    Truly sensational moment! Many have called him "disrespectful to the game", but in the end he has shown everyone what an amazing champion he really is. I think Ronnie is an idol, not only on the snooker table, but as a human being in itself. No matter how horrifying your demons are that you carry around, if you put in the hard work, you can fight those demons. And having watched all of his matches during this World Championship, you can see how much hard work it really was. What a character, what an artist, what a role model!

      If he was in any other sport he wouldn't be vilified, but snooker still tries to maintain the aura of being a gentlemen's game, that abrasive winning mentality he has wouldn't bat an eye in something like football for example. At the end of the day it's the work that matters, that's what we pay to see, and he's an artist on a snooker table.

    “He has taken the game to new levels. He really has. The century breaks; the cue ball control; the safety game; the temperament; the killer instinct; he has got it all. I said earlier in the week that it would be an honour to be at 7 (World Titles) with Ronnie and it is, because he plays the game the way it’s supposed to be played he is an artist!!!”
    Stephen Hendry’s thoughts as Ronnie O’ Sullivan equals his record of 7 World Snooker Championship Titles at the Crucible Theatre May 1st 2022.

    I just keep watching it lmfao. What a moment in sport! The whole thing, not least the moment shared between the 2 players! I was never a Judd fan, but I am now. How can you not be after seeing the humility and grace he showed Ronnie in that moment that brought tears to the great man! How can I not be...

    O'Sullivan made them all terrified to miss when they were in because he was winning the frame in 1 go.Never have i seen Higgins and then Trump so nervous of missing because Ronnie just didn't miss except for one session and trump played great snooker in that session but when they came back that night Ronnie got 2 chances and made 2 80 breaks to put 5 between them again. Theres no one close to him now.

      Exactly, you made a very good point here. His opponents don't play their best because of Ronnie. He is so intimidating to other players especially when he's in this type of mood. Throughout the whole tournament he had that aura of being unplayable.

    I am fortunate, not only to have been alive when the greatest in football, tennis, track and field, formula 1 and a lot of other sports has been around, but also to have been alive for the entirety of modern snooker history. I've seen them all, from Alex to John Higgins, from Murphy to Williams to Trump to Selby, from Davis to Hendry and to the greatest snooker player ever to have lived, Ronnie O'Sullivan. And I've enjoyed noone more than Ronnie.
    He is a legend, not only in snooker, but in all of sports history. Period.

    From a 76 year old ex straight pool hustler across the pond in Brooklyn, WOW. Never been lucky enough to even touch the felt on a snooker table but knowledgeable enough to understand how difficult this game is. I have been following the game for over 20 years thanks to RUclips and have to admit that I no longer watch any other game requiring a cue stick. Thanks again for all the hours I have enjoyed watching ,men and women like Hendry, Ronnie and Mink perform magic on a 12 foot slab of slate.

    Jimmy White and Stephen Hendry made the right predictions that Ronnie will win the 7th World Title. They both knew this well when they saw Ronnie's dedications and hard works in this biggest tournament. However, I saw Ronnie was so tired and exhausted in the late final match against Trump due to his age. Now the record says Ronnie is the oldest man who's ever won the World Snooker Title. Wow.....this man is so amazing!

    The atmosphere in the Crucible at any match is amazing but for a final in particular even more special. I was there for the 1986 final (having been to a couple of semis that year) and there were so many good shots pulled off - more so by Joe Johnson - my hands were sore with constant clapping. I would have loved to have been to this one. Maybe next year. One of the things I love about snooker is the camaraderie between the players, enemies effectively when on the table but best buddies off it. Heartwarming and fantastic. A lovely sight here at the end with Judd and Ronnie in their embrace.

  • @streetspirit956
    @streetspirit956 2 года назад +44

    Surprising emotions displayed by Ronnie but I think this a result of a number of factors. Firstly the sheer effort it's taken to win this year. Previous titles he has actually had quite mediocre opponents in finals - Ali Carter twice, Graeme Dott, Barry Hawkins and Kyren Wilson. The other time apart from Higgins when he has played an ATG in a final he lost. This year he has had to beat Higgins who he has a poor recent h2h record against and then another unbelievable player in Trump. He knows this has taken a monumental effort like no other year and then you add to that he has equalled Hendry and whatever it was Trump said to him in the embrace and his son and daughter being there, it's no wonder he was an emotional mess.

      "Previous titles he has actually had quite mediocre opponents in finals - Ali Carter twice, Graeme Dott, Barry Hawkins and Kyren Wilson."
      This means that all of these "mediocre" players won against the "snooker gods" so that the "snooker gods" were not that "gods" to reach the final and to win against Ronnie.
      Seriously, now Ronnie should focus on Higgins, Robertson, Selby and Judd not to lose so that he can beat them in the final so that "streetspirit 95" from RUclips is happy?

    • @andya5597
      @andya5597 2 года назад +6

      Even if the oppponents in the final were mediocre, he still had to beat great players to reach the final. Like in the semi final against Selby to win his 6th title. That's my favourite snooker match of all time

    • @zepete5
      @zepete5 2 года назад +2

      @streetspirit 95 you have som good points in 2
      Heavy matchen against big Guns like Higgins and Trump but first you need to look back on the level of the 90’s and how small the sport was compared to the last 10 years. Then you need to look back on what players O’Sullivan won against to reach those finals plus what players got beaten the the Carters and Hawkins😎! There are many factors you are overlooking to fit your theory;-)

    I don't care what anyone says Stephen Hendry changed snooker from the 80s when only Davis or Higgins in top form cleared the table.Hendry took snooker to an amazing standard and O'Sullivan has perfected snooker.Throughout the tournament the pressure O Sullivan put on these wonderful players by simply not missing especially against Higgins and Trump was similar to 08 12 Championships.Yes he's the greatest but Mr.Hendry for me is still in 2nd place despite not winning a tournament in 17 years so that means he's ahead of many many truly great players.

    He was the greatest snooker champion in this word.
    Who can do that?
    Century break over 1,000 times and maximum break 15 times.

    On thing, or should I say person spoils this and it's John Virgo. The worst commentator in the game and rather than shut up while we could have all enjoyed his long embrace with Judd, he continues to shout and talk throughout it. His ability to be quiet when he needs to be is none existent. Well done Ronnie though, incredible.

      sport. You really spoil it for myself and i can't answer for anyone else but JV we love you. Snooker wouldn't be the same without you Sir. Mr. Taylor is the best in the business,very calm,quiet and no matter who wins he still remains solidly in the commentary box. MR. Virgo,love and respect you but please rein it in ever so slightly. 😘

      Absolutely i've just put my comment in and i never reply or share this view. Snooker's the love of my life and had been for 40 years. In my opinion Mr. Taylor is definitely the best commentator bat none in snooker. I gave Mr. Virgo a bit of a telling off!! I hate critisying anyone but Jesus i actually can't listen to him,so I mute my telly! As you said a crucial or non crucial shot comes up and the next thing you spill your cup of tea (rum and mixer) or whatever's healthy down your bloody dress and the cue ball is back in balk! Can't listen to Mr. V. 🎱..
