Out of all the youtube angler's given their 411, Nick the IF hands down is the most effective and extremely helpful angler out here. W/o his help people would be helpless and useless at any level, once again thanks Nick really appreciate you taking the time to help out ! high five!
Hey IF, great video. One thing i would suggest for new guys using frogs. Is wait a second prior to setting the hook. I've lost a bunches of fish early on in my fishing career to setting the hook on the blow up. Now i wait maybe a half a second longer and nowadays loose very few hookups.
Great stuff nick, I fish the sinkos alot and have always used them the traditional way. Im gonna try the dead stick and it seems u can cover ground more quickly. Thanks for the info!
Hey Nick, So I unfortunately don't own a boat and am stuck to bank fishing, the lake I have the best luck at has some warm water maybe 75 degrees right now. Where I fish it has some docks and bed and some sand. What times of day would you suggest? The biggest fish I've pulled out of there was a 4 pounder on a sinko.
elliottgamer Time of day is not as important as location. Early in the they will roam the open shallow water, later in the day when the sun moves over head they will move deeper or into thicker cover or under docks.
Love the video! Very good! I have a question: how about 7" senkos? I think they may be better for big fish than 5" senkos and can attract them from far away. It's actually Mike Long's second favorite lure (right after jigs) foi catching giant bass.
What colour of swimbait will big bass eat? I'm just looking to buy a couple so I was wondering which colour patterns work best , thanks for the videos! The tips are wonderful
Thanks Nick, appreciate the tips. I fish CenTex lakes, high pressure lakes with threadfin shad the main forage. For quite some time now three bites was a good day just beatin the banks! I'm gonna give this big bait technique a shot and let you know how it pans out. Thanks again.
this video is great. but i am a beginner and i wanted to know if you can make a video to show things that i could start out with? i go fishing 4-6 hours a day and i want to go pro one day.
Definitely love the advice. Ive watched many of your videos. Gain constant knowledge from them. Thank you for the tips and advice. Love your page on facebook also.Only question. Ive been using a lot of Lews brand rods and reels. Not many pros talk about the brand. and I was told they were as good as Abu Garcia. Do you think they are any good or should I steer more towards Abu Garcia and duckett brands??I know the equipment doesn't make the fishermen but I also know it helps to have good quality equipment.
I am a big time bass fisherman and I always get frustrated watching these videos cuz they are not captioned or transcripted :( I still enjoy watching them though, I just only get the visual stuff not the information. Nice to see a local guy killing it! I love the delta and I see you fish it all the time. Was pretty sure I saw you out by kings island a few months ago.
I truly love your style of going into depth while telling your followers how to fish. when you go into a lake like in NC ( lake gaston) is it better to fish in the grassy when using a frog or not ? I know you want to use a double blade buzzbait in an open area with cypressknees and logs. Anyone with any suggestions please comment !!!
nice bass video. could you do a short video on when to use a leader (mono and steel because a lot of my bass baits attract northern), when to tie direct or use a snap swivel
Curtdogg11v . Honestly Curt I never use snaps unless I'm trolling large plugs for stripers. For bass I tie on directly, double surgeons loop for cranks and jerks, Palomar for braid presentations and improved clinch for fluorocarbon. If pike are chomping it off you might want to just use a heavier fluorocarbon leader, just do the double surgeons loop so the heavy line does not rob the lure of it's action. You can attach the lines together with a uni to uni knot or cigar or blood knot or just a little barrel swivel. Best of fishing!
Brian Urias I spent 40 bucks at bass pro for my first one and it wasn't the greatest obliviously but still great because i didn't want to spend a whole ton. i have been using them for a while and still dont plan on spending more than 150.. the cheap stuff will still catch fish haha
There's a pond next to me and in that pond there is a fountain. There are 5 pounders jumping like crazy but I can't seem to find the pattern.I need some tips.
Forget a bugatti ,, if i win the powerball first thing I'm getting is a boat lol been on a fishing binge.. use the typical nightcrawler and tired of catching crappie. time to switch it up. thanks for the tips
InformativeFisherman .can u send me and my brother a spincast reel because our fishing reel broke if u can please but i also dont want you to spend a lot of money its ok if u cant
man! I went bass fishing today for like 4 hours and only had 2 bites.. I will see them following my lure but they wouldn't bite! idk what the hell happened today :/ I used 3 different lures a frog , a plastic warm and big sardine I felt two bites with the worm but no catch
"Don't fish any "bait" w/ stock split rings or stock hooks." No wonder there are no other comments on this video. Everybody else must've seen your instructions on one of your other videos. The hooks and rings on a name brand lure are more than sufficient for hooking and holding the biggest bass it was designed for, which in this case is the biggest bass that was designed. I have never bent or broken a treble hook in 50 years of bass fishing, and that's a lot of bass fishing. I fished the phosphate pits in central Fl. It's where Bill Dance films, because although we have Lk. Kissimmee and Okeechobee, etc, even they are no match for the strip pits left by the mining operations. While other people were cooking mullet at their fish fries we were frying bass fillets. Anyway...a LOT of bass. Rapalas, bangolures, devil's horse, spooks, you name it; You REALLY think these people don't know what they're doing? No bent trebles, no open split rings....ever. If I was Trokar, I think i'd pull you back just a little. You got some loose knots. How'd we ever catch bass before $10 hooks?
441 likes to 22 dislikes, 84 comments 100% positive, Debbie Downer much? You came to this video looking for advise and I'm sure you found plenty but instead you thought you should try knocking me? Ask any pro out there if they fish stock hooks and rings and the answer will be no 100% of the time, P.S. you're welcome.
+partner348 Ive broken at least 10 hooks on 5 or 6 rapala shadow raps this year.... and probably had double that bent outta shape... yea you should switch out hooks!
Nick, your progression has been incredible. Everything stems from attitude! Good stuff!
Thanks brother!
Love your videos! Great to meet you at IFMAS last week end! Definitely going to keep in tune to your Videos!
Like wise, trying to plan out this years IF'mas soon!

