Dam dude you've been doing videos for a bit, this video is up my alley, going to Wally world in Sonora today to buy the right utensils, as seen here , shit dam , thanks
A tip for taking turtles off your hooks for the future so you don't make it suffer having a hook in its face the rest of its life, you put the turtle on its back and have some longer pliers on hand, putting the turtle on its back makes it MUCH less likely to snap, I have personally never had one snap when doing it like this and then you remove the hook. Also having a very thick leather glove on hand like an old welding glove helps out as most turtles you hook wont be able to bite through them with the exception of maybe a 30+ pound snapping turtle. And thanks for the catfishing tips, i didn't know the high wind one :D
Love your videos man, anytime i am looking to learn a little something extra i always end up scrolling through tons of videos and settle on yours. Keep em up!
In this video is the circle hook added to the line before making the double surgeon knot or is it clove hitched on the loop after the double surgeon knot is tied?
IF, I googled sticky thread and other variations and nothing came up! It sounds awesome, but would you be able to give us a URL to purchase it from? Thanks in advance!
I usually go down to the river every weekend by myself trying to catch catfish. I live in PA and now the weather is getting cooler for fall. Is there anything wrong with just really simply fishing from the bank to the bottom with a plain sinker and 2/0 circle hook and chicken/ beef liver?
There is nothing wrong with fishing from the bank. I live in MD and I only do bank fishing, I have never fished from a boat before, and I still land big fish. Just today, I caught a 5lbs, 2ft blue catfish from the bank using chicken liver.
i have a question, if you use rods or lines that are bigger than the fish you want to catch will it work. I am a beginner fisher sry for the stupid question
Nick, thank you for showing the Carolina rig. I hear guys on here talk about using it all the time AND in fact I have those exact rigs on my poles and it turns out I've been using them wrong the whole time... until today.
Great vid Nick, I have a few friends that live over there I'll have to go fishing there sometime. I've fished at oak grove (bad idea) for catfish/trout and the fishing there is just terrible.
So what's the best way to get a large cat (like the 10+lb ones)? Yesterday I hooked one that was every bit of that on a light rod with 8lb line....I couldn't get it out of the water because I didn't know how to grab it.
I've found that a high low rig casts much better than a sliding sinker rig. With a sliding rig the bait kinda swings around the weight and does not cast as far and gets tangled. Then again sliding rigs might be more effective.
It depends on what kind of catfish your fishing for like channel cats you can use cut bait but don't have to, but flathead on the other hand like live non cut bait.. Can you do a vid of flathead carfishing.?
Great video! I would love to have water like that in my backyard.. I don't think I'd ever be caught inside with all those nice fish you catch there lol!
Awesome video and tips! Can I get by with a $13 Shimano IX spinning reel, with a ugly stick rod? The reel gets great reviews. If not, what is the best minimum priced reel to get by with? Subscribed.
Getting a 10 lb cat on 6 lb test line is the most awesome feeling ever once you get one in. Definitely have to play out the fish with the light line and light rod, but is the most satisfying thing ever. I love fishing for them because they're scrappers, but I don't eat them
Hey Brian, can you tell me where is your location please, I would love to call my realtor to find us a house got a backyard like you, so we can fish...:) I watch your clip again and again and again never get tired, because, we love catfish...Please let me know, Thank you so very much. Happy catfish
Enjoying your videos...headed fishing Sat with the kids and trying to learn as much as I can before then. Hopefully I won't be to scared to touch the fish. Lol!
Fun video. I think this is just a few houses down from my house!Quail Lake is it? I catch some nice catfish here. True story, neighbor caught a Channel Cat pushing 25 pounds!
You can also u elastic thread it woks good it cost 0.97 cents at walmart you can find it in the sewing isle and can u make a blue cat and flathead video
We would love to know this location so bad, so we can move in or buy a house like your friend :) , so we can go in the backyard and fish anytime we wanted, we love catfish very much ...:), It's very beautiful place, please lets us know. Thanks a lot.
Honestly nobody needs big fancy poles for catfishing (all though I'm guilty for it) I live in Iowa and whenever I go down to the Iowa river every one is using $20 dollar poles with zebco 33 on them. Fishing for 15 lbs and up catfish on 6 foot poles and 12 pound test. No need to buy $200 dollar setups. Although I prefer my ugly stick with a Shimano 3000 but that's just because I like to bass fish as well.
