Dude...this is about the BEST, accurate, informative, thorough, and detailed videos I've seen- hands down!! I thank you on behalf of all beginners to Professional level anglers for being generous and selfless with your time and knowledge. Outstanding job Nick!
That was so much information in an hour and I praise you for sitting there that long and talking. So many videos are so short and don't cover everything. If someone really wants to learn they will spend the time to watch this and it will definitely benefit even an avid bass angler such as myself
I am a retired Army veteran that hardly ever fished during my first 46 years of life, Now that I have some free time, there is nothing more relaxing than going out and walking the banks of a lake catching anything that will hit my lure! Your videos are exactly what I was looking for. Great job on putting them together to help us novices better enjoy our new passion of fishing! Greatly appreciated!!
I've been cramming a lot of fishing videos in lately, and this one is the most informative by far. Thank you so much for teaching us all this useful information about how, when, and where to use these baits! No more wasted money buying things I won't be using in the water near me!
Thanks for taking the time to make this show. I had a great time learning about how bass trap bait fish on rocks, where to add red to your lures body, and that you can fish strait braid with surface lure. Thanks again for the video. Keep doing big things
Thank you for taking the time and spending the effort to share your knowledge and experience. This is one of the best videos I have found with a high level view as well as the more detailed deep dive on the lures, techniques, depths, targets and gear etc. I've seen a lot of great videos with some of the tips you mentioned but don't recall seeing this much great info in a single video.
One hour video and I watched all. Congrats! I'm surfing fish in Long Island New York (big stripped bass and bluefish). I never fish for bass fish. But, listen to you, make a lot sense. Thanks for tips.
Absolutely fantastic tips and tricks. Regardless if you're a novice bass angler or experienced this has great information for all! Keep up the great work, definitely looking up more videos from you!
Very informative. Great video. Question, new lake, never been on it what's your go to lure? Obviously a search tool.. Cover some ground I'm assuming.. I'm in the northwest, 60 degree water, sand rock bottom looking for that hot smallie bite
hey, awesome vid! great info! now at the end i see you talking about line. i use braid instead of fluro cause i cannot stand a spool full of memory holding line. i use a 5-6' leader for clear water or trout tho. do you ever use leaders to get that fluro feel? also, why the overpowered braid? i hear many anglers talking about 4 vs 8 strand, and wanting the bigger stuff. but i have been using 20-25Lb with a moderate drag for pike/musky in northern NY. just curious as to the reason, unless you're searching for 60Lb hits. thanks!
this helped alot! i just picked up bass fishing earlier this year and fishing in general. i havent fished for over 10-15 years but getting into it in a huge way picking up things as i go but i was wondering if you have a video for fishing terms/lingo? i hear different terms and/or lingo but do not really know what theyre referring to. if you have one or know of one can you point me to it or if you havent made one would that be a possibility and would maybe help out myself and others who are new or just getting back into it. also thanks for being the IF and helping us regular joes out
great informational vid. What test floro would you use on C-rigs, and heavier football jigs on the bottom? I'm thinking 17lb and just wanna know because its about time to spool up here in NY. Keep the quality videos coming
Hey man love your videos and really learning alot. My question is when do you use bright colors such as orange, yellow and a baby blue? What colors are those imitating?
Huge amount of info Nick. Thank you for taking the time to explain all this stuff, I learned a lot. In fact I think I understand WHY I hooked that big bass the other night (my personal best). Dark night, dark water, calm water. I used a black booyah buzz bait. I think (from what you said) it was the vibration, noise and the correct color (black). For some reason I was thinking dark water = shiny lures (so they see it). I'm going to try some more of your tips tonight when it gets dark. Any other ideas for me let me know. By the way, the chatter style doesnt always have a tail on them, should you always put that on? How long should it be (past the skirt of tentacles)? FYI: I caught the bass with the Booyah with no soft tail on the hook and pulling it though low to mid depth at night from the bank of a pond casting to the middle and pulling it back.
