- Shaun Whale's latest LandCruiser build is HERE! Shauno heads over to DMW Industries with his brand new 200 Series, not even a day old - and shows us how to do a PROPER ute chop!
A chopped 200 series with a chassis extension is the ultimate ute conversion, and the result is a touring MACHINE! The boys at DMW do this everyday, and they've got it down to an art. See just what goes into chopping a 4WD into a ute and extending the chassis to make way for trays, canopies and safe weight distribution.

Look at the smile on him 😂 bloke is living the dream! Driving tracks, camping, fishing, spending 365 days a year customising 4x4s. And if you ask me, that’s as good as it gets
Don’t forget hours every single day editing videos and probably doing the same thing over and over until it’s right ,I’d imagine he’ll be attending a helluva lot of meetings as well
@@twoeyedbob I imagine 4wd24/7 has a group of editors and shit and he really doesnt have to do much besides provide voiceovers... Meetings would probably be few and far between as well, shauno is living the best easy life and good on him!
@@twoeyedbob he doesn't edit the videos. 😂
I would very much doubt he just goes out for a laugh with his mates with a few go pros then goes home and waits for the money to roll in
Pretty sure it’s a lot more work than that
I haven't watched yet but I'm sure something is a 'game changer"
HAHA. Wait for the 'game changing personalised plate design' episode!

idk about game changing but lots of "over engineering" lol

You should upgrade the registration details to my name when its done.
James Chant 😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
first time in a few months where shauno hasn't said drifta
Just over engineered.
This is gonna be an epic build hands down. Graham eating standing his dinner was an over engineered joke 😄😄😄 Thanks for the great vid!
The skill it takes to accomplish something like is absolutely awesome
Great Australian Engineering!
Nicest tax write-off i've seen in a while!
Well, end of the year is close. Gotta get them writeoffs in.

Honestly I haven't seen any yet in south Africa but I personally think that they look like shit as a dual cab ute! Regardless of how good the engine or build might be, it still doesn't wow me... But perhaps others feel differently about it... I thought the sparesbox 200 that Sam and jocko always drive, is about as sick as a 200 can get...
@@jordanvanwyk138 nope they made it a lot better go look up Sam young on Insta I bet you will love it
NOO WAYYY, Shauno!!!... A 200 Series!?!?!? YESSSS!!!.. I have been busy with work lately, but seeing you in one of those, i'll definitely find time to tune in to future episodes!.. I'm a happy girl now!
I love you
Good grief. That is simply incredible! I have no suggestions but please bring on the next episode!
"Didnt worry you on Darryl" Best line ever!
Should run a winch on the back like the old dirty 30. Remote places and maybe getting bogged, could be a trailer saver.
Good idea, Shauno
Use it too winch the boat on too.
Shauno you are the heart of the show! You can be so darn funny but the trucks you build are tough and just awesome. Can’t wait to see it out on the trails when you are done. The guys at DMW really do great work hats off to them. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏼🤙🏼🍻
I love your collection of vehicles and the 200 even surprised me. I never thought after dirty 30 you will build something like this for a long time. This truck will be the show stopper I can tell. I love the idea of full canopy on this 200. I can’t wait to see the wheels lift and underneath reinforcements🦾🦾
I knew you were gonna get a 200. Just from your reactions in the cape york trip. It was, WHAT A BEAST! from start to finish😂
Great inside into DMW’s conversions. Love the silver paint too. Good pick Shauno
Dude you’re actually insane, thanks for filming/sharing though I’m glad we could come along
I'm so excited to see this build take shape, I'm hoping you get into lots of the nitty gritty with the build for our viewing pleasure.
Word of the day, Over engineering!!!
As a mechanical engineer, I kept saying "Overbuilt isn't overengineered!" Over engineered is when you spend too much time working out the forces and stresses on a component and design it to be just strong enough without being too heavy. It is often cheaper to just make it a little stronger and not worry too much about the weight.
So happy to see you get a new vehicle - you really deserve it. Sorry I have nothing to offer for extras - you have brilliant ideas normally 👍
Guys it just blew my mind .... what a insaaaaane job !!!!! I can not wait to the next episode !!!!
Love this build! Cannot wait to watch the build continue. My 200 series is pretty much stock, but it has me thinking about where to go from here.
I some how thought this was going to happen when you up put the 79 up for sale. but good on you mate work hard for what you have, you will enjoy the new rig when its done cant wait to see when its done, slide out bbq is the way to go i have this in my rig best thing ever hands down
if got money do that chopping in 200 series
buy king 6 ton Isuzu 4x4 crew cab which carry 2ton back and tow 3.5-ton trailer plus carry 7 people
thank you for great detail video
You’d probably have change too!
I agree. Why would you chop a perfectly good car.
This is awesome shauno! Can't wait to see more on this build mate 👌
Enjoying seeing all the technical parts to the chop! They are the ultimate touring rig! I would like to see the rear winch build up on the 200 if you put one on
Dang, sick build Shauno! Looking forward to the rest of the build. Silver 200 with black accents is my dream rig so your right on the money with your colour scheme. Great Mind's Think Alike, amirite! Got to say, would love to see a Toro Bar from Offroad Animal on there. And maybe a set of those ROH Beadlock rims from the DMW 200. mmm, a truck has never looked so good.
You really will need to rent a woolies car park to store all your cars shauno
Omg it hurts a little when you started cutting 😂😂
Can't wait to see the final conversation!!! Keep it going Shanow!!!!
Solid build. Well deserved & enjoy it! Following from the USA! Keep up the good work!
The nervous grin on Shaun’s face... I’ve only ever done a snorkel and that was bad enough.
Looking forward to this. Now we just need Graham to Chop a Y62 😂😂
And silver version of the dmw 200 that thing is a weapon and a dream truck 👍👍 keep us up to date mate
Ever thought of installing a bar themed beer tap mate ? God knows i have.
We know how much us bois love our beer so why not highlight it. :-) Rig looks fantastic and Shauno congratulations mate you've earned it. Enjoy