You know what else removes fish stink from your hands? Dawn. Super cheap and found anywhere. Also removes oils and odors from your hands to keep it off the bait. Not that that matters. I've had my hands all over the bait for years I've never seen a fish come up, smell the bait, and say "hmm... that smells like a human... I don't like to eat human" and then swim away. They don't care. They are hungry and they found food they are going to eat it.
Having a home right next to a beautiful, fishable body of water... The dream!
Gabriel Lucatero I know

Just found your channel tonight. Love your videos!! I'm really really new to fishing and your videos have really helped me. Thanks
Love your videos man, anytime i am looking to learn a little something extra i always end up scrolling through tons of videos and settle on yours. Keep em up!
which is better, palomar knot or improved clinch knot? I know the regular clinch is fairly weak but the improved clinch has never failed me.
In this video is the circle hook added to the line before making the double surgeon knot or is it clove hitched on the loop after the double surgeon knot is tied?
Kind've late and a stupid question but how do you reduce back lashes or tangles in your
Bait caster or open reel(that's what I call it)

Thanks in advance!
a common name for it is magic thread, or even bait thread

We love fishing from the backyard so much....your neighborhood area is beautiful, so relaxing, lovin'it
What kind of reel/pole set up you have there?
Hey nick is it okay if i use a 10 leader or should I just use straight braid?
Looks like you set the hook again ok a circle hook?
Great vids!! You've helped me out hugely! ! Question: I it legal to chum in the sloughs or the delta? Thanks..
i have a question, if you use rods or lines that are bigger than the fish you want to catch will it work. I am a beginner fisher sry for the stupid question
Yes, the line and rod size really doesn't matter
Little piece of night crawler on a size 14 hook, catching bluegill for bait
Just wondering why you didn't remove the hook from the turtle?
What length of rod do you like for bank fishing
Nick, thank you for showing the Carolina rig. I hear guys on here talk about using it all the time AND in fact I have those exact rigs on my poles and it turns out I've been using them wrong the whole time... until today.
What size egg sinker were you using?
Great vid Nick, I have a few friends that live over there I'll have to go fishing there sometime. I've fished at oak grove (bad idea) for catfish/trout and the fishing there is just terrible.
can't find the sticky thread on ebay mate can you give me a link?
Another great video. Have you ever used the catmax by BPS I was looking at it for first catfish outfit
So what's the best way to get a large cat (like the 10+lb ones)? Yesterday I hooked one that was every bit of that on a light rod with 8lb line....I couldn't get it out of the water because I didn't know how to grab it.
Can you or have you done a video on cut bait for catfishing using bluegill or shad?
Hey hi there, where do i find this landing net?
Try a fishing tackle store...
Excellent explanation, the demonstrations are very helpful.
You have the art of fishing down tight
Can you use regular thread if you can't get sticky thread to keep on chicken livers?
Try pantyhose, the cheap kind that comes in the little plastic ball at walmart.
80000lbsofliberty thank for the idea
I think regular thread would wrk and if not then yea pantyhose
could i use a ugly stik gx2 6 foot medium action rod with 10 lb test
I've found that a high low rig casts much better than a sliding sinker rig. With a sliding rig the bait kinda swings around the weight and does not cast as far and gets tangled. Then again sliding rigs might be more effective.
can u fish here if you don't live here (no rent or own a home)? this is in stockton right?
What weight do you use when fishing in a creek?
1\4 oz egg sinker or half an ounce
It depends on what kind of catfish your fishing for like channel cats you can use cut bait but don't have to, but flathead on the other hand like live non cut bait.. Can you do a vid of flathead carfishing.?
Great video! I would love to have water like that in my backyard.. I don't think I'd ever be caught inside with all those nice fish you catch there lol!
why is there a constant clicking in the back round noise? its not my sound. you're other video is not doing it.
Omikay mines the same
Awesome video and tips! Can I get by with a $13 Shimano IX spinning reel, with a ugly stick rod? The reel gets great reviews. If not, what is the best minimum priced reel to get by with? Subscribed.
Im looking to buy a new rod for cat fishing? any recommendations? what rods were used in this video?
Shakesphere makes a little pink combo outfit called The Ladyfish. Start with that and work your way up to a big boy rig.
For an easier bait, can I use Hot Dogs? Or regular Night Crawlers? Which is better?
