These build videos are sick. I will never own a 200 but strip back the layers and the build principles and thought processes are the same. Good work 4wd action, jocko is great at these videos.
Is your torqit chip tuned to that specific vehicle or straight out of the box? Mines not dyno tuned yet,got x flow and pedal torque.....man the response and power is just ridiculous I’d love to know what it does! Loved the clip “bloody awesome “ Love to see more
you all would have a great time building an off-roader in USA there is no where near the restrictions here on them as you guys have..a few years ago my daily driver was a 1986 ford f150 4x4 lifted 13 inches on 40inch tires..many times the police around my area would drive by me looking at the truck and give me a thumbs up..once a state trooper pulled me over just so he could look at the truck and admire it ...love the videos keep them coming.
Also wasn't in the video when you lift the suspension you may need go increase brake line lengths and when carrying out the wheel alignment make sure this is done after all your accessories are fitted as load with affect your wheel alignment so you want to generally make sure you do a wheel alignment with your default load and full tank of fuel.
martin526 austria We’ll be seeing it in action when they upload their trip through the Watagans, it seems they did the Killy Loop while they were there, according to their facebook. Keen for the next episode!
@@4WD247 You said it...SOME. I just came back from a Vic high country trip and all I saw was Older model patrols and LC's, Prados, Pajeros Hiluxes and Navaras with one Y62 and one 200. We did the Billy Goat Bluff track and surrounds. Your're not actually targetting a wider audience here who have older models vehicles. Most of the newer model 4WD that you see are on youtube channels like yourself, Ronny Dahl, Australian 4x4 adventures and All 4 adventures. We'll watch your vids no doubt, but how about catering for the masses. Brand new 200 with 12 mods, yeah that's your everyday aussie 4WDriver/camper not to mention probably majority of your subscribers.
$100k on a 200 $3k on rims and tyres $2k on suspension lift $500 on diff drop $1k for snorkel and custom air box $4k on bar work $1k on winch ( depending what they got could be $3k ) $2k on lights $2k on exhaust $2k on chip/tune $500 on UHF $3k on fridge/drawers $3k on engineering cert. So, a good $130k give or take for this sort of setup not including ANY fitting costs or the cost of that custom wrap job. That's not too bad, actually.

You forget to add up for any suspension mods, you should also replace the sway bar link in order to allow the suspension to flexs properly without any problems.
Great, professional video. You guys not just explain the general modifications. You also explained mods that should be done to the air box as the standard airbox is crap and allows dust ingress.
I love all these mates building out their $100K rigs, when some of us figured out a while back that you can build a early 1990's bush truck that out performs nearly any of them, but for a fraction the cost! Never underestimate a 1993 4Runner! LOOL
Great to see the emphasis on engineering to keep it all safe & legal. The payload on the 200 really isn't much, did you get a gvm upgrade and what does the fighting weight weigh in at?
Im just a 13 year old guy.But really love cars and motorcycles and when i grow up i want to have my own car and a motorcycle so for the people who's planning to build a offroad car i mean upgrade for offroading this is the best guide! thank you 4WD Action!!!Like this if you already fixed a car!
Setting up my own car as we speak, a Pajero Sport, the approach angles aren’t the best with the low hanging bumper, just wondering what you guys think is more important, a bullbar to help with approach angles or suspension, which will also help with approach angles but also help with ride and off-roading etc Also suspension is 1/2 the price of a bar Cheers guys
Question. How did you manage to get 35in tyres engineered on a 200 series? I’ve been told by numerous people including engineers that the maximum you can go is 33s.
James Evans, Name me three engineers that you know that do it and what state they engineer in. If you’re going to make a comment you better be able to back your opinion.
You boys ever think about coming out to the states. I live by Death Valley and there are some Exceptional trails around. 35’s on a vehicle with no transfer case doesn't sound very do-able you will have serious torque and drivetrain issues on steps or river crossing or any hectic incline
Love how engineering was given a mention! Way too many illegal 4wds getting around and taking the risk (not from getting caught by police) but quite possible jail time in event of accidents and let's hope no one gets killed because of it, let the engineers determine what is safe! Also something to mention with 12volt setups is the Alternator specs. I am not aware of what is actually in the 200 series but many smaller 4x4s like dual cabs can easily fry alternators when running lots of power hungry accessories such as extra lights and charging accessories like DCDC chargers, especially when all ran at the same time. Time to have some fun - if you could build ANY 4WD up to do tough 4WDing - what would it be?
Definitely a Subaru brumby 😁
4WD Action blown y62 patrol
GQ patrol
1998 gu patrol
Jk
You guys should do a budget 4x4 mod, like what the average Joe can afford,do up a late 90's surf or gq, 80, along those lines
they have done somet similar few years back with a suzuki samurai i think and took it down some of the tougher trails of australia
Yeah, this bloke can't afford all this kit, it'd take me years to get a rig like this.
Hahaha agree
Would love to see a 90/95 series
Or a cheaper 4x4. Some dont have enough money for a modification like this. I still dont win the lottery
After 4 days on lockdown this is just what I need good on ya lads
hell yeah ahah
Plenty more content coming your way mate!
we are on our 1st day of 4 weeks in nz how long you guy's on lock down for
Roza we haven’t been told yet just waiting day by in the uk
Thank God... I've been stuck at home with the crotch monkeys... let me veg out learning new things and drooling over shauno 😂😂😂
Aussies:
Say church: “Church”
Say chunk: “Chunk”
Say chassis: “SHAZZY”
That's because it's originally a French word meaning frame. Us Aussies are real posh in our proper pronunciation :P
Well in french we say shaSSY and not shaZZy. Nor Tchassy by the way.
That's a funny one TOMMO...
Americans:
Say Aluminium: "Aluminum" :'-)
Lmao. I always think this.
Jock nailed this one, awesome to see him on some more videos
100% ! He can get a bit excited at times though xD
As much as I've seen so far, this video is definitely the most extensive and detailed guide to rig up a new 4wd. Great job guys. 👏🏻