Love the support brother, thanks again!
Nick do you put bait on your crank baits or do you just throw them in
😂the duck in the pool at 5:58 thug life😂
Do you loosen your drag to bring in the fish or just force them in ??

Great stuff nick, I fish the sinkos alot and have always used them the traditional way. Im gonna try the dead stick and it seems u can cover ground more quickly. Thanks for the info!

***** Thanks Nick! Another question, what color baits should I use for clearer water? Green? Maybe red?
elliottgamer
In clear water natural colors or translucent
***** Thanks Nick! Keep up the good work all of your information has been really helpful, hence the name I guess right? :D

Kermit Xiong Gary makes some great rods, but I'm an iRod guy myself
What irod would you throe the lunker punker 8in woods on? great vids
The large swim

what kind of swim bait is that?
nick, for the 8" swim bait will 15 pound mono work?
That'll work, but not as well

Thanks Kevin, grass is great for froggin but it works great around timer and boat docks too since its super weedless

OK thank you
is a G loomis glx any good
Im looking into getting my first bait caster....do you have any good recommendations?
Depends on cost, what are you looking to spend? If it's in the upper thousands I'm getting into the reel business.
Considering its my first one i would like to keep it at or below $150.00
Brian Urias
Around that price I would look at a Revo SX
Brian Urias I spent 40 bucks at bass pro for my first one and it wasn't the greatest obliviously but still great because i didn't want to spend a whole ton. i have been using them for a while and still dont plan on spending more than 150.. the cheap stuff will still catch fish haha
Pflueger Supreme XT or Quantum Energy
There's a pond next to me and in that pond there is a fountain. There are 5 pounders jumping like crazy but I can't seem to find the pattern.I need some tips.
Cast near the fountain with a weightless 5 inch watermelon green Senko Texas rigged, let it sink to the bottom and pop it every 10 seconds