Was this at a lake in the backyard?
Getting a 10 lb cat on 6 lb test line is the most awesome feeling ever once you get one in. Definitely have to play out the fish with the light line and light rod, but is the most satisfying thing ever. I love fishing for them because they're scrappers, but I don't eat them
Yeah, Quill Lake has homes on it.
Where did you get that net
Check out egg loop knot, phenomenal knot for holding livers on hook.
What pound line your using
Hey Brian, can you tell me where is your location please, I would love to call my realtor to find us a house got a backyard like you, so we can fish...:) I watch your clip again and again and again never get tired, because, we love catfish...Please let me know, Thank you so very much. Happy catfish
Once you get the hang of using them you will see your hook up ratio actually go up!
Enjoying your videos...headed fishing Sat with the kids and trying to learn as much as I can before then. Hopefully I won't be to scared to touch the fish. Lol!
Lol, how did you do?
***** We're going tomorrow but in my head I'll be doing as good as you but in reality I'll be coming home with an empty cooler! Lol!
What Would Happen if you fish With 3oz weight An 20 Lb line do you think the line will snap
Yes too much weight go with a 1 1/2 ounce
Is it ok if I use a 6,6 medium action with spinning rod 8 ball bearings
Marc Ban yeah
where do I get chicken liver, I live in Michigan?
Hey Nick, love your videos, keep it up man!
To heavy of a set up i use a bass rod for big channel and bullhead flathead i use that type but love the vid!
i use hotdogs they work 10 times better and dont need any thing to hold them on
No just a bared hook with a hotdog
Hot Dogs literally the best 💯👌
Used this exact set-up and caught 8 channel cats at a local lake. Great job with these videos! Thanks. Edit: was first time catfish fishing!
Id love to see you do some carp fishing! they put up amazing fights
I use latex globs to put bait. I was wondering if that is a bad idea?
+Diego Medina Should be fine
Thanks
***** thank you
where can i order one of those net with extensions?
+song luc Those handles are actually just paint handles you can find them at Home depot in the painting section.
Fun video. I think this is just a few houses down from my house!Quail Lake is it? I catch some nice catfish here. True story, neighbor caught a Channel Cat pushing 25 pounds!
Are dough baits good?
Right in his backyard! Man oh man can't get any better than that.
do you live in florida?
Is that dude wearing the Eskimo Joe's shirt from Oklahoma?
whare do you live? hope that isnt too personal, but thats all we have here in ohio is channel cats and bullheads.
You can also u elastic thread it woks good it cost 0.97 cents at walmart you can find it in the sewing isle and can u make a blue cat and flathead video
What was for bait?
Defiantly a time/waiting game, Ive seen lines soak for over an hour then all of a sudden you get a bite and its a 15 pound fish on.
Do you really need 12-15 pound test? Really not a big fan of respooling...
YES. Especially if you hate respooling. They snap lines like you'd not believe
at 11:20 what fish is that in your hands?
I need help, I can't figure out if their our catfish in my lake. Any suggestions?
There most likely is catfish! The best way to find out is to go catfish fishing! get some cut fish, chicken, and even liver!
Where is your house? I"d love to live in an area like that!
When you guys caught that turtle, did you just cut the line and not remove the hook?
I know right...
Fishing hooks are made to dissolve in the chemicals released in a fish's mouth, is a turtle much different?
"Fish have strong digestive acids that dissolve metal." Copied from www.stoneflysociety.org/catchreleas.htm
www.stoneflysociety.org/catchrelease.htm
I forgot the e on release.
It's not the water is that dissolves the hook, it's the stomach acid.
I have some cut shad methods in the beginning of this episode. Put this in the youtube search NBTmEvEfmFk
Thanks Paul!
Where do u gt ur fishing rod hode

Damn Boayyy.... Did you marinate that chicken liver ? Cause it sure looks like it !
Thanks for the info and great video.
Great video as always!
Nice information for the young and inexperienced GOOD JOB!
Where can you buy chicken livers
Grocer stores
my gas station has em
same
bass pro shop
Only if you want to pay triple. The supermarket is the only cheap place to buy chicken liver.
That is not a Bullhead, it is a White catfish. Notice the pinkish color tails and head bigger than it's body.
Great video, very helpful
Tanks for the advice!!
Great video!