I cried when I saw this but Australians sure can whip up a mean off road machine. Looks great Sean. Respect from the southern states 🇺🇸
That body cut and panel work looks better then other chops ive seen around a steep above the rest👍
I'm happy for him he's able to do that build. Suer interesting to see the process of a chassis extension done right
It's pretty amazing to see the work that goes into it. Shauno
Drink everytime Shauno says "over engineered" 🤣😂
Absolutely amazing engineering they way they brace and create strong triangles for the diff well done awesome
After watching the DMW builds live , they build great looking rigs
"Graham could stand here and make his lunch"
So normal of shauno to say!
Times have changed a lot since the start of 4wd action with Roothy and milo.
Back when it was fun and affordable, now you need a second mortgage to do anything
Definitely not for the average bloke.single income family couldn’t come close to doing what these guys are doing..
Guys, if I can do it on a budget with a single income, you can too. 😂 there’s plenty of episodes of budget builds, you’re just not looking hard enough!

Shaunie don't dare calling your vehicle a Ute,by no means
I reckon this is an awesome bit of kit mate I can't wait to see it finished. I'd like to see enough power in the canopy to run an air fryer. I use my one daily and think it would be super handy to help you feed the team when you're out filming.
Hey Shauno
Some custom rock sliders with built in led lights inside them would look sick as it’s something different that no else has got.
Even those lights that are blinkers and Parker’s in the door handles make it stand out. Custom side air slotted vents on the front guards or doors will break up the look aswel.
Front jungle guards would look good also.
The lists are never ending but like the build so far.
Australia needs the full size Tundra to be sold there. That would solve the problem of having to convert suvs to trucks.
Nah mate, in the 200 you get rear coils stock and a narrower chassis, the 200 is already an extremely wide vehicle in Australia, and the tundra is even wider again which would be inconvenient for our road widths and parking etc. 200 interior also is a luxury with less road noise and more comfort etc and 200 parts over here are a dime a dozen. Its an all round more capable off road vehicle, not to mention the traction control as well when compared to the tundra
I was gonna ask the same thing. You can get all the luxury options and traction control in the Tundra and it would be far cheaper to convert it to coils than a ute conversion, but they are MASSIVE trucks and there's getting around that.
Would prefer the Tacoma. Bigger than Hilux but not massive truck like Tundra.
2.5" sus with air bags, staino snorkel, psico intercooler if they make it for the 200 33" tyres with -16 wheels and tune
Awesome stuff so far and the Toyota beast is even lookin really good so far i be luvin watching this project till the end . Big thumbs up 👍
This is good stuff. Now you guys doing something different. Keep it up guys. You guys are just awesome
Wow, never thought shauno would go with an IFS. Now both him and graham have them, nice to see as I'll go with one as well in the future.
Put in the bash guards no worries 👍
It's a first for me, pretty keen to see what it's like. Shauno

@@koffeeblack how you finding the weight?
A dmax and a chopped 200 series, now where have I seen that before?
Shaun was asking for inspiration. That’s exactly where he will find it
Lol
as an american I need to know why more aussies dont sleep in their canopie things. I remember a 4wdrive action vid years ago where they were driving up the beach on the east side of cape york think the guys name was Jaime or something, from jaime (or something's) touring concepts and he was driving a huge old landrover. Got nervous about sleeping near the crocs so he cleared out the back passengers side of the canopie and threw his swag up. Seems like a good place to throw a canvas zip off the canopie door, whack in a bed roll from an old swag and have your self a raised up water proof sleeping set up, away from the creepy crawlies and the biting handbags...
It's been the norm in Aus for almost 10 years now 95% of 4wds these days have drawers and fridge slides because it's the trend (like a keeping up with jones thing). Great marketing ploy as like you said it makes the rear of the car essentially useless and once your on the road it's permanent. Nobody really camps these days anymore they're just posers that drag along camper trailers or offroad caravans that are setup like resorts showing off how flash and expensive their setup is and sit in the aircon anyway, bit sad really whats happened to the Aussie outdoor lifestyle
It's incredible mate we'll done.
Can't wait to see you take it Bush.
I think your going to need a bigger boat.

OH YES!!
Personally I love it! Only thing I would do over and above the DMW build would be a Solid axle Swap with portals. It would be completely unstoppable. Full blown engineering would be required but would be so worth it in the end.
Epic. I'm really looking forward to this!
Now all the the top adventure shows got a chopped 200 series. They all want a dual cab ute that can carry like a truck. It's follow the leader. Be different and get a 4x4 truck. Start something new.
The best thing with accessories - less is more. Pick a style and fit complimentary accessories. Some trucks are packed full with accessories and can look too busy.
You want to preserve the lines of the 200.

@@4WD247 IS the 200 series more capable than the 79? I know there are serious limitations on mods you can use and put on in Australia. Is it like the 200 series for Sparesbox that Jocko minced the CV on on Moon rock?

The quality of their work is first class. Genuinely excited to see how this turns out. The only think that puzzles me is the lack of any wiring! I'm assuming the 200 is a canbus system and can imagine that it causes a few headaches for the fellas there.. best of luck with the build 👍👍