I’ve got a 200. This looks magic! Good one fellas.
Spotted the 205 GTI! Great vid as always guys, greetings from France
Great video as always, and great to be seeing more videos with Jocko! He nails it every time

I have watched this a number of times and get a bit more out of it everytime. Thanks mate!!

sharing the love for Benny!
Don't sparesbox cover benny and the boys, I vaguely remember seeing there cars at one of the Sparesbox stands somewhere recently
Damn,, just mentioned that in a comment
Love having Jocko!!
What an awesome video guys! Super helpful for anyone looking to upgrade their vehicle. In depth showing how to do all the important mods. Thanks!
Excuse me, but what is this cool music at the 0:07 part of the video?
Good to see there's no 4wd supacentre crap on this build. Actually using good quality products that work. Raslaar, STEDI, Runva just to name a few

Good way to spend a covid lockdown watching this.👍
Yeah well we wouldn't have to if bloodly China had of contained this virus when it first appeared in China last year.
i hope this 200 will join your adventure soon! more content guys!

Love this vid fellas..I wish you'd do more with pedestrian Land Cruisers like this. Reminds me of the $1,000 Lux!
loved your video, I wish you were in the states, it looks like you do NOT take any short cuts. Best of success guys!
Well.....gladly I have you guys to keep me busy and entertained indoors through this global situation right now. Cheers.
Mate that V8 raw is incredible
Who can afford 12 mods after buying a 200? :(
Some people can - but the MAJOR point here is these tips and mods are relevant to ALL 4WDs - from 200s and 79s down to $3,000 GQ patrols
If you can afford a 200 you can afford the mods🤷♂️

We are going into lockdown at midnight tonight for three weeks here in South Africa. Going to have lots of time to rewatch old 4wd action episodes
And new ones😉
WOW! That was quite a transformation. Lovely lil beast you built there. Cheers from the PNW!
Very good tip about the airbag and spring supporting the vehicle
you turns this monster beast to a real master piece
4WD Action and MCM is gonna be nice upgrade for 1 car 🤩
best truck ive ever seen. id put wheel up front ontop of rack and tent on rack other than that love it. want to see more of this truck
You forget to add up for any suspension mods, you should also replace the sway bar link in order to allow the suspension to flexs properly without any problems.
We installed extended sway bar mounts in the rear along with an adjustable panhard bar to allow proper articulation.
What about extended brake lines.? What size lift did you go with
Great job to sparesbox on getting all the accessories for the beast of a 200!👌

Nice clip and great tips, Jock. I had to learn my 4WD build lessons before RUclips so you young punters out there pay attention to this!
Awesome vid guys! Great to see you two hosting it
Atleast they had the most talented driver steering it well done jocko brother 🤙🏼
Hahahah how funny is jocko when he drives! He’s a fresh fave and random

Not a bad idea!! A BCW / Sparesbox / 4wd Action collab!!

I’m surprised GVM wasn’t mentioned especially on a 200 series time you upgrade tyres put a front bar on a roof rack your almost over GVM
We actually upgraded the GVM prior to fitting all the parts as we know how important for safety and legality vehicle weights can be!