Just found your channel and really enjoying it, however I'm finding it hard to locate your more beginner content. Watching you catch steel head and sharks is cool but I'm just starting out. Any chance you could sort them into playlists for ease of searching?
Thank you so much for making these videos. I'm going bass fishing for smallies for the first time ever tomorrow and now I feel like I'll be able to catch something. Thanks! :D
Jordin Meagher yeah no doubt. im not a fan of staring at an ice hole all day. Even if im getting lucky and hammering it, shit gets old. Know what im sayin?
Nick, nice job on this very thorough instructional, thanks!! (to the 30 haters: you try to put out a one hour video with cut away footage, gear variations, and dialog and get back to us.)
subscribed and liked. I can't tell you how much this will help me and how much it inspires me. Knowing the small stuff like the red resembling gills is the kinda stuff I want to know. And as everyone has said, this is the best bass fishing tutorial you can find. Thanks a lot!
With your top water tips, you mentioned getting your Umpqua feather tying buddies to tie something up for the tail. I live on the Umpqua here in Oregon. Do you have a contact you could share to rig up some tail hooks?
I live in southern Ohio and have pretty much been a live bait guy, aka worms. what do you suggest for getting more into bass fishing primarily from the shore? The amount of info in this video is a tad overwhelming for the non experienced. Thanks.
Hey there .....I. F . , Thank you so much for all the valuable info , I have most if not all the lures you showed. but im finding my neglecting my walkers , rubber, and botton jigs because im not comfortable using them. mainly because not sure of presentation for them. well I do now and thanks so much. im looking for jig and rubber worm presentation. Larry D. Cottage Grove , Oregon.
im having a hard time fishing from the bank in arizona. I have tried everything from minnow lures to jigs and live worms. I haven't fished with fake worms as much but i will be giving it a try. Most places around the phoenix area dont really have a ton of greenery unless you go up north. Do you have any tips for me that i should be using in lakes that have alot of rocks or even fishing from docks? anything helps. thanks
I've been watching video's for awhile now looking for just the right tips on lures to help get me to the next level of Bass fishing. I catch good size Bass but I'm still looking for the BIG one! I really think with what I learned from your video will help get me that big one I'm looking for.. By far best tip video I've watched.
If the bottom of my lakes are primarily leaves, twigs, the slimy green stuff and other "gunk", I shouldn't bother throwing any crankbaits due to their need to be banged off the bottom?
what do I do if I don't have that many fishing poles for my lures? How can I set up 1-3 poles for all of them without changing my fishing line constantly and what would you recommend that would be good for a variety of fishing in Jacksonville Florida fresh water?
I live in Salinas. I would say I'm about two maybe three hours from the delta. I've never gone up to fish because i don't know any good bank fishing spots. Any recommendations?
Thanks man I've never caught a bass but I'm going out on Wednesday to a lake kayak and two pontoon river raft I'm using senkos please pray for me to catch my first
Jace Gephart dont take my word 100% cuz i dont fish a baitcaster. I actually just ordered my first. but i did a lot of reading and one thing i kept seeing over and over is they give better accuracy than other reels
hi first i really thank you for the information you post here an second thing every week i spend one whole day using worm goat liver corn menow what ever i find and i driving different locations for past 2 months so far i caught one catfish and bluegills all r like 4 inch and downloading fishing apps finally watching i saw your you tube video now i know the types of bait but still not clear which none were and when i can use
i wish someone had a really long, clear tank so we could see the action of these lures and sound of them during a retrieve. Visualizing how a lure behaves is a useful skill.
How you guys been? The show took off right after I left. Been doing it full time since. I gave up on MMA after Pam and I had our first, was taking to much damage. I still enjoy fighting but fishing has always been my true calling. Give me a call I will come meet you guys for lunch.

I just can't even begin to explain how helpful this video was! Seriously, I took notes. This really put so many pieces of the puzzle together for me.
