rated at 155 hp from 1991-1998. 180sx sold in rest of the world came with ca18de and ca18det in the early years, and sr20de and sr20det in the later years, the most powerful model being rated at 202 hp.

    They are both in the music industry. Marty is a sound engineer and MOOG is a musician (all of the songs they use are from MOOG). They just share a passion of working on cars, so thus that's what they do. I don't ever recall them saying they are "part-time mechanics" so thus that is false.

    The majority of the brake pads have a fixed area. When you increase the size of the rotor you are just increasing the radius from the center axis of the wheel. This means more torque which translates to less force needed to stop the wheel. Less force means less pressure is needed, which in turn means less heat generation. Less heat generation means less chance of vaporizing the brake fluid which means you have a reliable brake system. Racing brake pads have higher μ not larger area.
